Kani Salad

Such a cute little place with awesome owners and excellent food. we got two appetizers. This eggplant sandwich and this sushi Trio. I don't remember the name of it. Both were really amazing. Then I got the lunch special with a special.roll. I chose the Mango Hawaii roll and a tuna roll . This came with their salad or a miso soup. I chose a salad. Their homemade ginger dressing on the salad is super yummy. We were really impressed with this place. Whenever I'm in this neighborhood, I will definitely come back.

Just had their Toro tuna. Best quality , Best tasting tuna I ever had. Look at these pics. The owner is a perfectionist and only serves highest quality. Been coming here for years and will continue to come for many more. Looking for a sushi spot. Here it is

This place is still king! Nowadays my go to order is the sushi/sashimi combo for lunch and it is always excellent. The fish is fresh and delicate, the rice is always perfectly done. My favorite part though is the salmon that comes with the order. Always smooth and has a nice, fatty taste to it. Delicious. Even after all these years, its still my favorite sushi place on Long Island!

I stopped in quick before heading out to dinner and had a drink at the bar. The bar/lounge had an…read moreall-day happy hour menu that is stellar. For $8, I got a whole hot sake (about 5 cups). It was delicious, hit the spot, and I will absolutely be getting it again. Quiet, clean vibes inside. Service was a bit slow but the bartender seemed to also be responsible for all the lounge tables and the takeout/check-in counter- so she was spread thin!

They have happy hour from 3-7pm drinks are $7-8 and hot apps are $8 . I got a glass of wine and the Bang Bang cauliflower. I asked for the sauce on the side as sometimes it's too spicy. The cauliflower was in a tempura batter which was light and crispy and the sauce was more sweet then spicy but had a nice flavor. After my friend arrived we ordered the pork dumplings, which were tasty but nothing special. Eventually we moved to the dinning room. The menu is extensive with many hot dishes and sushi selections. There is a $29 price fixe that includes soup or salad, a small plate or dim sum, a kitchen entree and dessert with no restrictions off the full menu. Quite a bargain. We both got the wonton soup, which was ok but could have been hotter in temperature. We got the wagyu short rib potstickers and the crystal shrimp shumai, the beef were dry and benefited from the dipping sauce, the shrimp were fine. I got the Tiger prawns which was the star of the meal. Huge shrimp stacked high with a light sauce over shredded cabbage serves with either brown or white rice. I took half of them home. My friend doesn't like spicy food so asked which of the ramen dishes was not spicy. The waitress recommended the pork belly which arrived with no broth at all, after that was remedied it was still too spicy, which of course is personal but still. My friend got the fried ice cream & I got the chocolate cake with green tea ice cream, both were ok if forgettable I think if I decide to return it will be for happy hour only and I'll stick to the small plate apps and maybe take an order of the tiger prawns home.

Looking for a fun dining experience where you cook your food, then this is a place to add to your…read morelist. Having never been to this type of restaurant before, we came with seasoned veterans so as to not be confused and/or overwhelmed. It's a lot IF you have no idea how this place works. Here's the gist of it: There's BBQ and/or Hot Pot. You can do one or both. There's a set price for adults and children. It's all you can eat for your 60-90 minute time slot. For a slight up charge, you can get both BBQ and hot pot. Since this was our first time, our party focused on just the BBQ. You are told when it's last call for having the raw items brought out from the kitchen to cook. Appetizers and sides are prepared in the kitchen and brought out upon your request. We tried quite a few: sweet fried mini buns, fried shrimp shuami, fried pork goyza, and fried spring rolls. All were yummy! Each person can request up to five items at one time. That's harder to do that you realize. And they will keep rolling it out as you request. However, it's important to note that wasting food is frowned upon so you are expected to order responsibility to avoid unnecessarily just throwing food away. Stars of the night for us were the skirt steak, short ribs and pork belly with enoki mushrooms. The zucchini and large mushrooms were standout fresh veggies. Everything brought to the table was very fresh and flavorful because of all the available sauces offered including a make-your-own-sauce bar. Again, adding personalized FUN to this dining experience. Service was quick and our table area was clean. Because the restaurant was so busy we sometimes had to trouble catching our server to order more items and get beverage refills. But it was never overly long. The evening ends with a Hershey's personal-sized cup of ice cream or sherbet. Just one per person. You'll be so full so one is more than enough! With our big group of seven people , our dining outing was a really fun experience. We'll be back and be sure to come hungry!

I didn't take many photos bc once your food comes and your cooking it's slightly chaotic, in the best way possible. All of our food was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was so patient with us and explained everything. They change out your grill once it gets charred on food stuck to it. It's quite an experience and now that we have done it we will understand better for next time. Oh and the restaurant itself was so clean. It's shipping containers and it's a vibe! Look forward to coming back
