I was walking down little Italy and was greeted by L'AMORE's owner to give his place a shot. Let's just say I was not disappointed in any way. The food was beyond phenomenal. They make their pasta in house and you can definitely taste the quality. Highly recommend the lobster ravioli and the branzino in white wine sauce. Service and ambiance matched with great recommendations from the server including the cannoli at the end. Would definitely recommend this place to any pasta lover

While walking around little Italy we were feeling peckish when a server caught our attention and herded us into this wonderful establishment in good timing. He sat us at this gorgeous outdoor seating area and got us established with some water and fresh bread. The food was unbelievable, I had never before this moment tasted fresh noodles, it was completely different from what you usually get at any old restaurant claiming to serve 'Italian Cuisine'. The calamari was perfect and not chewy or overcooked whatsoever, even my mom who's not a huge squid fan enjoyed it! The seating area was clean and secluded as it surrounded you with real and fake flowers good for conversations with company! PS. Don't let the one star reviews based solely on pricing alone scare you away; if you were familiar with New York you'd know how pricing works, I personally believe the price matches the quality at this establishment!

I have to be honest, this felt like a tourist trap. We were at a festival in Little Italy and chose to sit down and have a bite at 5:30 on a Friday. No wait. The pasta was better than expected, but certainly nothing to write home about. I did enjoy that the noodles were al dente and it came out pretty quickly, but it's also very saucy which I'm not exactly fond of. It was a large portion so there is potential for leftovers. The wine on the other hand was terrible!! They had only "House Wines" available in a glass and trust me it's not worth the $15. After one sip I had to verify that they brought me the Cab. She was nice and offered me to try a different house red but it was honestly worse. I could tell they genuinely wanted to find me something I would enjoy so they ended up bringing a sample of the Malbec which still wasn't good, but better than the cab. Since I was going to pay for it regardless I drank that. I appreciated the effort, the staff was nice. I do believe it was overpriced for the quality though. Also be mindful that regardless of the group size (it was only two of us) the gratuity is already included!

I have been coming here for quite some time now and would definitely recommend. The place is small and intimate making it feel like a good place to get some food and to talk with some friends. The service was attentive, but didn't feel like they were on top of you. The only struggle is that it's in Little Italy and the area can get extremely packed at times. The bread they served in the beginning was nothing special and wasn't warm. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo and the penne vodka and they were both delicious. They were both extremely rich and creamy. If you're looking for a nice calm place to eat with friends and family, this is it.

This place was absolutely amazing from the moment that we walked in we ordered lasagna is absolutely delicious. Got pasta ravioli very very good. We had tiramisu and cannoli for dessert and it was excellent and the wine that we got a Pinot noir was the best wine I've ever had Highly recommend. Would come back.

Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for two and was seated quickly. We had warm bread set on our table shortly afterwards. Ordered the L'Amore martini and the shrimp scampi. It was good but a bit overpriced for $30. I will say the ambiance was noisy, but we were seated in a nicer area. Would recommend!

Well, i have to tell you. The pastas tasted great ! It's just a bit too creamy to my liking. The carbonara is not my favorite , because I like it more egg yolky than creamy. The meat sauce is delicious , but it's a bit too generic for me. The place offers authentic italian food but the pastas menu perhaps are not for me. One dish that you must try, is their marsala pasta !! I didn't have the chance to take a picture, but that pasta is DELICIOUS

Food here was ok nothing spectacular. Portions were big but be prepared to use lots of salt. Beat part of the meal was the mozzarella caprese. Lobster ravioli was completely tasteless and was drowning in sauce. Gnocchi was tiny little pieces and had no flavor. Service was just blah. Waiter did not want to engage in any way. He basically just stood at the table waiting for us to tell him what we wanted. Door person promised us a free appetizer when we came in. That is how he lured us in. At the end of the meal, the appetizer was charged and the waiter said he could not take it off. On the way out we mentioned it to the door person and he faked that he was surprised but did nothing about it. It's just a trick to get you in. The charge an automatic gratuity and some random "convenience charge" of 3.5%. Would not recommend. Our dinner for two was $200 and not remarkable at all.

This is a an EXCELLENT restaurant with delicious Italian food and excellent service. our family enjoyed lunch here In June 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything about our experience was outstanding. We were especially surprised at how large the lunchtime portions were! And EVERYTHING WAS VERY TASTY! My husband really enjoyed his veal Parmesan (pictured) There are lots of choices for dining in Little Italy but L'Amore is definitely one you should try. You won't be disappointed.

    Enisa K.

We had two entrees, and one appetizer. 2 drinks each - $188 with their standard gratuity. They automatically add 18% gratuity and some random convenience charges. Typically, I wouldn't mind paying but the service was TERRIBLE. We waited 45 minutes for our order to be taken. The servers were in such a rush that they wouldn't even come to the table to serve the food but extend their arm for us to grab it. The food was good. I do not recommend this place.

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

The restaurant was relatively spacious for Manhattan, with dim lighting and a beautiful floral exterior. They also had a great-looking antique bar. For drinks, I ordered the watermelon mocktail, but really was not a fan. I ended up swapping with my partner and drinking his non-alc beer instead. For starters, we shared the Insalata Di Caesar. This was a pretty mediocre Caesar salad, but got the job done. For entrees, most of us ordered pasta dishes but none of them were stellar. My Ravioli Di Crostacei was pretty bland and my partner's Spaghetti Bolognese just tasted like the pasta you could make at home. Service was friendly and they managed our large table well, but overall, I wasn't thrilled with Da Andrea.

Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.
