First and last time there. I went for a Deluxe car wash and I would have did better at a self service wash. My seats and floor mats were not vacuumed. Trash was left in the car. I paid for interior wash and tire shine which was half done. I had to ask them to finish the tires. The front bumper and grill was dirty. The molding was was half done. I had to shake off the driver side floor mat which had leaves on it. My kids had to use the bathroom and they said it was dirty and smelled bad. They asked to rewash their hands with my bottle water and use sanitizer when they came out. read more

Attention to Detail! Came here to get my wife's vehicle detailed on my day off & these guys did an excellent job from start to finish. One of the young ladies working there actually came to my car while I was getting it organized for detail & was proactive in finding out what I needed. Once inside the office decided to just go with interior detail since we expect to continue to see rain for this week & after the work they did will definitely come back for exterior detail once rain is gone. The detail work was thorough, I looked all over the SUV & they definitely paid attention to everything ensuring not a single spot was missed. For $90 bucks this was definitely worth the investment for the quality of work they provided. I don't even know why I came back to this Kwik Kar. My last visit I got here first thing in the morning and was second in line for an oil change. An hour later I went to check what was going on...my car was parked off to the side. I came in to ask why it was off to the side, they told me it was done. I got inside and realized nothing had been vacuumed/cleaned (they clean it post-oil change) and so they put it through the wash. Then comes to find out that they didn't even CHANGE the oil. Now I'm sitting here again, just gave them the keys, and they call me out asking if I'm having transmission issues. I said no, and they told me the engine light was on. I said it wasn't on prior to coming. I don't believe a word that comes out of their mouth - no engine lights were on prior to this visit. Pretty coincidental it comes on as they bring my car in. Rude customer service and shameless upselling. Not sure how this place stays so busy, but they do...unfortunately. I've learned not to do inspections there. They blackmailed me into purchasing wiper blades before they would pass my car. When asked to see the blades they have concern about....we've already thrown them out. First time I caved, never to go again. My wife took the car the next year. I get a call saying they won't pass unless we get new blades. I drove down there and had words. They backed down as again i asked for the blades, this time they had them as well as history in their system. No apology. I witnessed the guys that vacuum and dry the cars rip out floor mats that are cleated in...ripping the cleats out on to the concrete and just put the mats back in. While waiting on the inspection to finish an elderly woman came in for an oil change, but wasn't sure if this was where she had it done. Lady behind the counter snagged her keys and said ok we'll pit in synthetic. The lady asked what that was and how she knew which car was her's? The girl said oil and I have your keys. They normally vacuum first but guess the kid manning that station outside didn't feel like it today. The guy that shampooed and replaced my floor mats decided to turn a blind eye when he was putting the floor mats back in the car. This isn't the first time but it's the last. I decided to go back to kwik car because of the service. I had my state inspection completed and they're very honest and did not try to upsell me things I did not need. My state inspection was seamless. Which was perfect. I was in and out within aprox 30 min. Recently (TODAY) I had some engine problems, so I priced around, took some time, but over the phone diagnostics are always hard to determine and price, you might as well and take it down to the shop ultimately I found that, they charged the best. in my humble opinion, which seemed like the best deal at an affordable price. They made me feel like I had options with the problems my suv was having. They said you can do the minimum... and yes your car will run, but they did not force me to make instant decision. Eventually, after coming to a decision. I realized the savings I would have made by knocking out the whole problem. And not coming back charging more labor "yada, yada" So instead I chose to get to the root, instead of placing a "band-aid" over it. So without delaying the issues. I paid a fair and reasonable amount. There services were great and KWIK... see what I did there. Joking aside I recommend kwik car to all first timers, whether it is a state inspection, oil change, or engine tune up. Thanks KWIK CAR YOU GUYS ROCK!! **Bonus ** They offer to drive you home instead of waiting in the lobby, and they call and pick you up after your car is ready. We recently went for an oil change and had a HORRIBLE experience. Pull up and tell the guy that we want a full synthetic oil change. He repeated back "full synthetic" (my wife was there and heard it) and then we told him that we didn't want a car wash. It was busy (Saturday midday) so we waited about 45 minutes. Then we saw that our car was not in the work area and appeared to be in the car wash line. So we went up to the cashier and told them we said we didn't want a car wash and if the oil change is done, we'd like to pay. Well they told us the price, it was $40 something. I knew that was VERY wrong because full synthetic oil changes start at $60. So I told them that I specifically asked for a full synthetic oil change and then the cashier asked the workers if they used full synthetic. They said no and they had to bring my car back to change the oil again to full synthetic, AFTER WE WAITED 45 MINUTES FOR THE PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE WE NEVER ASKED FOR. Fine. Whatever. We told them AGAIN that we didn't want a car wash. They finish the oil change and next thing you know, the car disappears AGAIN. Oh, it's in the car wash line again and too late to pull out of the line. Ridiculous. Told them clearly we wanted full synthetic and told them TWICE we didn't want the car wash. The last straw was that after the automatic car wash line, our car just sat there while car wash employees just stood there talking. I raised my voice (finally) and they got someone to pull the car out and just took it and left. The worst part was that you'd think with all this hassle they would have comped the oil change and simply made us pay for the actual synthetic oil used (Even their inflated prices). But nope, not even an additional sorry or anything. Still charged $90. I love Kwik Kar's in general, but it's important to remember that they are independently owned and operated, so quality can significantly differ from location to location. One closer to my work on Lemmon Ave. in Dallas is spectacular. This location, while close to home, is unfortunately the worst I've ever been to and I will not be returning. read more

This used to be my go-to place for basic maintenance: oil changes, state inspections, and car washes since moving to Texas. I never felt that they were pushing too hard for add-on services and always felt like the quality of work and speed of service spoke for itself. I don't know if something has changed (management or mechanics?) but I will never be back. I went in for an oil change last week and was told that my brake pads on my front tires were worn completely down, to the point of damaging my rotors. I knew they were wearing down, but had deferred maintenance bc my husband is mechanically inclined and typically takes care of "the big stuff" on our cars. I was told if I just replace the pads "it will squeak like crazy" and so the mechanic recommended replace both pads and rotors, but also said "It's expensive so if it's something you want to wait on that's okay". Normally I wouldn't have said yes, but we were about to go out of town and I thought I'd go ahead and get the car in top shape before leaving. My husband had been busy with work the last few weeks and I didn't want to add another thing to his plate. I asked if the parts were available and was told it would take an hour. This was at 11am. Fast forward to 6pm they are just finishing the job. After taking 10% off my bill, giving me two free carwashes, and shuttling me to and from my house when the repair took longer than expected, I was still not upset to the point of never coming back. I felt they made an effort to make it right. Fast forward to two days later and my brakes were squeaking and grinding like crazy. My car now makes a constant squeaking noise while driving as the front tires rotate. My husband took the wheels off to see what the problem was, thinking in rushing to get the work done they possibly didn't grease the parts well enough. What does he find? OLD ROTORS rusted to the hub of the tires that have never even been removed!!! This place charged me $350 for parts and work they didn't complete and wasted my whole day with some BS story about having to have the rotors brought in from another shop, when in reality they let my car sit in pieces and then did the 20 minutes of work required at the last minute. THE MECHANIC EVEN TOLD ME IF THE ROTORS WEREN'T REPLACED IT WOULD SQUEAK! Did they think we wouldn't notice? Seriously, stay away. Loyalty doesn't matter to these people and neither do basic ethical business practices. I know there is nothing we can do to get our money back, but I can warn people about coming here in the future. I'm old enough to know better, but like I said my previous 2 yr positive history with them blurred my judgment. Never again. read more

Came here today with my mother to get our cars inspected and was VERY underwhelmed by the service. Inspections went as inspections go, nothing to talk about here. The lady at the service desk was just lack luster. It seems like every customer that went was unhappy today. They wound up losing the car registration sticker that my mother asked them to put on the car during the inspection. How hard is it to keep a piece of paper from getting lost? to rectify the situation they gave her a free car wash and a small discount. THAT'S COOL, if i wanted swirl marks and scratches all over my car from shoddy car washing jobs. I've always hated car maintenance but my family and I will not be coming back here regardless of the proximity of our home. This place is always busy so prepare to wait. I came on a Monday afternoon thinking it wouldn't be as bad as a weekend and still waited 2 hours. The lady behind the counter isn't exactly a "go-getter" and will yell out cars that are complete, even when it's no ones car in the lobby and there are 10 people sitting outside waiting. I guess it never occurs to her to check outside...or she's too lazy. In addition....whether it's an inspection or an oil change they will try to upsale you on EVERYTHING. Even the free car wash no longer becomes free. I get it, it's a business but it is annoying and makes you wonder while you sit for 2 hours if you are being scammed. So far I haven't had a bad experience, but I certainly haven't had any good experiences either. That might be par for the course at an oil change place, but it still sucks. read more

Brought our car here for a premium oil change before leaving on our road trip... by the time we got to our destination the car reeked of burning oil and we took it straight to a local mechanic there. Thank goodness we did because we found out that Kwik Kar had not installed the new filter correctly and our seals were stripped and it was leaking all over the engine... we are so lucky we went to a mechanic could've burned our entire engine out. There are 2 alcoves to occupy kids. The women's room was clean which is an excellent plus along with a well-maintained grounds (no weeds and trash). The service was friendly and quick. I went by myself(I'm a woman) to take my 2012 Honda van in for an oil change. This is how the conversation went: Me - I need an oil change Tech - what kind of oil? Me - I have no idea, here is the sticker from the last one my husband got done. Tech - oh, they used the wrong oil...you need synthetic oil, it will be $72 plus tax. Me - ok if that's what I need. Well, what it turns out is I DO need synthetic oil, but they gave me THE most expensive one and gave me no option. I had no idea there were options, but my husband told me the next day. Then they came in and tried to get me to let them do an air filter change...for $30! Luckily, I said no...said I'd just take it in to Honda for that...to which he said...oh I do know it's $50 for Honda to do it. Pretty pushy, but I said no. Then they told me that the oil change included a free car wash but for $6 they would do a wipe down detail. I said no, just the regular free one. They did the full wipe down anyways...I guess hoping I would tip? I didn't have any cash so I just left. The next day my husband called complaining that they took advantage of me by giving me the most expensive oil. The manager said..."she was given a choice and she chose that oil". We explained the exact conversation and asked for a partial refund. He said "no, if I gave everyone a refund that complained I'd go out of business" Huh...guess a lot of people complain. Very disappointed. Tried the 29.99 wash / interior etc. Looks like hardly vacuumed and could tell seats were not cleaned at all. Water left in cup holders and smelled musky. Was not a good fragrance at all. Waited for cashier to return when it was done and then she had to look through trash for my receipt. She never offered one at the beginning so I assumed I would get it when finished. She never found it. Tried to find someone to dry spots on tailpipe etc and speak with a manager but no english. Went here for an overdue oil change. Appreciated the attendant showing me the filthy air filter (not surprised) and the low/dirty transmission fluid so I could personally see the problems. He told me of the good areas as well as tested a couple other areas for potential future changes but did not pressure me into getting those additional things done at this time. I visited Kwik Kar after a horrible experience at Sear's Auto. I was about to leave with my husband and two small children on a long road trip to San Diego to see family and needed to make sure my car was ready. I also had tail lights that had gone out and needed that remedied. My initial experience was great. The team was friendly and my car was worked on quickly, including a car wash and detail. Then it all went wrong. On our way back from San Diego two weeks later, I was pulled over in Wichita Falls for broken tail lights. We were on a marathon drive from our last stop in Santa Fe and determined to make it home that night. My options were to either stay in a hotel there or drive several hours with my hazards on which is what we chose to do. I brought the car back to Kwik Kar a few days later and was told that it was likely electrical and as the shop in Murphy did not have anyone with expertise in that area they sent me to the Sachse location. I asked them to make sure I could be seen that day and was assured that I could. I had a few short hours without my kids to get this done as the car seats were in my car. I got to the Sachse location and the gentleman was too busy to work on my car. Someone else attempted to fix the problem and after an hour's wait I learned that he could not. Not only that but he smudged and stained the interior of my door in the process. I was told to come back several days later. I refused. I took the car elsewhere that day and the mechanic was quickly able to realize that on my original visit to Kwik Kwik car, bulbs with a single filament were installed when double filaments were required. That was it. While I have an issue with the fact that I was driving with my tail lights out with my children in the car, my main concern is that upon explanation of the problem when I returned I never received an apology or offer to fix their mistake. I understand human error and am forgiving but I was never met with anyone who seemed to care. Their mistake cost me money and time and I could have potentially been in an accident driving at night with my children in the car and no one cared. I would have had less of a problem if someone along the line said "hey, we made a mistake, let us make it right." People were friendly until I brought up a problem and then no one could be bothered. As an aside, that detailing that was included in he initial visit left me with a rash on my hands from the people who wiped my steering wheel with some product. For the entirety of my trip the skin peeled from my hands. I will never return to Kwik Kar. read more
