My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining here. L'Accolade features a lively atmosphere and welcoming staff. However the food was the true gem. Prior to dinner we started off with some amazing eggplant schnitzel and fresh oysters. While dining we were grateful for the excellent wine recommendations from the staff. We opted for the 2 courses which included 2 appetizers and 1 entree, with the highlights being the delicate crab tortellini stuffed with generous amounts of succulent crab, and their scallop crudo, with fresh scallops with a bright vinaigrette and accoutrements. However, the entree, a Pork Tenderloin (sous vide), took the show with its tender cuts of pork. Overall a memorable and delightful dining experience that I would certainly like to revisit! read more

Been here 2x. Great for happy hr drinks and bar snacks. Cocktails/glass of wine is about ~13$. There is a 90 min time limit if you do stay and want food. The waiter was super friendly and attentive. The lunch/dinner prefix was a good deal. Portion sizes were def enough to make you full. Would recommend the Noisette which is their take on a expresso martini. We were in NYC for the weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday and decided to give L'Accolade a try after reading the reviews. It's super cute inside but we decided to sit in the streatery. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious but man, was the service slow. Everyone seated around us ordered their food quickly and were served and on their way and we waited what felt like hours in between each course. We actually had to stop drinking for a bit because we were getting drunk waiting to get some food. But to the courses. I started with the Scallop Ceviche which was light and oh so flavorful. One of my friend's had the Beet Tartare and was raving about it days later. For the second course I had the Lamb Agnolotti, which was rich and cozy. A friend had the Housemade Duck Sausage and we also had the Beef Carpaccio for the table. And then we all had the Beef Strip Loin for the third course and it was coated in a perfectly crunchy, salty and savory bone marrow crust and just melted in your mouth. The meal combined so many great flavors that worked well together.They brought us a Creme Brulée with a birthday candle as a surprise and we gobbled that right up. For a three-course tasting menu with natural wine it was extremely reasonable. I'd recommend it to friends but only if they are willing to put in a few hours of time to enjoy. read more

I knew this place was a French restaurant but didn't know that they specialize in natural wine. A sommelier friend of ours (who isn't into natural wines) also recommended this place so you know it has to be good! L'Accolade is a few stores down from Five Guys. It's a very centrally located restaurant with many other cool bars, speakeasy's, and restaurants within a 5-min walk. Ambiance- the restaurant is very beautifully decorated. They definitely have an interior designer who borders on Mid-Century modern type design. Where we sat was right near all the wines on display and it was very cool. I would say this place is good for dates and smaller groups (maybe no more than 4). Drinks - they have an excellent happy hour offering. I think it's $12-14/glass or cocktail. The staff are more than willing to talk to you about your wine preferences, style that you like, etc. Don't be afraid to expand outside of your wine comfort zone - natural wines are not things I drink very often, but you'll find something you'll like. Just ask the waiter! Food - the food here pretty fantastic. Their happy hour offers some snacks under $10. They offer an a la carte option, a 2-course and a 3-course. You can mix the different options if everybody doesn't want to do a 3-course meal. I think you can also get 2 apps instead of an app and dessert. We both opted to do the 3-course option to try the desserts. Highlights of the meal were - the mushroom toast (amazing!), the scallops, and the key lime panna cotta. Everything else was good, and I would still recommend trying them. In terms of price point, I agree with others that this is bordering on 3 $$$, especially if you're looking to have a well rounded meal with at least 1 drink. read more

For the price, value, and experience, this place was well worth it. It's a good sit down place to enjoy a glass or two of wine with your girlfriends, significant other, or even coworkers. It gives off a classy vibe, and the food portions were pretty decent! Me and my friend got a three course meal, a glass of wine, and a dessert The beef tartare was okay, a bit too sweet for me. The tuna was super good and not fishy at all. The agnolotti and cavatelli were really good pastas but who can go wrong with pasta? My favorite was the duck; I've definitely had better duck but it was still tender and juicy. This is a place worth trying once! I was excited to come for Happy Hour, but unfortunately did not have a good experience. HH is until 7pm, $14 wines/cocktails, $10 martinis, and $1.50 oysters, so not an extraordinary deal. We had a few drinks and small plates to share, and then were told we had to order another large plate each because we had made a reservation. We understood that we had needed to order food, but we had already ordered many small plates and would have definitely ordered differently if we knew specific dishes were required with a reservation. With the multiple drinks and small plates we had ordered, we had already covered the cost of dinner. There were plenty of tables open, so we definitely should not have reserved. We ended up having to add on a $21 boiled artichoke and $26 tiny scoop of salmon tartare. It's a cute spot, but the food was average and you can get better HH deals elsewhere without being literally forced to order more. read more

Solid find. Chic without overdoing it. Cute French restaurant in West Village. The crab tortellini was a weird combination but the combination worked - nice hint of pistachio. The tuna crudo was tasty but I have my doubts as to whether the tuna was actually fresh. The meals of the night were for sure the mains - the lamb and the duck. The lamb was so clean and the garnish was simple yet just enough - cooked to perfection. They should've put more than one chop though lol. The duck was also cooked to perfection and extremely tender - a must. The sides for the duck were very well conceptualized. The Medovik cake for dessert was something I had never tried before and was very tasty - just the right size to finish the meal. Service was great, food arrived at a good pace. Waitress brought a delicious red wine that wasn't on the menu which was very thoughtful. Atmosphere was mid - quite a few empty tables for a busy Saturday night in West Village. This place is more like $$$, not $$. You're most likely going to want to order a glass of wine, which tacks on another at least $10 to the bill before tax n tips. Aside from that little dollar designation mishap which isn't assigned by the restaurant, this restaurant fits right in the West Village neighborhood! We decided to dine outdoors, which was a fairly nice setup albeit you will see the cars pass you by right within arms distance. With good people and good food, you will soon forget that. Otherwise, indoors is nicely lit with table candles and a warm atmosphere perfect for a date or to catch up with some friends, or just for a low key celebration of some sort. It was kind of hard to choose from the menu with so many choices. Opted to go with the hamachi crudo and english pea soup for appetizers; duck and cod for entree, and chocolate / panna cotta for dessert respectively. Everything was lovely! Even the complimentary baguette and creamy spreadable butter. Yes, details like this matter. Who wants rock hard butter if you can't spread it properly. Also, if your other half is accustomed to eating full on carbs and such, s/he will probably leave hungry but French food was never about epic portions. My friend and I stopped by for their happy hour, and I'm definitely keen to try their lunch/dinner offerings! I got the Martini Noisette and the Apricot Spritz - both of which were absolutely delicious and refreshing. We also got the shishito peppers and manchego cheese plate as snacks, and the panna cotta for dessert. The shishito pepper has this amazing accompanying butter sauce, and the cheese was yummy with a lovely onion jam. The panna cotta was also excellent. On top of everything else, the staff was so lovely and friendly. And the restaurant itself was so cute. I went the Eve Eve of Christmas and it was a memorable dining experience. I gave it 4 stars (if given the choice, I would give 4.8 stars) because I loved the plating, vegetable to meat ratio, service and all but my partner had a tough time with the vegetables on his plate. If you don't like vegetables, you may be hungry. Now onto the experience..! We had the 2 course menu of the: beef tartar, gnocchi, lamb entree and sirloin steak entree. All of it was refreshing and new. The plating was beautiful and the meats were all cooked perfectly. The beef tartar was fresh and delightful. The gnocchi was smaller than most gnocchis but the sauce and pasta together was special. The sirloin and lamb entrees were magical. While it was dark, I ate everything with no regret. The plates made sense. Harmonious! We couldn't have the desserts because we were so full. They are also special from other places as all of their wine are natural. We learned that because they were natural, there is a type of yeast that leaves a flavor palate different for every one. Lastly, the service and host were just fantastic. Never did we feel pushed or neglected. We were attended and were given the space to enjoy our food and each other's company. L'Accolade is such a gem of a restaurant. I've been here many times and it's delightful every single time. It offers consistently delicious seasonal dishes, a well curated wine list, and great service. This time we started with the yellowfin tuna crudo and watermelon salad. Both were incredibly fresh. Watermelon as a fruit can be hit or miss, but this watermelon was flavorful and had other interesting textural components in the dish as well. As a mid course we had agnolotti and cavatelli. The pasta in both dishes was cooked perfectly. For our mains we had the beef strip loin and the duck. The beef was tasty and the stuffed morels were a creative side. The duck was actually duck two ways - duck breast and duck confit. Both were well cooked. For dessert we shared a strawberry mille-feuille, which was a creative take on the classic. One of the owners seemingly recognized us from past visits, as he brought us a lovely digestif to enjoy with our dessert. L'Accolade changes their menu frequently based on what's in season, and every single dish is executed with creativity and technical skill. L'Accolade had been on my list for a while. Presentation was beautiful, can compete with a Michelin starred restaurant in my opinion. Some of the dishes were a bit plain. My favorite of the night were the watermelon gazpacho and dry-age duck. The generous amount of crab meat in the gazpacho elevated the dish to another level. My friend never had French food before so we came here to try it out. We came 15 minutes early but it was completely packed, so we went to the deli to buy some nuts to eat while we waited. When we came back, our table was ready for us. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the candle on our table made the experience more intimate. The waiter came by and explained they serve meals in courses. You can get the 2 course (appetizer and entree for $52pp) or 3 course (2 appetizer and entree for &65pp). We decided to share a 2 course and one entree between us. On the menu, the left and middle columns are the appetizers and the column on the right are the entrees. For appetizer, we had the scallop ceviche. For entrees, we had the Squid Ink Spaghetti and the Beef Strip Loin. The spaghetti was excellent! The beef strip loin was good, but very small and not filling for an entree. We left the restaurant satisfied, but our bellies were not full. WOW amazing restaurant. Better than some French place I've had in Paris! The portions are decently sized. I think you can do 5 dishes for 2 people. I was really blown away by every dish, but in particular my favorite was - Steak tartare. AMAZING. One of the best beef tartare's I've ever had. You MUST get this. - Beef cheeks gnocchi. Unreal. SO GOOD. My second favorite dish! - Lamb parparadelle. Another fantastic dish! I was honestly blown away. The food is amazingly well cooked, delicious, and very very rich in flavor. Highly recommend. Beef tongue with chestnut is amazing. The mango pistachios tart tastes just right. Lobster spaghetti is tasty. Scallop sauce is a little too sweet for me. This is the second time we have visited L'Accolade and now I feel it's safe to say that the sophisticated vibes, combined with warm, welcoming service, make this a great place to stop for a glass of wine and a snack. We sampled some interesting Reds, and shared the squid ink pasta with crab and bottarga, and felt very French while doing so. In fact, we bemoaned the fact that our last two trips to Paris failed to deliver any gems like L'Accolade! A step back into Paris! This restaurant recently re-opened on a limited menu, so I was a little hesitant, but I'm so glad we decided to go. My friend and I shared two starters and two entrees; we had the hamachi ceviche, the beef tartare, the duck, and the gnocchi. The hamachi ceviche had a passionfruit base, which was light and refreshing. The beef tartar was also refreshing as well, as they added in a sharp component to it. The gnocchi was really special and soft with a crispy outside, and paired so well with the mushroom, asparagus and egg. Lastly, the duck was good-- not super special, but paired well with the dried cherries. read more

I happened across L'Accolade when looking for dinner before a show. It was during Happy Hour before crowds came, so had no trouble walking in and received unimpeachable service. Really delicious food. Super small restaurant and seats are tightly packed. They were running behind on reservations and had to wait ~15 minutes to be seated. Portions are definitely on the smaller side but exquisite flavors. For the appetizer we had the duck papardelle ragú which was so great. For the entré, we had the cod and duck. The cod was so soft and the sauce was just absolutely delicious. The duck was unbelievably flavorful and the sauce was so delish! For dessert, I had the Mont Blanc and my partner had Apple Tart. Both phenomenal. Apple Tart is much lighter and less heavy than the Mont Blanc. read more

It's a creative spot, blending French technique and American classics (like their take on cheese sticks). It's all biodynamique, including the wines. KenScale: 8.0/10 I personally feel like New York City has too many natural wine bars, but over time my impression of natural wine has changed quite a bit mostly because I did try some pretty good ones without the distinctly funky taste that I hated so much when I tried the first natural wine. When I heard of another natural wine bar opening in West Village, my thought was "Urgh, how typical." But then I started hearing some good things about L'Accolade so I figured I could use this for a casual Friday dinner date with my wife Jun. Overall, it was a solid dinner. The menu at L'Accolade resembles that of a modern bistro in Paris, with French-centric dishes that are intended to go well with the wines. The restaurant has a la carte options as well as three-course options at $45 per person. We opted for the latter to try as many dishes as possible. For the starters, the Hamachi crudo with dashi and citrus was a solid one, although we would've liked a few more pieces. While I liked the touch of pomegranate sprinkled throughout the braised endive salad accompanied by chicories and walnut, the flavor of some parts of the vegetable was a bit too sour for my taste. The more successful dishes came from the main menu. Since we recently came back from a wonderful trip to Iceland, we were tempted to try the Icelandic cod with braised burdock, buckwheat and watercress that was quite delicious. Chicken, accompanied by petite vegetables and bacon, also displayed good texture and the seasoning was well-balanced. For the desserts, the concord grape and peanut accompanied by yuzu ice cream was solid, while the combination of spiced pear compote and vanilla parfait was a bit overpowered by the spice of cinnamon meringue. Getting a reservation at L'Accolade wasn't too difficult but the place filled out quickly on a Friday evening, so I do recommend booking in advance if possible. The charming modern bistro décor of the makes the restaurant a great option for a casual date night in West Village. Interestingly, the staff on our visit was mostly French. Our server gave us an opportunity to taste a couple of reds before we settled on a bottle from Languedoc, one of the regions that produces large quantity of natural wine, that was complex without the funky finish. The food at L'Accolade wasn't perfect but it was well-designed to eat alongside the wine. If you are looking for a new venue for dates, it is worth exploring the wine and food options here. read more

I was so happy to find this West Village neighborhood place that is NOT owned by Jody Williams.... While I love the food at Via Carota, Buvette and I Sodi, (and cocktails at Pisselino), the elitist attitude lately at these corporate restaurants has really turned me off (stopped by at 5 pm Sunday, and the brat at the door told me to check back at 11 pm!! TRUTH)......ok......now let's talk about L'accolade. Who knew you could actually chat with a nice bartender, drink delicious natural French wine and have good food on the same block as the other establishments I just mentioned. L'accolade has it all. Jacques was the loveliest, most welcoming barman. The owners are there to take your order and chat. The wine was delicious, most of them, small producers and biodynamic. We had happy hour snacks: gougeres; brussels sprouts w/ kimchi and apples and the BEST smashed potatoes w/ green goddess aioli. We moved on to delicious chicken liver mousse with shallots and braised endive. We were offered other wines that we were unfamiliar to try and loved them all. The hospitality at L'accolade blew us away. I guess I won't be eating my cacio e pepe at Via Carota anymore.....but this will do. Great little place, can't wait to come back and be welcomed.
