I didn't like that the paella isn't cook to order so basically it's arroz precocinado and then if you choose seafood they just place it on top. I've gone a few times and the food has been cold not even warm. I went again on Friday July 2nd to give it a chance again. When I got there the waitress sat us down on the bar table. It took forever for them to even realize that we were sitting there I told the waitress can we get someone to serve us some drinks. We ordered food once again the food was horrible the service was even worse I told the lady that I would never go back I do not recommend this place to anyone do not waste your time or money the place is a complete failure. In the mood for excellent Spanish tapas and wine? Then this is the place for you! And, as an added bonus, you will get a traditional Spanish show, all for a very reasonable price. This is a hidden gem in Hialeah that is definitely worth going to. Do not be misled by the fact that it is located in strip mall in Hialeah. When you walk in the door, you will be transported to what looks like a traditional restaurant in Spain. I went there because my cousin was still in town during the holidays and had heard about La Bodeguita from one of his clients. So he invited a group of us to meet up on a Saturday night. I must admit I was a bit hesitant to go at first. But once there, I was so glad that I made the drive to Hialeah to join them. We started off with tapas and a pitcher of sangria. The serrano ham, manchego cheese and olives platter was served with a basket of their yummy warm bread. Goes perfect with their sangria or red wine. We also ordered the tostones (green fried flat plantains) filled with shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. For the main dish, I shared the paella with one of my cousins since I had a late lunch and wasn't too hungry. I wish I had had room for more because the paella was excellent. They serve large portions and it comes with the sweet plantains. By the way, the service and attention to detail was very good. As we were enjoying our dinner, the show started. On Saturday nights, they feature a traditional Spanish singer who sings beautifully. And she also walks around the room and gets the audience to participate with the songs. Even if you don't know the songs, you will thoroughly enjoy watching her performance. That night I had the pleasure of meeting Miguel, the owner of La Bodeguita. He was such a pleasant and warm gentleman. I learned from talking with him that they also have slightly different shows during other nights of the week. I told him I would like to celebrate my mom's birthday there, and he recommended that we call in to make reservations because the place fills up. And he was right, the restaurant was completely packed! We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back to try more of their Spanish cuisine and enjoy the shows. When I met Michael , the owner a couple of years ago I told him I would come by and try his restaurant, but I did not think it would take me this long to go and find out what I had been missing. As soon as you walk in you get a warm inviting feeling backed up by a welcome greeting that makes you feel right at home. We were seated right away and the exceptional service was evident immediately. Our server recommended some tapas and we ordered a couple of more and as all well. I can't say enough how well the plates were prepared and presented and tasted great. We did tapas but I am sure anything on the menu is good and we can't wait to go back on the weekend to enjoy the music. I have been to this Spaniard restaurant a couple of times and finally needed to write a review. I always enjoyed the picaña ($13). The portions are pretty decent and the food is delicious. On Saturdays they have live music with flamenco, they do charge each person an extra amount for it. On Sunday's they have a gentleman singing and playing piano. Tonight we went to La Bodeguita for the first time. We heard about this restaurant at an event called Croqueta Palooza and this stand had hands down the best croquetas so we knew we had to go in person. Hubby and I ordered quite a bit: Empanadas - over cooked and filling was extremely salty. Pleasantly surprised at this place. Cabernet wine was delicious. Disappointed they did not have Cidra or Ensalada Rusa available. The homemade bread was delicious and garlicky with olive oil. Ordered Serrano y Manchego croquetes which were crispy fried. Also Boquerones which were delicious. We shared Paella which was a hefty portion with fried plantains. The paella was good but it was not quality. The rice seemed to be long grain (not bomba) but it was moist. The lobster in the paella was impossible to pull out of its shell and the crab claw was not cracked so we could not enjoy it. The one thing that was disturbing is that they added fake crab meat to the dish and this is an absolute No ! To end our meal we ordered a Bombon and unfortunately the cuban coffee in it was cold and did not allow for the condensed milk to mix. Will return to try out other dishes. read more

This place is a great little gem hidden in Hialeah. It's quaint but full of life, especially if you go during the shows. I've had just about all of their tapas (Spanish appetizers) and I must say that they are all very good, especially the tostones filled with shrimp. Everything is reasonably priced compared to other Spanish restaurants in the Miami area. They have a decent selection of Spanish wine, but they also have Cabernet, Merlot, etc. The baby churrasco was a bit salty, but it didn't take away from the rest of the food/experience. I highly recommend the tostones rellenos and the tabla with manchego and Swiss cheese, Serrano ham, soppressata, chorizo and salami. On Saturday nights there is a performer from Spain who brings the whole restaurant to life. She engages the audience, has a great sense of humor and performs Spanish songs with a young man from Venezuela. Both are great. Wow Wow Wow!! I've worked in Hialeah for years and now I'm just learning about this place! We came to have a late dinner on a Monday night. I tried the croquetas:ham, ham and manchega cheese and the cod fritters. They were awesome!! I also had the caldo gallego! Omg! Wonderful!!! My husband had the churrasco, my friend had the rice with shrimp. They said it was fabulous. This place is a gem. I will be back! I love finding unexpected gems. This Hialeah Spanish restaurant in a small strip shopping center with only one other establishment should not deter you from visiting. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and inviting with a great wine selection of Spanish wines. They also have a bar area and offer $.95 draft beer Mon-Fri 5-7pm for happy hour and 20%off all wine bottles. For starters we ordered a Tabla Mixta which had 4 different Spanish meats and two cheeses, great price for the quantity $14.95. The Arroz con Marisco was flavorful and was only $11.95. We also had the Pargo Frito (Whole fried Snapper) and Lacon con Papa. Everything was amazing and portions were huge. Service was also on point. My momma bear lives in Hialeah and I'm sure that I have driven right by this place many times. Yet, I never knew it was there. When we visit mom, we always struggle to find a decent place nearby. So in my quest for something new, I (of course) checked on Yelp. And once again, I was not led astray. Our first visit was on a late Sunday afternoon, after the post-church crowd and before the dinner rush. What you see on the outside, is totally different from what's inside. The place is super cute and reminiscent of a typical bar in Spain. Menu prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are generous. We were greeted immediately by our friendly server. Who by the way, didn't call me mamita, mami, or mi reina. Not even once! That alone deserves 5 stars. Major pet peeve of mine. Actually, service throughout was very friendly and professional. We started with a full pitcher of sangria and croquetas as an appetizer. Then we each ordered a variation of their rice dishes. My mom chose the one with shrimp, I got chicken and my hubby ordered the paella. The portions were very large and I personally ate chicken & rice leftovers for two days. All the food was delicious! Although I was stuffed, I never say no to dessert. So Crema Catalana it was. It was very good but the texture is different than what I'm used to. It felt airy as if meringue was folded into the cream. I still managed to polish it off though. That was Sunday. Tuesday, we had to return to Hialeah. As luck would have it, it was Tapas Tuesday at La Bodeguita! Hell yeah! We stuck with tapas but we kinda over did it. We tend to do that a lot when it comes to tapas. Five different tapas, (including shrimp & pork chunks) a glass of sangria plus a dessert. Our total was about $24 and we had left overs for the next day. I was a little hesitant to try this place because I felt like I was betraying my usual tapas spot but after my experience, I definitely don't have any regrets! The only reason I am giving it four stars is because our waitress wasnt very attentive but I absolutely loved everything about the place. The outside does not do it justice. I loved the set up, the lighting and the décor inside. The menu is pretty hefty so it was pretty difficult to choose what we wanted on our first visit. The place is pero quaint but the wine selection is wonderful and there is a lot to choose from. I was particularly impressed by the varieties of sangrias they offer as well as their extensive craft beer list, which I never expected to find in a small place in Hialeah. What we ordered: -Patatas Bravas- basically small fried potatoes with a spicy aioli. They were tasty and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them but out of everything we ordered they were the least impressive. Again, not because they were bad but because everything else was amazing! -Cod Coquettes- alright, I'll admit that I was a little nervous about ordering these. I could have easily gone with the safer choice of ham croquettes but I believe good Spaniard restaurants should make good cod dishes. I'm a bit of a harsh critic when it comes to cod because it was a common dish for me growing up and any time we had it, it was made by a Spaniard friend of the family. These were outstanding! Not overly salty, very pleasant texture. It had a certain creaminess to it that was absolutely wonderful. The only way is I can describe is that it felt like what a crab Rangoon croqueta would taste like if you replaced the crab with cod. Dolphin Fingers: phenomenal. Tasted super fresh and not overly breaded. My only complaint was that I wish they would have provided my lemon wedges but it didn't make or break the dish. Tostones Rellenos with Chorizo: fried plantain cups stuffed with ground chorizo. I originally wanted to order them stuffed with shrimp but I changed my mind last minute and I'm glad I did! These were scrumptious. Way better than the basic ground beef stuffed ones you find in most restaurants. BBQ Surf and Turf Skewers: Chicken. Sausage. Beef. Shrimp. Onions. Green Peppers. Amazing! All that plus a pitcher of craft beer came out to about $80. It might sound pricey to some but the quality of the food is definitely worth it! I can't wait to go back and try their paella and arroz campesino as well as their sliders! They also have a great happy hour ( draft beers less than $1 Mon-Fri), karaoke AND live performances. Hialeah's New Restaurant! Before I'm accused of discrediting Hialeah. I was born and raised here but the majority of us can agree that we don't have very many great places to eat. Often times us Hialeahns have to wander to find a place of quality food without compromising service. The search is over. I discovered the place a couple weeks ago when I was invited for a friends birthday celebration. Upon entering I was surprised by the traditional layout and decor. On display, they offer a selection of what easily looks like 100 different types of wines. We shared several appetizers. My favorite, the Latin Nachos on plantain chips with churrasco. Our server, Erick was kind enough to help choose the perfect wine. The place is perfect for any occasion. I highly recommend and will update on my next visit. read more

So I went here on two separate occasions the first time we dined in and everything was excellent. I had ordered the Arroz con pollo and a cocktail. I was pleased. The second time wasn't as nice. We ordered over the phone, I ordered the Snapper filet, and my bf must have read an older menu online but asked for ropa vieja, the lady over the phone clearly didn't understand but said sure we can make that (no they can't). When my boyfriend went to pick up the order they sent him back and forth. Frozzen stuff, from freezer to microwave, no saute, no nothing. Viscayne cod were good. Spanish white wine for $22.00. We ordered a second bottle and they found ours was the last in stock. The only other Albariño available cost $25.00. At the end the gave us a coupon for a bottle of wine for a party of four. Parking lot is small. Wide variety of beers. Went there last week. They didn't have black beans. A Cuba staple dish. They add some unlisted items to the bill. Add schrimps to the Palomilla steak and charged $ 5.00 for it.
