1lb barbacoa sin hueso , consomé chico , pulque , jamaica

I search BARBACOA and got sent to a different place.. upon re doing my search I stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised. They have PULQUE natural and sell barbacoa by lb. Read the other reviews but wasn't discouraged.. this place is called the BARBACHA, they sell barbacoa and that's the house speciality. Ordered by the lb, got a small consomé- food was hot/ ready to eat, soft meat falling apart. Salsa roja was great and tortillas echas a mano

Barbacoa Lamb plate, tender, delicious. So was all the rest. Recommended 2024.

English and Spanish review. I came here the other day not knowing wat to expect. Walk in, the place was empty. I got attended by two very nice ladies. Didn't know what to order and was trying to budget. She comes back to the table with two salsas red and green and a boat of chips. Still couldn't decide so Instead I asked the cook what she recommends. She pointed to a single plate that was pricier than the rest, but in her confidence on how good it was, I didn't hesitate. Once served I was said to myself. 'Ohhh yeah, she wasn't playin'. A plate with about a quarter pound maybe more of succulent moist Lamb meat, came with rice and beans that were really good. Served with 4 chunky freshly made tortillas. & a side soup which the base is Aju/broth of what the lamb is cooked in. The soup contained garbanzo beans and 3 little side bowls of cilantro , onions , and limes. I would definitely recommend it if you are into Lamb meat or anything similar. This place good. They also serve a WHOLE steamed lamb head. That's what I'm getting next time. If your into cabeza and lengua or even beef cheeks for that matter this I know, is going to be good. Will be back!

Nice cozy little Mexican place when you walk in. Food is freaking bomb they give you ample service so you might want to share with people. Salsa roja is bomb, but if you're not used to chili you might not want it impacts the kick. I ordered the wet burrito and let me tell you I am a huge eater and I could not finish this burrito it is massive it's probably best for two people to try to take this bad boy down. Although I did take down a big taco Barbacoa. Tlacoyos are also bomb. Come hungry

Metered parking in front with 2 small tables.

La Barbacha - Barbacoa estilo Hidalgo - 2510 Cesar Chavez This is my first time here. Delicious. The tortillas are handmade. The hot sauces are tasty and hot. The food is tender and well seasoned. The rice, beans and fideo were just like as if mom made them. I recommend. No beer.

In town on a taco crawl with some local friends of mine. They had suggested this place because of the quality and reputation of the food. Simple, we had a pound of barbacoa and tortillas. Combined with the salsa, cilantro, and onions the taco was tender and very flavorful. Based upon the food, I have nothing but the highest praise here. ALTHOUGH!!!!!!... I absolutely love jugo de zanahoria (carrot juice) and when I see it on a menu at a Mexican restaurant, I usually jump all over it as it pairs well. Also, because it takes quite a few carrots to yield a glass of jugo, I appreciate any place that commits to putting it on their menu. THAT SAID, if you're going to "stretch" your jugo out with ORANGE JUICE to fill the glass and try to pass it off as jugo de zanahoria, I'm going to call you out on it every time! The food was great, but trying to get away with something and sneak it by me just makes me feel disrespected and makes me wonder what other corners they're cutting.

I discovered La Barbacha after watching an episode of chef's table where they featured a tacoria in Philadephia that specialized in lamb barbacoa. I thought I'd google to see if there was a comparable place and La Barbacha popped in my search. It was a hot summer afternoon when we came to the restaurant, the server were very accommodating and asked if it was our first time. It took us a while what to order, aside from the barbacoa. We ended up getting 3 orders of the gorditas, a jamaica, and a horchata. The food was delicious and came in a lot of serving alongside a serving of soup. We were stuffed after our meal. I definitely plan on coming back and recommending this place to my friends for some delicious barbacoa! The salsa they make is amazing and definitely adds on to the food.

My Taco De Barbacoa best red salsa but it's spicy.

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

The waiter recommended the crispy shrimp taco, but I actually enjoyed the vegetarian tacos more. I love cauliflower and poblano so that taco was a great starter. So much flavor and a variety of textures. The tortillas were super flavorful too. The potato taquitos came next and I am actually obsessed.
