    The Italian
    Amanda R.

I was visiting from California on vacation so I didn't know what to expect. I was asking about their toppings so the employees kinda figured I wasnt local. They were so friendly, welcoming and down to earth that made the whole experience of walking around downtown so much more enjoyable. I ended up ordering the Italian - they made it perfectly! I hate when I order sandwiches and they're too dry. This is a legit sandwich spot that uses fresh ingredients. My bf got the tuna and he ate the whole thing, where he usually never finishes his food. We'll be coming back because these sammys blow Subway and Jersey Mike's outta the water!

I finally ordered delivery from this popular spot, and I selected the daily special of Da' Brooklyn (Pastrami, Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese, Spicy Mustard, toasted on Seeded Rye, topped with pickles & BBQ Coleslaw), which sounded delicious! On opening up the pre-cut sandwich, I was struck by the color and ample layers of meats. The sandwich held itself together and was so delicious! I loved the flavor combos and the crunch. Now I can't imagine ordering anything but this special- and I'm excited to try their other combos. So good! There was no choice of size on the special on GrubHub, and I did find it smaller than I anticipated, roughly half the size of the full size turkey sub also ordered along with mine, but the sandwich was packed full and very filling. (I didn't fully realize it would be a sandwich and not a sub, but now I see that is clear in the listing)

Put Your Ham on My Thigh

Stopped by L-Dub Subs during the Downtown Lake Worth art show on Saturday and grabbed a sub to split with my boyfriend. We ordered the "Put Your Ham on My Thigh" (iconic name, honestly). The bread was super soft and fresh, and the chicken + prosciutto were sliced paper thin... like buttahhh. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The sandwich was big enough to share but still totally manageable, not one of those overstuffed, falling-apart situations. Perfect art show fuel. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent sandwich shop! We came here for lunch on a Monday. It was a group of 4 of us and we placed our order in person. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I did a build your own with Ham and Swiss and it was delicious! My fiancé had the Italian which was also delicious. If you're in a rush, or don't really want to wait that long, I would mobile order in advance. They were not slow by any means, it just obviously takes time to build 4 subs. So if you don't want to wait for them to be built order in advance. The shop itself is on the smaller side. There's about 2 tables of 2 inside and 1 table of 3 and a table of 2 outside. Nothing wrong with it, it's small, just plan to probably not eat at the place. Very delicious subs and friendly staff. Would recommend and would return!

It was very busy, which I completely understand, but the woman taking my to-go order was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Being busy is understandable, but it shouldn't affect how customers are spoken to or treated. The person taking orders is often the first interaction a customer has, and that experience matters. A little patience, professionalism, and courtesy goes a long way, even during a rush. I enjoy coming to Aioli, which is why I hope management takes this feedback constructively and is more mindful of who is interacting with customers at the counter.

I decided to get matzah ball soup and half a corned beef sandwich on rye. The soup was very good. And it was served first, and was hot in a small bowl. My husband really liked his beef cabbage soup, too. My sandwich, however, was awful. The bread was decent, but the meat tasted so processed -- like baloney. After we pointed it out, the manager told me it had been cut wrong (with the grain). He cut some more corned beef "correctly" and brought it back. It still wasn't very good. Slightly better, but I told my husband it could have been canned ham. The manager said they changed suppliers a few years back. I think they need to change again. My husband's chopped liver was a much better choice. It came with lettuce and tomato. Oh, and of the sides, I liked the red bliss potato salad better than their coleslaw -- which had a lot of mayo in it. Bottom line -- come for breakfast or deli, but skip the corned beef.

We decided to try the pulpo anticuchero (octopus) as our starter. Holy moly it looked so amazing we didn't want to cut into it but that anticucho sauce was so full of garlic flavors we demolished it along with the potatoes and tomatoes. Listen that sauce was so tempting that we risked cyclospora disease by eating the lettuce. The soup of the day was minestrone which I'm not a fan of but it was a flavorful pesto base so I enjoyed. For my entree I got the pollo la pobre. The grilled chicken breast is always juicy and comes with a fried egg on top if you're looking to up your protein and a ton of rice that I usually cannot finish. I mainly just stuck with the fries on this one. I was so full I could barely eat the sweet plantains. I came back a second time, and she actually remembered me, which made the experience even more special. She even threw in an order of spring rolls for my son and me, jokingly saying, "I gave you extra so you won't have to fight with your son!" She was absolutely adorable and had such a great sense of humor. The Vietnamese coffee was bold, robust, and perfectly sweet--it kept me going all day. The pho was served piping hot, fresh, and full of vibrant flavors. I also ordered the fried duck with rice and vegetables, and it was absolutely delicious. It even held up well on my drive home. The duck stayed crispy and hot, and the flavorful sauce on the vegetables tied everything together perfectly. I also tried the grilled pork vermicelli bowl with peanuts. I ordered another one with chicken and asked for it without peanuts because my son has a nut allergy. It was delicious--almost like a deconstructed pho without the broth. As good as it was, I still prefer the pho because the broth is, hands down, the best part. It's rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth coming back for. The portions are generous, so you'll easily have enough for two meals. Please check out this spot and show this hidden gem some love. We started by choosing our base. My husband had the tom yum (kha?) one and our granddaughter had the classic and I chose the chicken one. My base started out a bit salty, but after all the additions it was perfect -- no need to add extra soy or salt to the broth. For sauces I chose two standards -- hoisin sauce and a mix i made of some soy sauce and vinegar (which I used for the dumplings). At our leisure -- it's all you can eat -- we tried many of the offerings. We skipped most of the exotic ones -- except my husband who happens to like chicken feet. I went for the seafood first. And liked most of what I chose, especially the large prawns which were my favorite. And I also really liked the rounds of shrimp paste. The clams were tiny, but good. The blue crabs were small and awkward to eat when so hot. I'd skip them next time. I also tried some beef and pork, but found the seafood options more to my liking. Of the veggies, I had a mix just to try a number of things. The baby bok choy leaves, the cabbage, and the bean sprouts were good, but I fell in love with those tiny little enoki mushrooms. My least faves were the taro and the hard squash For dessert, they also have fresh fruit (cherries, etc.) and cake squares on the buffet. And a separate ice cream bar. I liked their green tea ice cream the best. We were so stuffed when we left. But happy campers. We felt the price of the AYCE was well worth it here. We'd definitely come again. I think it's more fun with a group.

It was filled with people enjoying incredible food, and you could tell this place was a local favorite. Of course, I had to start with one of their Greek beers, served in a traditional beer mug, which was the perfect way to kick off the meal. We also ordered the tzatziki and hummus sampler, and I'm so glad we did. The flavors were unbelievable, and they were incredibly generous with the warm pita bread.
