Gave great advice and I just got the sense she had the experience and know-how to fix my hair coloring issue. I scheduled a blow out for a wedding and was surprised they had availability on such short notice. I found it odd that no pricing was listed on the website. I assumed being from Boston that it would be competitive with the $45-55 rate here in the city. When I inquired I was told it started at $45 and depended on hair length. In the end when I went to pay I was charged $75. I was shocked and felt a little taken advantage of. Never have I heard of a blow out being so expensive. I also would've thought that once I arrived and they saw my hair they would inform me of their $30 up charge. I will also add that may hair is not that long and reaches maybe 2 inches past my shoulder blades - not even mid back length. This was extremely disappointing and I felt incredibly deceived. I have been going to this salon for a few years now and Elizabeth cuts and styles my hair just perfectly. Somehow after a cut my hair just falls into place and is styled just right for the shape of my head. With very little direction Elizabeth knows just what to do. Came here for a manicure pedicure while I was in town. The woman was nice and it was a good experience, but nothing outstanding to justify the price tag. I got my nails done on Friday afternoon before the rehearsal dinner and by Saturday morning they were already chipping. Am new to the Newport area - recently relocated from California - I was fortunate enough to find an AMAZING hair colorist/ stylist. Elizabeth at L'elegance Salon is an expert colorist and stylist. I was very nervous having to find a new stylist/colorist and am grateful to have found Elizabeth and this salon. I was also in need of finding a professional to tint my eyelashes . I have been tinting my eyelashes for several years when I lived on the West coast and was having no luck finding a place that would perform this service. When I asked Elizabeth if she could recommend a place that provided this service she informed me that this is a service she also offers at the salon. In all my years having my eyelashes tinted they never looked better and in the past my eyes would always sting but Elizabeth is a true expert and professional in this area and my lashes look fabulous and not once did the procedure sting my eyes. I can not say enough good things about Elizabeth and her salon - I have been coming here now for 6 months and every appointment has been an awesome experience - highly recommend !!!! read more

I came to this salon for an event updo as part of my extended summer stay in Newport. I'm not sure if it was because I was not one of their "repeat regular" clients, but I felt I was completely taken advantage of and ripped off. My stylist was not at all concerned and never bothered to even ask whether I was happy with my $100 + tip updo she maybe spent 20 min. working on. She was extremely smug and borderline rude and I ended up looking like a teen headed off to the prom. Maybe that was because she was too busy with cracking inside jokes with the other stylists and regulars, but not only was I not happy with my expensive updo, I was downright uncomfortable. My stylist was so abrasive, I was afraid to even say anything about not being happy with my hair and just wanted to get out. I would not patronize this business again or recommend the experience to any of my friends. read more
