I stopped by here with my cousin, a friend and the friend's friend for some dinner last Saturday. If you're hungry, which I was, then prepared to be even hungrier cause the moment you walk through the door, the smell of delicious Italian food slams you in the face. The place was packed so the wait was about 30 minutes, which definitely isn't bad. We ordered the fried calamari and the hot antipasto. The hot antipasto came out first. It had two baked mussels, clams, and a few things I can't really remember. I thought it was ok. Then we waited about 15-20 minutes before the calamari came. It was pretty underwhelming. We finished it pretty quickly, hoping that our entrees would come right after but it was still a wait. I had the veal marsala as my entree and I thought it was just ok. Sauce was runny but the flavor was ok. The portion size makes up for it and i feel like the price you pay is about right. I forget what everyone else was having because i was too hungry to pay attention to their orders. My cousin and I ordered from the them the next day to try out other things on the menu. The bufflo wings were good, zuchinni fries were alright, the chicken sorrentino was a little flavorless, but ok, and the chicken penne, according to my cousin, was really good. I want to give this place a 4 but i feel like the time between each meal was a little long and the flavor could've been better. I have passed this place a few times before while on the bus and driving. I decided to come here today since it is within walking distance of my house. Let me say one thing: Customer service feels a little lacking. As a business owner, I believe that it would be important to acknowledge the customer, especially if the workers are not overly busy.The workers were talking amongst themselves for a few minutes before they even asked me if I needed any help as I stood by the register. I have never experienced this awkwardness before in any pizza place, let alone a restaurant. Thus, I echo the sentiments of several yelpers with respect to the need to improve customer service. This place is in the middle of nowhere so it would behoove management to focus on the customer. I judge a pizza place by it's plain cheese pizza. Sauce is pretty good but the pizza is in line with any other random pizza joint that you could pop into in this area. and let me say, the pizza business is super competitive in this area. After over a year away from New York, I was really looking forward to a yummy New York Italian food experience. Unfortunately, I went to La Casa Bella. The food was one note bland. My pork chop while very tasty, was in a sauce that was supposed to have fig, and just didn't have any flavor. The stuffed fillet again massive, but needed a lot of salt. The croquettes were also not exceptional. The high notes were the salad and clams casino. The Arugula salad with cranberries was delicious. The greens fresh, and perfectly dressed. Service started off pretty badly, as we sat and watched two tables get menus and drinks before us, even though sat after us. But picked up nicely. Pretty good Italian restaurant. A few things to speak about. Number one, I always go to the bathroom to check the cleanliness of it or I really have to go. From a scale of 1-10, 10 being the cleanest where I can eat off the floor type. I rate this bathroom a 6, It smelt dirty but not dirty where someone took a poop but dirty like it hasn't been cleaned since yesterday. We ordered the special of burrata mozzarella with prosciutto. The mozzarella was absolutely delicious and reminded me of Italy. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and a salad. Salad was very disappointing comparing it to the pasta it replaced. The salad was romaine lettuce with 2 slices tomato and literally 2 olives. Also had the skirt steak, was cooked wonderfully and would order it again but without the au jus sauce. Pizza is always great from here. I've been coming here since I was a child and I keep coming back for 20+ years. If you're looking for authentic "New York/Brooklyn Pizza" this is the place to go. The vodka and margarita slices are always exceptional. Best pizza in Brooklyn in my opinion. The cashiers attitude is always something left to be desired. She always seems to be grumpy and never friendly. Service isn't always great though if you are dinning in. Waitresses are a little lost at times and not always attentive. Food here is always top tier. They have a variety of Pizza with different toppings or different styles. Choices a plenty. Their rolls and parms are as always delicious with great sauces. We stopped at this restaurant on our way to JFK and we were not disappointed. Our waitress Deborah was an honest to goodness angel. At one point during our meal we overheard her congratulating the culinary staff on what a wonderful job they were doing. And they deserved it! I had a sicilian slice and a spinach roll. Sicilian slice was pretty good but the spinach roll was below average. The dough was still raw in places and the spinach had zero taste. There was a lot of spinach in the roll and very little cheese, which I suppose contributed to its tastelessness. The roll was also tiny. Not recommended. The service was pretty bad. The guy behind the counter was dismissive and I had to go up twice to remind them to put my spinach roll into the oven. He had a rude attitude about him and wasn't attentive even though there was barely anyone in the restaurant when I walked in. Ample seating and relatively clean. Crappy 80's music, but to each his own with that. The lousy service and mediocre spinach roll is what gets this place two stars. read more

Prices are a little bit on the high side but you get what you pay for. All the dishes I've ever eaten here are fantastic. They make penny ala vodka pizza that is to die for. If go to eat there you can expect a little bit of a wait. But that's because the food is so good. read more

If you're in the bottom of Brooklyn and looking for authentic Italian food and plenty of it, this is a very good choice. I am unsure if this is bay ridge, but it's in the general neighborhood. There are just so many choices of parms, pizza by thenpie, pizza by the slice, baked pastas, red sauce pastas, sides, etc etc. I had the penne vodka with shrimp. Very plentiful and flavorful. The shrimp was over cooked but it was fine anyway. They move the quickly and the staff is nice and helpful if your have questions about one of their many many choices. I was in the mood for pasta in Brooklyn so I decided to try out this place and I'm sooo happy I did! I had the chicken parmigiana with penne, the house salad and the cheesy garlic bread. The food came fairly quickly and it was super hot when I opened it. They added a loaf of bread with my meal which was super warm and soft. This review represents 3.5 stars. Their signature vodka slice is indeed exceptional (though i wish it had MORE vodka sauce!) Their regular Neapolitan is on par with the average Brooklyn pizzeria so I wouldn't hesitate recommending someone here. We special ordered a pie and had toppings like mushrooms, roasted peppers and it was warm and crispy just the way I like it! In one sitting, my boyfriend and I ordered the grandma slice (alternating stripes of mozzarella and tomato sauce - I've had better), the rigatoni (YES! Prosciutto, chunky tomatoes in the sauce, fresh basil), the broccoli (YES! Sauteed in garlic and oil, crunchy - who likes soggy, limp broccoli?), and the chicken parmigiana (cheesy, delicious, a welcome addition to our overly caloric meal). These folks also serve up a hero of a warm, delicious starter bread that's refillable. I LOVE this bread! It makes for such a great sauce mopper. And sandwich maker. And overall snack muncher. It's a small casual place. No need to dress up! If your not on the mods for pasta you can always order pizza! Today was my first time ordering during the pandemic and my food arrived within 45 minutes which is not bad considering the delivery estimate said 1 1/2 hour. I ordered the Margherita pie, penne vodka with chicken, arugula salad and tiramisu. The pie had the most delicious sweet sauce. The penne vodka with chicken had a lot of sauce which I loved. The chicken was nice and tender. The arugula salad was a little too lemony but still really good. The tiramisu was delishhhh as well. The food here is exemplary. My wife and I came here one day after having passed it by on many occasions. We were not disappointed I the least. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Greed, Greed and more Greed. This is a wonderful restaurant with great food. I ordered food at 12 Noon on Saturday for a 5:30 Sunday pick up. I arrived at 5:20 PM and was told 15 minutes, at 6 PM I was told soon. AT 6:30 they apologized and said it would be a couple of minutes more. at 7:00 I was still waiting, 7:30 came and went. I finally threatened to cancel the order and finally received my 2 meals at 8:00. What a Mothers Day waste. Other restaurants in the area limited the amount of customer meals they can do over a specific hour. Casa Bella just kept taking orders instead of taking care of their customers, all the cared about was the amount of money they could make. Poor poor management. read more
