This is my first time trying L&L Barbecue chain. We bought takeaway of two plates, a Loco Moco and Garlic Shrimp. The taste was okay, but the portion is not big. They look so much different from the pictures. In the picture, the Loco Moco plate has two eggs and bigger patties, there was only one egg; for the Garlic Shrimp, there's Macaroni Salad and lemons in the picture, but they came with no Macaroni Salad and lemons in real life. I would rather go to Ono BBQ, which has bigger portion and is more flavourful, or Hawaiian BBQ in South Pasadena.

Great spam musubi! We ordered a platter for our GirlScout event, and these are the best! Flavorful with just the right touch of sauce, not overwhelmingly salty like other place's. We will be back!

3.5-4. I'm a fan of Hawaiian bbq, but won't go out of my way to come back to this location. Overall cashier was nice and helpful, food was okay- got the bbq mix to try all the proteins. The beef was a bit dry and the short ribs were more oily than other places I've tried. Chicken was okay too not too dry but wasn't juicy or exceptional. Steamed veggies were actually nicely steamed.. spam musubi with egg was good too. Inside is nothing to write about. I think the main thing is food quality/flavor didn't stand out or surpass your average Hawaiian bbq spot.

Can we say dingy boys and girls. This place needs a DEEP CLEANING and a touch of paint. I also most didn't want to eat here and I should've followed my instincts. I ordered a loco to go. The patties were dry and the meat was like jar gravy. I will not try this place again. I can say 5 stars for the cashier. She was wonderful!!

This review is based off of an Uber eats delivery and it was still pretty good. I ordered a bbq mix plate, fried fish plate and a loco moco. All the dishes were great and as expected. Cooked perfectly and delicious. The tartar sauce was a little off but about average. Overall it was a satisfying lunch and I'd definitely order from here again.

I was drawn in by the poster at the front advertising a spam musubi special and so I went in to go check it out. I was most interested by the variety of musubis they offer and ordered the Katsu Chicken musubi, Portuguese sausage musubi, and the original Spam musubi. The service was super fast and the store wasn't very crowded. There were indoor and outdoor tables so we sat outside. The chicken katsu was my personal favorite. It was crispy and flavorful and a unique twist on original musubi. The Portuguese sausage was also pretty good and had nice flavor. However, the spam musubi was a little lacking in freshness, and the seaweed and rice tasted a little cold. Overall, pretty nice small store. The location is convenient and they have ample parking as well.

Good portion is great. I like this L&L location better than other two in so cal I have tried. The curry is really good with the chunks of veggies such as carrots and potatoes. It is also not spicy but has spices you can taste. The chicken is not over fried nor greasy. The employees package the food Togo properly. It's a small store with a few tables.

Great Hawaiian option close to old town Pasadena! I was looking for a "lighter" (on the wallet) option that was still substantial in taste and filling. I saw a Hawaiian place close by and wanted to try it out! This is a chain so it has a corporate website with location info and menus. However you have to go through the delivery platforms to order; menus have no prices from the website and even the store hours are wrong (but Yelp as of today 2/13/23) has the correct hours posted. There are specials posted. Today was the chicken katsu sandwich. I also wanted a spam musubi and they had a spam and egg I wanted to try. I actually wanted to get a loco moco since the Uber Eats price was under $10 but coming in the store the posted price is higher. Maybe it's a different portion size. The staff was friendly. They were trying to fulfill the pickup orders but they started to call my order to the kitchen before they were ready to ring my order. That's nice to keep the kitchen moving! The musubi was as expected and tasty. It was a fried egg not Tomago. The katsu sandwich was flavorful so needed no extra condiments. It tasted substantial even at the special price of $4.99. Outdoors seating available, parking sufficient in a strip mall off Arroyo and California.

Garlic Spicy Chicken and Chicken Katsu. Pretty good! The spicy chicken is more mild.

Great customer service but very Americanized and franchised taste hence my 3 stars. It's far from authentic in my opinion.

The casual atmosphere out front and the lunch special banner lead us to believe we'd be having a cheaper dinner. We were ushered into a beautiful outdoor patio dining area, greeted by very friendly staff and supplied with carefully selected table settings. The environment was charming and relaxing. The menu was large and varied. We settled on a few things to try and wished we could have ordered more. The Greek salad was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced. The chicken breast kabob plate was so generous in its portions, the chicken skewers were huge. The rice was wonderful as was everything else. We also got the egg boat to share and the bread was incredible. We definitely want to go back and try other wood fired items there. I'm sure the pizza is wonderful if it uses the same bread. Pricing on everything was very reasonable considering all the factors. I definitely got the impression that this is run with love by a family. They were friendly and kind, and their love of food showed in every bite. Their pride in their endeavor showed in all of the little touches in creating a nice atmosphere. We will be back

The pork BBQ was the best meat we had, followed closely by the lamb chops. The chicken breast was very good but lost out in a tough competition. And we had the Adjarian Khachapouri again, because we could not pass up this mouth watering delight. A sumptuous mix of bread, cheese , egg and spices. This was my first time at the Pasadena location, although I've been to several of their other spots around the Greater LA area. I actually expected parking to be easier here, but somehow Pasadena's parking policies felt even more frustrating than LA's. It took us a while to find a decent spot on a Sunday, so keep that in mind if you're planning to visit We decided to go with the AYCE menu instead of just ordering from the happy hour menu. We also grabbed the $2.50 Kirin beer, which is an amazing deal. I only wish we had noticed it earlier--we ended up ordering it after dinner! Still, good beer is good beer, and I really liked the design of the beer cup As usual, the meat quality was solid. It's not the highest-end yakiniku you'll find, but it's definitely a step above your average KBBQ spot. The marinades are flavorful, although a few of the meats were a little on the salty side. My favorite items were definitely the garlic shrimp and the cold tofu. We did run into an issue with our first grill flaring up, so we had to move to another table, but everything was smooth after that. Pro tip: try not to overload the grill--it definitely helps keep things under control Service was another highlight. I really appreciated that the staff would jump in to help even if you weren't assigned to their section. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Even during busy moments when things slowed down a bit, they always made sure our orders made it to the table With upbeat music playing in the background and the lively atmosphere you'd expect from a yakiniku restaurant, it's a great place to enjoy good food, hang out with friends, and grab a few drinks. Just be prepared to spend a little extra time finding parking!

I only ever order takeout from this location and there's definitely things that could be improved. The location is on busy Colorado so parking is a nightmare. The workers here have absolutely no sense of urgency. Often I've been the only customer picking up and the speed of service could only be described as "meandering" to find and hand me my order. As previously mentioned, there's no issue with the food. It's juicy and flavorful. But there's inconsistencies like sometimes I get the side radish and utensils but other times not at all. The attitude of the workers you interact with are that of someone who has absolutely no pride in their work and are simply tolerating customers. It would go a long way to improve this location if workers were trained to do everything as efficiently and quickly as possible. The cost is also astronomically high for chicken. A whole chicken is $31 before any taxes or fees. It's not competitive with other Korean fried chicken places and you have to imagine part of the cost is due to the location. I would be sad if this branch closed, since it is closest to where I live, but it wouldn't be a shock that it did close. There's a lot of low hanging easy changes that could be made. Better training from management, more local deals, and focusing on customer service.
