They never asked for any drinks, never brought more menus, we had two plates missing for half of the meal and the orders showed up in miscellaneous order. Our table never got all the food we ordered to eat as one family. We spent 3h there until we got done finally. The food was very dry, not much flavor and the seasoning was non existent. I visited Kyoto Sushi recently and unfortunately had to lower my rating by a significant amount. During the visit itself, the service was fine and everything tasted good at the time. However, after we got home, all three of us ended up with food poisoning. We believe it came from one of the fried rolls, since that was the common item between us. This was really disappointing because I usually enjoy this spot and have had good experiences here in the past. Something like this completely changes how I feel about the place, and it will definitely be a long time before I consider coming back. Kyoto is a steady, solid AYCE option. They offer very reasonable lunch prices and even dinner is not too bad. The quality is good, but not great. I'm happy with their soft shell crab as a fried appetizer each time. The sashimi is smaller cuts but they allow you to order as many as you'd like. If I'm craving a lot of sushi and they are nearby, I always give Kyoto consideration. They are a good value as an AYCE. Pretty standard AYCE sushi for the price! The lunch pricing goes from 11am to 3pm, and will run you $19.99, which gets you a pretty respectable selection of rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, and non-sushi appetizers/hibachi/soups etc. When you go for dinner pricing, sashimi is added into the rotation, plus a couple other options like seaweed salad, if I remember correctly. When going for lunch, I usually just stick to the salmon nigiri which is pretty reliable--unlike some AYCE places that put wayyy too much rice in their sushi, you get a very reasonable ratio of rice:fish in the nigiri here. The maki rolls are a bit hit or miss in my opinion, but the hand rolls are always solid (I'm a big fan of the spicy salmon for those). Their "wasabi" is in fact that weird combination of horseradish and green food dye that some places use instead of the real stuff--not unsurprising for the price point, but still not my favorite. The service here is always pretty attentive and quick, and I've only had to reorder a couple of things that got lost in the shuffle, which, all things considered, is not bad. read more

The menu is limited, but the quantities are not. Their food is solid for an all you can eat establishment. Not the best fish I've had, but that's absolutely expected for this type of place. Compared to other AYCE place (not to sushi in general), this is in the top 75% which is why I've given 4 stars. SERVICE: Always good and quick. Also polite. Kyoto is the best AYCE sushi in town! Our waitress was attentive, making sure our waters were filled, our empty plates were cleared, and each round of orders came out quickly. Everything we had was delicious but some of my favorites were the sexy girl roll, the #9 roll, and the salmon nigiri - I don't know what I was expecting from the spicy salmon nigiri, but it was just the salmon with a drizzle of spicy mayo! We got a side of the spicy Mayo so I didn't really need them already spicy, but it was still delicious. The hand rolls were a great addition to the meal as well, a great ratio of rice and fish The ultimate reason to go to Kyoto for AYCE is the sashimi!! I had eaten at this Kyoto Sushi a few times before and was pleased with their food. Yesterday, I returned here and was somewhat disappointed with their service. I arrived at the restaurant around 2:00 p.m. figuring I would have an hour to eat since their schedule states lunch is served until 3:00. However, I felt rushed. The waitress told me it was "last call" at 2:25. I ordered extra sushi and then some ice cream. Moments later, I paid the bill using exact change but planned on giving a tip directly to the waitress before leaving. She and another employee walked out the front door around 2:45-2:50. By then, almost all the lights were turned off. One other employee (who I didn't recognize) walked by my table without saying anything. So I left without leaving a tip. Visited Kyoto with my brother around 5pm on a Thursday for their all you can eat sushi. I was very happy with my experience!! I have visited once before for lunch and the service was extremely slow and we were never checked on, but this time was totally different and our server was very attentive. Greatly priced, clean restaurant/bathrooms, and friendly fast service :) Came in hungry with my fiancé as we've been craving sushi all day and Kyoto Sushi had the fix! Toan was our server and he was really nice and prompt. The AYCE was $30 and the menu had many things to choose from; ranging from sashimi, hand rolls, fried rice, udon/ramen, to rice bowls! We had a little bit of everything and were very happy with the food and service we received. The serving of each order was on the smaller side but it was worth it as it helped us with pacing out our meals + avoid the 15% charge for excess food! The smaller portions weren't a problem either as the servers were very attentive and we never had to wait to order more food... or receive it as their expo time was GREAT! I'd actually give this place 3.5 stars as I would explore other sushi spots more. But know that this place is a reliable go-to in town. Our HUGE meal was just around $30, which is great. Honestly for what it is, Kyoto is pretty good. With an AYCE (all you can eat) its understandable that there is gonna be a lot of rice in the rolls and sushi. Aside from the exorbitant amounts of rice in everything, the sushi is pretty good! We love the spicy salmon sushi (nigiri) and we order some salmon sashimi to add on top! My favorite rolls have to be the Number 9 roll and sweet potato roll. A huge plus is the other items they serve on top of sushi! I'm particularly fond of their dumplings, miso soup, scallops, and green tea ice creams! Don't waste your breathe with the udon or ramen though. read more

I will have to agree with Alisa about this Kyoto. I have been to a few of the Kyoto locations, as well as the Akita location in Woodbury. First off the service is okay, the decorations are similar to the rest of the Kyoto locations. Where I was disappointed was the quality of the food you get. Maybe it's a downfall because I am comparing it to the other Kyotos I have been to. The taste of the food was bland. The pieces of Sashimi you got were really small and I wasn't too impressed. If you want some cheap sushi this is definitely the place to go but if you want something better just go somewhere else. I would recommend checking out Sushi Tango or Wakame for sushi. read more
