You need to come inside! Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is welcoming, with great staff that makes you feel like you belong. Here for Cuentos en la Cantina event showcasing local talent. Fun and entertaining event engaged in story telling. Good selection of craft beer and a variety of delicious margaritas. Worth checking out

La Bufadora Bar is the happiest place on Earth. I walked into this hidden gem on Easter 2025 for some day drinking and Morrissey Karaoke and little did I know that this place would be the catalyst for the system reboot I needed in my life. I found family here, I found love, I found heartbreak, and I found a community that helped this 50 year old, single dad of 3 find healing and joy. Ané, the owner and bartender on most nights, not only is gifted in putting together authentic flavors in his drinks but more importantly he brings authentic people together in community. I've made forever friendships at this bar, people I love deeply. The bar is a welcoming and safe space for all. If you love great music, great company, and great drinks- La bufadora is the spot for you. I'd put this bar up against anyone else's in LA. It's also the cleanest bar I've ever been to as well. The bar is definitely open. Hope to see you there. Tell 'em Sad Dad sent you!

I believe this place is a cool little hidden gem. It seemed like a lot of locals go to this bar perhaps it has been there for a while and that is why it has lots of character...(but it's now under new management) Decor was unique, definitely a bar where people are friendly and nice! My friends and I probably tasted all the cocktails and I have to say they were all delicious. They had live music on Sat, and let me tell you, I didn't expect it to be so good! I was going to just grab a drink and go, but I ended up staying until the sets were finished! I will definitely go back to this place for more!

My husband and I came here on a morrissey karaoke night. It was definitely a cool vibe with cool people who were very into morrissey. I think almost everyone there sang. It's pretty small and the bar is crafty. They didn't have menus available and from what I could see behind the bar there was only agave, tequila and beer. But I could be wrong! I tried one of the morrissey inspired drinks (Mozgarita) and it was tasty. There wasn't much parking but we got lucky and found a spot around the corner. The owner, Ane, seemed like a very cool guy. He was very nice at making drink recommendations since it was our first time there. We will most likely be back!

Ane the bar owner / bartender is a whole vibe! First time here and first thing he does is offer me a shot once I hit the bar! He also served housemade chapulines. First time trying crickets.. a little nervous.. but it was tasty! This is an agave / tequila bar. I had two delicious margs on the rocks and it was phenomenal. Ane makes his own home made fruit puree/juice and does not use syrups. My man had his micheladas and it was also yummy. The atmosphere is awesome! It's a hole in the wall speakeasy and everyone is super friendly! We went on a karaoke night on a Sunday and it was super fun. They do comedy nights, cover band, local DJ, and as mentioned KARAOKE NIGHT! Definitely recommend!

Bufadora Bar, off Indiana stop for Eastside / Santa Monica E Metro Line, is clean, and tidy, deceptively large adult drinking establishment. Dogs, outside food is welcomed. The bar snacks of Chex Mix and Grasshoppers are free. Karaoke on Sunday afternoons. TK

From the moment my friends and I walked in, we were impressed by the stylish Mexican decor, warm lighting, and upbeat yet relaxed atmosphere. Immediately, we were greeted by the friendly bartenders. The cocktail menu is creative and well-balanced, featuring one of a kind delicious house specials and refreshing Mexican craft beers. I tried one of the house specialties and it was delicious, smooth and flavorful with a beautiful presentation. The service was top-notch, with no wait time on the drinks. If you're looking for a new go-to bar, this is it. Can't wait to come back!

Karaoke on Sundays is great for trying new material. The afternoon crowd is very supportive. TK

Great service. Friendly people. Many craft beers, The specialty drinks are really good. It's a great place to have a good time and unwind. This is my second time and the bartender and owner are so sweet. And let's not forget the great music of all types. It is very clean. The bathroom is very well kept. Highly recommend you visit.

I have been coming to this bar since before COVID and the transformation to now is unbelievable. The actual bar itself is stunning and has a lot of televisions to watch sporting events. My friend and I came on a Saturday night and we enjoyed the great music selection and drinks. If I had a drink to recommend a delicious drink it would be the Pina Culiada. This is definitely the best bar in East LA/Boyle Heights!

the bar manager is super cool and designed the art inside the bar. it's a small bar but it's really cozy and has a great music playing. the drinks are great and they're made with homemade juices rather than syrups. the manager was super generous and made us feel right at home. definitely one of the best bars in east la!

My partner and I were looking for a menu. I asked "do you have a specialty cocktails menu or a regular menu somewhere?" and she said a short no and said any regular bar drink will do. After she goes back on her phone to scroll, I turn my head and see a menu with some basic cocktails and their variations (which is what I initially asked about). Once my partner was ready to order palomas for us, we try getting her attention and kinda stared and waved hands, but she continued to scroll on her phone. It took her coworker to talk to her. THEN, she makes our palomas and stops to tell us her soda gun isn't working, so she couldn't top it off with soda. Fine cool, assuming she'll give us a small discount, but she charges us $24 for two palomas. So really we just paid for lemon tequila drinks that should've just been $16 for both. Palomas don't cost that much either. Should be just like $10, unless the Paloma is presentable then yeah $12 is fine. So, she ripped us off, didn't offer any accommodation for it, and was pretty distant and careless with her job. Anyway, don't come here if you care about customer service. Kinda strange here because this looks like a hot spot and charming, but they got the wrong people working here honestly. Something's up with management or a lack of boosting morale.

I don't recall seeing an elevator so call before hand if you're in a wheel chair or are on crutches, because you have to go up a flight of stairs to get into the venue. Inside, it's cute and definitely looks like an old dance hall from the 1900's. I'd say this was a medium sized venue. The stage wasn't terribly high off the ground. There's a big, beautiful, bar and a disco ball and it has a lot of charm since it's an older venue. Seeing a show here feels less stressful than seeing one in downtown or Hollywood. It's not my favorite venue but it's definitely a good time and more intimate than the downtown venues and free parking is always a plus.

But once you find it, it's large, gated, and has a couple attendants watching the cars. You go upstairs and it opens up into a decent sized space. Large enough to hold people and dance, and small enough that you can see the band from every point in the bar. It has a long bar when you enter and looks like they'll take care of you for the night. At the far end of the venue is a little space. I'm not sure if they use that as their green room cuz it wasn't inviting you to come in. Overall, I think it's a decent venue. Not sure if the sound was an issue w the bands' equipment or The Paramount. I'd go back if a fave band of mine is playing.

Felt as though I were in México, not in Distrito Federal but in a less cosmopolitan city where in the old days Straights and Gays kind of mixed together although in some bigger venues there were areas where Gays had their own corner. Redz Bar is too small for separation, and it makes it hard to determine who is who. I was there on a busy Saturday around 9pm. All the tables were taken by party goers. I stole one of the few bar stools still left. Beer & wine bar: Ordered a Michelada that is bloody mary mix from a bottle, lemon juice, worchester sauce?, Modelo Mexican beer. The lip of the huge mug is lined with a salty, not very piquant chile powder like El Tajín. It's a refreshing, savory, Umami bomb just perfect on a hot day or night. My first Michelada ever. So I look around and it seems like a regular neighborhood Latino bar. If there are any Gays they were sprinkled around and not particularly & obviously visible. The friendly bartendress offered a free plate of antojitos / snacks which consisted of a small Tamal de Puerco con Salsa de Chile Colorado, and a bowl of Bírria soup in consommé w/ a small piece of goat. To me this Bírria tasted closer to a Pozole. Very hospitable gesture by Redz to give out such a tasty mini-meal. Redz caters to an East Los Angeles clientele. It's a liitle piece of México. Music is loud with Norteño & Son Afro-Mexican music from Veracruz tonight. I felt comfortable, and a nice Latina lady sitting next to me talked in her limited English and I in limited Spanish. Nice way to experience the East Los scene. 4 stars.
