Thankfully for my pleasant surprise, it wasn't too scary. I've read other places have employees come in and scare you, but this had none of that. The room remained semi lit too! Staff were extremely nice and welcoming. We felt very comfortable and really enjoyed our experience there. We will definitely be back as we'd like to try the harder rooms. The space itself is very clean and spacious. There's parking right across the street in a structure. It's right in the heart of downtown Long Beach so there's so much going on. Since I knew I would be there all weekend, I convinced two of my friends to join me in the go kart shenanigans. Armahni(?) and his girlfriend took us around the lake and alongside the canal for an hour or so ride. The best part was when we had the chance to "put the pedal to the medal" (as my grandmother would say lol) and race each other. To actually be able to ride the karts outdoors instead of indoors, and not be on a track made the experience even better. Good times! If you haven't done this yet, you're missing out! : )

I must say that while the duo tried their best at accommodating the students, their equipment was a bit lacking. The draw weight in the bow I used was next to nada. My try-everything-at-least-a-hundred-times husband agreed. Still, while my hubby and I were a bit disappointed with the private instruction and the equipment, this Sunday afternoon (2/23/20) was a perfect day to try new things. Other Highlights: + restrooms on site + our troop was able to bring snacks and drinks + picnic area right next to archery area + plenty of free parking + clean, safe grounds As long as COVID-19 does not ruin summer camp, there should be plenty of activities and day camps geared toward "developing teamwork skills and strengthening camaraderie." We started out doing group activities that challenge team work, patience, active listening, communication, problem solving, and thinking about others. I loved the creativity and variety in the activities, it kept everyone actively engaged and nobody ever got bored. It might have been because we were all adults and they are used to a much younger clientele, but I hoped our group leaders would be a little more enthusiastic working with us since our group was a little low energy at some points. The second half of the day was more focused on personal goals and achievements, pushing your limits, and trusting in yourself and others. This one should be full of encouragement. Some of us were a lot more game for the ropes course than others but everyone did feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction at the end of the day. If you have never tried a ropes course/team building activities like the ones here at Camp Fire USA, I highly recommend it! It is a great experience and you'll make many fun memories!

Whenever we have family or friends visiting from out of state or overseas, it's one of our favorite activities because it's a relaxing way to see the Port of Long Beach, the Queen Mary, and, if you're lucky, the sea lions. We brought another group yesterday, and everyone enjoyed the tour. The only downside, in my opinion, is the boats used for the harbor tour. Yesterday we were on the Kristina, and in the past we've also been on the Caroline, which we chartered for my mother's ash-scattering ceremony about 14 years ago. Both vessels are showing their age. I also think the marketing could be clearer. The photos on the website and many travel sites prominently feature the newer catamarans, which gives the impression that those are the boats used for the harbor tour. I actually called ahead to ask and learned that the harbor tours use different vessels. While I appreciated getting the correct information, many first-time visitors probably wouldn't think to ask and may expect the newer boats shown in the advertising. The harbor tour itself is still worthwhile, and we'll likely continue bringing our guests because we genuinely enjoy the experience. I just hope Harbor Breeze considers updating or refurbishing the harbor tour vessels and making the marketing a little clearer so guests know exactly what to expect.

There's street parking and different structures you can park in as well. It's also on the second floor of a plaza, pretty easy to find. The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! This is a great activity either for date night or a friends night out! I would definitely come come back with friends and utilize the Groupon again!

Our instructor was great! Downfall - parking isn't all that easy. You park on the street and have to pay a few bucks as it's metered parking. After 6p it's free parking I believe.
