This is my first time trying L&L Barbecue chain. We bought takeaway of two plates, a Loco Moco and Garlic Shrimp. The taste was okay, but the portion is not big. They look so much different from the pictures. In the picture, the Loco Moco plate has two eggs and bigger patties, there was only one egg; for the Garlic Shrimp, there's Macaroni Salad and lemons in the picture, but they came with no Macaroni Salad and lemons in real life. I would rather go to Ono BBQ, which has bigger portion and is more flavourful, or Hawaiian BBQ in South Pasadena.

Great spam musubi! We ordered a platter for our GirlScout event, and these are the best! Flavorful with just the right touch of sauce, not overwhelmingly salty like other place's. We will be back!

3.5-4. I'm a fan of Hawaiian bbq, but won't go out of my way to come back to this location. Overall cashier was nice and helpful, food was okay- got the bbq mix to try all the proteins. The beef was a bit dry and the short ribs were more oily than other places I've tried. Chicken was okay too not too dry but wasn't juicy or exceptional. Steamed veggies were actually nicely steamed.. spam musubi with egg was good too. Inside is nothing to write about. I think the main thing is food quality/flavor didn't stand out or surpass your average Hawaiian bbq spot.

Can we say dingy boys and girls. This place needs a DEEP CLEANING and a touch of paint. I also most didn't want to eat here and I should've followed my instincts. I ordered a loco to go. The patties were dry and the meat was like jar gravy. I will not try this place again. I can say 5 stars for the cashier. She was wonderful!!

This review is based off of an Uber eats delivery and it was still pretty good. I ordered a bbq mix plate, fried fish plate and a loco moco. All the dishes were great and as expected. Cooked perfectly and delicious. The tartar sauce was a little off but about average. Overall it was a satisfying lunch and I'd definitely order from here again.

I was drawn in by the poster at the front advertising a spam musubi special and so I went in to go check it out. I was most interested by the variety of musubis they offer and ordered the Katsu Chicken musubi, Portuguese sausage musubi, and the original Spam musubi. The service was super fast and the store wasn't very crowded. There were indoor and outdoor tables so we sat outside. The chicken katsu was my personal favorite. It was crispy and flavorful and a unique twist on original musubi. The Portuguese sausage was also pretty good and had nice flavor. However, the spam musubi was a little lacking in freshness, and the seaweed and rice tasted a little cold. Overall, pretty nice small store. The location is convenient and they have ample parking as well.

Good portion is great. I like this L&L location better than other two in so cal I have tried. The curry is really good with the chunks of veggies such as carrots and potatoes. It is also not spicy but has spices you can taste. The chicken is not over fried nor greasy. The employees package the food Togo properly. It's a small store with a few tables.

Great Hawaiian option close to old town Pasadena! I was looking for a "lighter" (on the wallet) option that was still substantial in taste and filling. I saw a Hawaiian place close by and wanted to try it out! This is a chain so it has a corporate website with location info and menus. However you have to go through the delivery platforms to order; menus have no prices from the website and even the store hours are wrong (but Yelp as of today 2/13/23) has the correct hours posted. There are specials posted. Today was the chicken katsu sandwich. I also wanted a spam musubi and they had a spam and egg I wanted to try. I actually wanted to get a loco moco since the Uber Eats price was under $10 but coming in the store the posted price is higher. Maybe it's a different portion size. The staff was friendly. They were trying to fulfill the pickup orders but they started to call my order to the kitchen before they were ready to ring my order. That's nice to keep the kitchen moving! The musubi was as expected and tasty. It was a fried egg not Tomago. The katsu sandwich was flavorful so needed no extra condiments. It tasted substantial even at the special price of $4.99. Outdoors seating available, parking sufficient in a strip mall off Arroyo and California.

Garlic Spicy Chicken and Chicken Katsu. Pretty good! The spicy chicken is more mild.

Their musubis were hot and fresh when served. They were cut in half to fit in their to-go containers, which was thoughtful and convenient. The spam they used wasn't the traditional kind that we're used to seeing. It was thicker, but still tasted the same. There was also a lot of teriyaki sauce that off-set the salinity from the spam. There was more sauce than I'd like, it can get a bit messy when you eat them. It was delicious, none-the-less! I definitely recommend getting those. My husband enjoyed the Macadamia Pancakes! He said loved the cream on top and the portion was well worth the $9. The restaurant was pretty packed when we got there around 11am on Sunday. There is only one cashier, so the line will build easily and start to feel a bit congested. They have several menus available to peruse while you're waiting to order. Parking is tight and can be a challenge. We had to circle twice before we found one. Note, it is shared between them and another establishment. They offer seating indoor and outdoor in front and back of the restaurant. Both sides are shaded, it's a great option if you want to enjoy the breeze. I don't normally drive out this way, but I'm glad this passport forced me to come out to try this one. I would love to try their poke! Thanks, Aloha Food Factory, for the great food! We will coming back again.

I loved the batter: it was shatteringly crisp. The chicken was tender and flavored well, but I loved the sauce that came with it! For the mac salad, I thought it was just okay. The staff was helpful and friendly. However, the food was absolutely awful. We ate it anyway (wish we hadn't), but we were in a hurry and hungry. I ordered the Brick Chicken. Whatever spice rub they use must contain MSG because, today (the day after) I feel dizzy, upset stomach, my joints ache, and I have a headache. Last night, both me and my husband couldn't sleep because we both felt restless and squirrly. All usual after eating MSG. The rub was also dry, sandy, and extremely salty, so that tells me it's MSG. The mashed potatoes were cold and the veg was meh. In fact, the overcooked veg was probably the best part. My husband ordered the Loco Moco and I tried it. It was flavorless and dry. He told me it was, "not good." Someone needs to get into the kitchen and see what's going on. Also, don't use MSG for crying out loud. What year is it? If you want Hawaiian food, get a can of Spam, cook it up and put an egg on it. Canoe House is not good food. Cute place, decor wise, but really... don't chance it.

This place is mostly famous for their Turon. Just the right amount of crunch to sweetness ratio. I especially love that they have catering trays for everything you would want to bring to a filipino party. You can order their Turon in orders of 5 or more which gives you plenty of options if you want people to share. The pieces are pretty long so my tip would be to cut them in half to feed more mouths. Last time I went I got their lumpia and pancit bihon. My goodness!! Delicious and so fresh. The noodles I ate for days even after the party but everyone enjoyed it. I like the thin and thick noodles so happy they offered more than just the traditional pancit. Plenty of lumpia sauce was given and was thankful they hooked it up. The team at Chaaaste is phenomenal!! Honestly everyone is so friendly and kind. They always ask me about my day and curious where I'm going with all their delicious food. Barely any yuzu flavor, which was disappointing. Salmon needs to be salted a bit more. The nori wasn't crispy, however, it wasn't oily. Onigiri was mild in flavor overall. This was decent, but it wasn't addicting. Onigiri was a good size. If you're hungry, ordering two to three onigiris would suffice. BEEF SUKIYAKI ONIGIRI This did taste like beef sukiyaki. Could taste the sauteed onions too. But this also needed more flavor, more salt. The nori wasn't crispy, however, it wasn't oily. I enjoyed this more than the Salmon Yuzu. BAKED LOBSTER SHRIMP HANDROLL Ordered the wrong one. I thought this would be spicy. But they later told me they only have baked, not spicy for the lobster shrimp handroll. Only the onigiri is spicy and there's a spicy tuna for the handroll too. The handroll was underseasoned and it was just plain baked lobster and shrimp with rice. If you eat it with soy sauce and wasabi it might help a bit, but still so disappointed that no one told me this was not a spicy handroll! LYCHEE LEMONADE This was a bit sweet, but it tasted like lychee and lemonade. A good balance. It had real lychee in it too, which I appreciate. This was good! AMBIANCE + SEATS & TABLES The ambiance was very casual. As soon as you enter, you see the wooden and metal tables and chairs. Small tables for 2, table for 4, a bar seat table in the center and in the back. More smaller tables than large. It was comfortable to sit in. Tables are close together. Two unisex bathrooms toward the entrance. Bathroom was clean. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Person taking my order was nice. But he did not do a good job at explaining everything when I asked about the hand roll I was ordering. I guess misunderstandings can happen. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience at Rice & Nori. Not sure if I would return. Have had better onigiris at Japanese supermarkets.
