This was the worse experience I have had !!! To begin with, as we sit the server tells us we have to order right away ( within 5 minutes)because the kitchen is closing! Can I give them a ZERO? TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE by the gentlemen who said he was the manager and "the boss" (his words, not mine). We had 2 toddlers with us (17 months each) and no room for high chairs. So after waiting 40 minutes we asked if we could sit at the open table and sit the toddlers on our laps. His response "no they would bother the other customers." I asked why, he said they would be "too close to other people." They would be on the mother's lap, who is it bothering. There were other children in the restaurant in high chairs. I have been to a lot of sushi places. I've tasted all kinds but I honestly say this one was the worst. It wasn't because of the friendly service or nice presentation it was because I got food poisoning. Not sure if it was the fish or the unsanitary kitchen , but for 26 hours I was sick. I called to inform them and ensure they pull the fish I ate or do a thorough cleaning so no one feels how I felt and they apologized. Netherless, i won't be back. read more

Overall this is a great sushi place if you're in the mood for sushi. But IT IS VERY MUCH A HOLE IN THE WALL. If you're looking for a classy place to have dinner, this is not it. That being said, the sushi was very good, not too much of a wait, especially since the place was packed! I would recommend it for a quick bite out, but not if you're looking for a nice sushi restaurant. Definitely would not take a date here. My gf and I wanted to take my parents out, and luckily the people (customers) there were awesome and made the night, but I wish we went to a better - not-so-hole-in-the-wall - sushi place. My boyfriend and I came here last Thursday for dinner. This is actually our go to sushi spot. The service is awesome!! Regardless how busy they are (which they do get really busy) they never fail to make sure you are doing okay. Whether it be you want more to eat or your glass of beer is empty and you need a new bottle. Since my boyfriend and I are regulars there, the employees already know us so well. As soon as we take a seat, they already know what we want to drink (Asahi). I love that!! The sushi is really fresh and they serve VERY generous portions. The sauce they use is so YUMMY!! We usually order the Salmon Lover's Roll which is i believe crabmeat on the inside and salmon on the outside topped with thinly sliced lemon wedges, and the Frank Roll which is crabmeat on the inside and topped with mango and avocado. mMm...So delicious!! All their rolls are really good, but we can only eat so much in one night. Everything is reasonably priced for their portions and quality. The place is also pretty clean. First off there is no parking. 2nd took forever to even attend us. Then once we did order my sisters food which were the same 2 plates they took over 45min to make. Our sushi wasn't that good. when i'm going out for sushi, i pick the restaurant and then make plans around it. this time, i had plans to be in downey and so i had to pick a sushi spot around the location. as a loyal yelper, i looked this place up and decided to give it a shot. well, i couldn't be happier with my discovery than i am! the reviews were pretty spot on about the location and the size and the crowdedness... and it is all warranted. this sushi is absolutely awesome! my friend and i order a few different things and each one was perfect. my favorite was the salmon lovers roll which was not just flavorful and fresh, but also nuanced by texture and presentation to make it even more appealing. my second favorite was the amigas roll. very interesting sensations come with that one, so be ready of a texturally different ride. all in all, an excellent sushi spot, hole-in-the-wall, reasonably priced, and super fresh. i have a feeling this place will warrant making plans around it in the future. Best little hole in the wall. I love me some sushi and this place serves it up better than nice just bettet hope it's not packed and boy is it small. Feel like going to get canned up like sardines. But other customers are usually friendly when not grumpy from being hungry. Prices are very reasonable for the freshness and how tasty the food and especially the sushi, fantastic pallet filling deliciousness it is! 3.5 stars It was my first time here. I ordered Nabeyaki udon and Azteca roll for lunch. The udon was alright, pretty much just average. The Azteca roll, however, was really good. It's not on their regular menu. Never thought mango slices can be use in a sushi roll. I kind of wish I order the chirashi bowl instead of udon. Maybe next time for lunch. The prices here are a little pricey considering where it is located. Parking is not that great, tiny parking lot which can be packed. They do have great service.
