    Albacore garlic spicy roll
    Ericka S.

Amazing. So great to have a high quality mom and pop sushi spot in walking distance. The nigiri is super fresh, generously portioned and has a light wasabi dressing on top that makes the tuna perfect. Albacore spicy crunch was so perfect. Almost too perfect. I'm usually not a fan of spice but the garlic and sesame flavors balanced out the spice perfectly. Service was amazing and ambiance was traditional Japanese and adorable, with walking travel shots of Japan on TVs in the room. Will be back for more.

    Chirashi
    Amy Z.

Got the chirashi bowl and they did not hold back on the fish. Each slice was thick and high quality -would definitely come back for just that. The miso soup was also tastier (sweeter?) than other restaurants. The restaurant is small but quiet on a Friday night. Their plate ware is high quality. Service was good.

Consistently the best flavor, service and value. When the need for sushi hits, we will drive from Silverlake. We almost always order the Agedashi Tofu and Chirashi. It's too much food, and we should try other menu items, but it's so good. I've developed a taste for uni now, and this restaurant is solely responsible.

    Ankimo sushi - so good

We walked over from the Ice House to get a quick bite before our show started, and were SUPER impressed. Great menu, cute place, gracious service. My not so adventurous friend loved her miso soup & shrimp tempura cut roll. I LOVED: Double Hamachi roll Ankimo sushi ...so much so, I would drive from West LA just for these, and then try many more things. What a fantastic surprise! It wasn't until I came here to review our delicious dinner that I realized this secret is OUT. I will definitely be back for more super fresh sushi here!

    Lunch: three sushi roll combo
    Tammy L.

They have great lunch combo deals. We frequently visit for their 2-3 item bento boxes during lunch. Their hamachi collar bento is amazing. They also have a two or three sushi roll combo as well. My only complaint is that the rice for the sushi is a bit hard for my liking.

What a totally underrated spot! So unassuming and away from the hub that is Old Town, Kyushu is tucked on the corner on Colorado. There's free parking in the rear, but looks like street parking isn't much of a problem. Upon walking in, it didn't seem like your average sushi bar. It really felt like an old school Japanese spot - so charming but chill. Service was fantastic! Our server (whose name escapes me) gave us his two cents and he did not steer us wrong! Got the Uni Chawanmushi, Pink Lady, the Lemon Salmon Roll and the Rising Yellow Roll. We also got a handroll each as well as an order of the red snapper sushi. Everything was phenomenal! Prices were super reasonable and I cannot wait to come back here!

I already ate the crab roll

We fiinally tried Kyushu Sushi and I was honestly surprised in the best way. The portions here are BIG. Not like the usual tiny little bites some sushi places give you--this place actually fills you up. The Blue Crab hand roll was legit delicious. Fresh, creamy, and overflowing with crab, not just rice filler. The tempura was also really good--not oily, perfectly crispy, and still light enough where you don't feel weighed down after eating it. Another plus... there's actually parking on the side which is a lifesaver ..but make sure your turn left right away cause its a one way street. No circling around forever looking for street parking. Overall, Kyushu Sushi was definitely worth it. The portions were surprisingly generous, the flavors were solid, and the quality was there in every dish. On top of that, the service was on point--everyone was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance inside was also really nice... casual but still clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We will absolutely come back again if we are in the area.

Wow! What an amazing small mom and pop sushi restaurant! After a recommendation from a friend, I had to try it out! While the reviews all boast about the bento box, I wanted to try their sushi! We ordered their rising yellowtail roll, lemon salmon roll and spicy edamame! They were all so fresh and delicious! The service was excellent as well with the servers coming by frequently. Will be back again to try out more items from their menu!

AMAZING sushi experience. Service was so attentive! The meal was amazing!! So flavorful and thick cuts of sashimi. We got the chirashi special mixed sashimi, salmon sashimi, and 3 rolls for the lunch special. Great deal for lunch pricing.

Teriyaki Salmon tempura and sashimi bento

This is the kind of place that surprises you. Expect a strip mall "Japanese" restaurant - no-frills lunch, not necessarily "authentic Japanese" -- once you level set that expectation, Kyushu Sushi absolutely delivers. I grabbed the bento lunch and was blown away. Every single compartment was packed to the brim. As if the chef kept asking, "What else can I squeeze in here?" As for the sashimi, it was thick-cut. However I will point out, the rice is not Japanese short grain and the tempura is Chinese style. I don't think it's possible one person can finish this bento. At $18.95, it's hands down the best deal in town when you're craving a Japanese fix. I can't wait to come back for their chirashi!

    Shrimp tempura!!!

I stopped in because of just left as business down the street and the weather was so hot. Inside is very homey and traditional. The sushi chef is right there facing the customers tables. I rarely frequent Japanese restaurants because I'm not a sushi fan but I love tempura! I ordered green tea to start with a cucumber salad which was so fresh and hit the spot. My main dish was the tempura which was crispy and light and almost melted in my mouth! The service was great as all the servers checked in on me even with a full house in a Friday evening. Overall a solid 10/10 on everything that I ordered and I'll definitely be back!

    Lunch Special - #13 Tonkatsu + Tempura + Sashimi
    Jin C.

Great little Japanese spot. Service is friendly and the quality of the food is fantastic. Came here for lunch, lunch special from 11am-3pm. Bento Box: Lunch Special #13 Tonkatsu + Tempura + Sashimi 9/10 - The tonkatsu was crunchy and tender, goes really well with the Katsu Sauce. Sashimi was fresh and melts in your mouth. Tempura was lightly battered and crunchy. Sushi: Spider Roll 10/10 - Huge fan of soft shell crab. The crab was perfectly battered, and had a nice crunch. Spicy Tuna 8/10 - The tuna was fresh. Overall, the roll was solid. Salmon Avocado 9/10 - The salmon was fresh and melts in your mouth. The avocado was creamy and really helped balance the salmon. Side note - The rice for all three rolls was perfectly cooked, soft and really kept everything together. All this great quality food (3 rolls X2 and a Bento Box) came out to $55 w/ tax. Extremely affordable lunch special. If you're in the area, check this place out!

Tonkatsu with California roll Bento lunch

My co worker and I were in the area and was craving sushi. We were driving along Colorado when we saw this place. I pulled over to check on yelp and found the place has decent reviews so we turned around and came back to try this place. We got here right when they just opened. The staff seated us right away and took our orders. We got: Gyoza and deep fried squid tentacles for appetizers which were so good. We both got their lunch Bento which I would say the serving was huge. I got the tonkatsu with California roll. I am a big fan of katsu so whether it is tonkatsu (pork) or chicken katsu I will gladly order that. Everything was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. No wonder why they have a high rating and good reviews. I highly recommend this place. The staff was very nice and the lady was always smiling. Prices were very reasonable. My co worker and I were surprised how cheap they were compared to other places. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

We actually stumbled upon this place by accident. We were heading to the Mexican restaurant nearby,…read moreonly to find out it was under construction. This place looked really popular, with a lot of people coming in and out, so we decided to give it a try. The girl seating people when we arrived wasn't particularly friendly, she seemed like she was just going through the motions. Inside looked really busy, so we decided to sit outside. Even with the crazy heat, there was plenty of shade where we were sitting, so it was actually bearable. There was a QR code near the entry way that I had scanned but the young lady ended up bringing us menus, which was helpful. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura bowl with wheat noodles, but actually wanted the Undo noodles but I let it go. My mom ordered the all-vegetable tempura bowl. We also added a piece of chicken breast tempura to each of our meals for some extra protein. The tempura was different from what I'm used to. The batter was very light and flaky, but it was delicious! We both really enjoyed the vegetables. My favorites were definitely the zucchini and pumpkin. Overall, the service ended up being decent as well. Now here's the part I feel bad about mentioning. About 40-60 minutes after we left, my stomach started cramping really badly, and I ended up in the restroom. No need to go into details--it was horrible. I asked my mom how she was feeling, and she was completely fine. We pretty much ate the same meal, with the main difference being that I had the shrimp tempura and she didn't. So naturally, I wondered if maybe I had gotten a bad piece of shrimp. Of course, I can't say for certain that the shrimp was the cause. I'm not going to write this place off as a bad restaurant because of my experience. It could have simply been an unfortunate one-off situation. The place was clearly popular, and by the time we were getting ready to leave, there was actually a line of people waiting to eat. Overall, I think this is probably a good spot and we genuinely enjoyed the food while we were there. Unfortunately, after the way I felt later that day, I just don't know if I'll personally be coming back anytime soon.

The pricing of the items ranged from $8-$10 per item we ordered which is expensive but as a treat every once in a while and for the amount of time and effort that goes into making dim sum, it was worth it. If you've never tried Noodle Street before, definitely check out their menu and give their noodles a try. This particular location was clean, the staff was nice, and the wait wasn't long when I arrived. I would definitely come back again! I'd like to add one more detail. While I was waiting for my food, one of the staff members, possibly the manager, Justin, came over and asked if I'd like to have a small bowl of broth on the side. I said yes and was impressed by that offer. Why? This young man understood that I had ordered only the beef roll, which is a dry dish. Having a little warm broth on the side made it much easier and more enjoyable to eat. I had water, though, but I personally never drink water before or after my meal, so the broth was definitely a perfect complement to the beef roll. This is the first time in my Noodle Street eating history that I've been offered something simple to enhance my dining experience. A small gesture that I think is worth mentioning, as it showed that he was attentive and had very good common sense when it comes to customer service.
