Food is reallllyyy good but under Covid circumstances, this would be a big no go for me. When I walked in- 9/10 employees had their masks either under their nose or off. They didn't try to even pretend or pull their mask back up when I came in to pick up the food. There was a temperature machine in the front but it wasn't being enforced so pretty much useless. I don't enjoy giving bad reviews, especially about places I patronize regularly, because I like their food, but I am tired of getting bad service and being ripped off by people running this place! First, they started charging a "convenience fee" for using credit cards and, although most credit cards charge only 2%, the management charges much more, disregarding the fact that this is and always was a part of their TAX DEDUCTIBLE operating expenses, notwithstanding the fact that their prices keep rising too. Second, I was shocked, when at my last visit - and I mean LAST VISIT - the waitress brought me a bill with 20% tip already included, without even as much as asking my permission! Any good restaurant is not just about good food - it is about good service!! My wife is the best chef I know and I can cook too, so when we go out, it is not only for a food - we want good service, otherwise we can eat at home, but when waiter/s never shows up when needed and then adds 20% "tip" to the total bill, this is not the place to return anymore. Every bite is literally perfect. And, the crush has sesame seeds, which really adds to the flavor of the overall bite. I've lived here my whole life. We have plenty of great Italian restaurants in south Brooklyn. I can say undoubtedly that there is no better than La Casa Bella. Some comparable, but no better. Their capellini pasta special is the best pasta dish I've EVER had. Their Caesar salad can only be rivaled by Brooklyn Roots in Bay Ridge, and it's a draw. Their chicken Francese amazing. Orrechette with sausage and Broccolirabe, also amazing. Even their pizza is spot on. This place is a true gem, slightly off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Disgusting service, mainly by the half owner (heavyset male with an earring) who's extremely rude to not only his customer but his staff. He degrades people, probably because he was heavy and got picked on his whole life. Now let's talk about the food, I ordered 3 slices and a chicken roll and this owner decided to ring me up and charges me for 4 slices and a chicken roll, I then asked him if he's sure that's the correct order, in which he replayed "weren't you listening?" And I said no I wasn't then he realized he did charge me for an extra slice but had no apologies. Furthermore, I was eating my square slice and as I was eating it, I noticed a hair at the bottom of the slice and thought it was mine until i attempted to take the hair out and realized it was baked into the dough. I placed an order for delivery and charged my credit card with the tip included for five dollars. The order was going to take too long to be delivered so I said I would pick it up. When I went to pick it up, I asked for my five dollars back because that was a tip for delivery. They said they couldn't give it back to me. They'd have to refund the whole thing and the girl behind the counter wasn't ready to do that. They also offered me a five dollar credit for my next order. I did not want a five dollar credit toward my next order. I don't order from there that often. What I don't understand is why couldn't you just pull out five dollars from the register and hand it to me because I became the pick up person and it's my money. I went through this with them one of the time with a credit card situation. They are not the easiest to deal with when it comes to refunding. All of this for five dollars, my $5.00. The service was quick but the server that took our drink order gave us a bit of an attitude because we were ready to put in our complete order-- but she told us "I only take drink orders. My friend and I decided to come here since I was craving classic Italian food - and wanted some real good pasta. Upon recommendation, we decided to come here. Once you walk in, you get the classic Italian vibes, it's super homey feeling. We grabbed a table, sat down and was given menus. They have a HUGE variety on the menu - literally everything you can imagine Italian related and probably more. I decided with the chicken marsala over pasta. It was so amazing!! My friend really enjoyed his meal also. Overall, very great classic Italian restaurant, great for a low key meal in the Bensonhurst area. I had originally given 4 stars but if I could give 0, I would. This place is an atrocity when it comes to service. They just absolutely don't care about giving you your food on time, delivery, making any effort whatsoever. The service is so bad that it outweighs how good their food is. I do not recommend losing your patience trying to dine here or even going for takeout. It's just not worth the aggravation. We waited over five hours once for delivery, only to find out that they didn't have our order and we had to go pick it up. This was after we called once every hour to see what was going on. I came to the area specifically to go here the other day, and I have to say that it was worth the trip. First off, I can't believe how nobody has mentioned how beautiful the place looks. The dartk tiled ceiling, the domed lgihts on the ceiling, the stained glass lanterns, columns...this is probably the most beautiful pizza place I've been to. Maybe it was redone recently. Regardless, like most pizzerias, there was counter with the pizzas and a basic gas oven behind it. They claim to serve brick oven pizza, so they either have another oven in the back, they have a customized gas oven (didn't get a great look at it), or they're bullshiting. I think its one of the first two, as their menu makes it sound like brick oven is a distinct style they do. Its possible they just use the gas oven for basic pies and reheats, but I digress. I got a margarita slice and a vodka slice (wanted to try their pie with home grown tomatos, but they don't do slices on that). The vodka slice was creamy goodness personified. There was too much mozzarella on the pie, but the mozzarella was homemade and great so I can't complain too much. The crust was very thin and crispy with sesamee seeds on the outer crust, and while it wasn't impressive it certainly wasn't bad. The margarita was even better. The tomatos they used were fantastic, and combined with the mozzarella and a little garlic/other spices, it was a great slice. The swirl pattern of cheese and sauce they used was interesting and I've never seen it before. Its also interesting to note that the crust was significantly different (especially underneath) and overall it was better. The pies might've been made by different people, but who knows. Regardless, the total product was nothing short of great, and was literally bursting with flavor. This place also gets great reviews online for its other food, but I was doing a couple of pizzerias so I had to save room. However, combined with the care the owners have for their restaurant and the great, unique pizza they make, I will definitely be back to try a full pie and see what else they got. read more

When I first moved to this neighborhood, this pizza place was and still is the only good pizzeria for about a mile. I appreciated their delicious vodka slices, their stuffed sandwiches, and the convenience of only having to walk two blocks to pick it up. The only thing that keeps me away is their customer service. They serve great food and always have a full house but the people who work for the establishment do not know how to work with the public. I understand the difficulty of working with people, believe me. But attitudes I've received when purchasing pizza from this place were shocking, and downright rude. I don't know who runs the place, but every time I go to Casa Bella, I leave wondering why I feel as bitter as I do. I really hate to write such a negative review but my experience today merits one. I called ahead and specified the time I needed my order ready. When I arrived it was not. When it finally came out, the guy first asked one of his workers if he had heated up the potato croquettes yet. (Really? You couldn't have done this in the time that I was already waiting???) I get everything home. The pizza (vodka pie which was always our favorite) did not taste as good as it used to. I had also ordered a veal parm and linguine with garlic and oil. They piled these 2 very heavy dishes on top of each other without anything to separate them, so the pasta had fallen into the veal parm and the oil was everywhere. As my husband and I tried to get them out of the bag, (because the tin had already collapsed, ) the entire thing fell all over our carpet, and my brand new shirt, that I was wearing for the first time. We scrambled to get everything cleaned before too much damage was done. (My shirt is completely ruined and there are stains on the carpet.) In the end, I couldn't even find the veal under mounds of cheese (it was disgusting) and the pasta had no oil on it because it was all over the bags and my carpet.) La casa bella feels like your Italian neighbor's dining room. Came on a friday evening around 830 and had to wait about 30 mins for a table. Its a small place but you can see everyone enjoying themselves, couples, friends and families. There's only 3 waitress so service was slow but very hard working. Even though our waitress was busy she gave us great service. Once we got seated, she notice our table was a bit wobbly and got somethingto stick it under to keep the table steady! Lobster Ravioli: My sister liked this dish the most, but I found it sub-par. If this is what is considered the better, I don't want to see what's bad. I've been coming to this place for 2 decades when it looked like any run of the mill pizzeria shop to the renovated look it is sporting now. The quality of food here is always on point and amazing. Don't look at this place as if it just a normal pizzeria place, it has great pasta, meat, and seafood dishes. The skirt steak and lasagna has always been my number one item to order from here. Their meat sauce pasta is absolutely amazing as well as their white clam linguine just to name a few of the items my family and I order whenever we come here or order out. The pizza pies here are also awesome, my nephews love the bruschetta pie they make here. Even after moving away from the neighborhood, we still come by at least once a month to eat here. Im never a really big fan of italian food. All it is just pasta with sauce and they charge an exorbitant amount for it when you can make it at home. But at Bella Casa it was worth it. We came on a friday night for two people and ordered a eggplant parm and a penne chicken vodka. The eggplant parm was one of the best I had. It was very flavorful and well fried and the sauce on top was so tasty it was like my friends grandma make it. The penne vodka also was on point in terms of flavor and sauciness and the meat. Though it can get a bit heavy as with all cream base sauces. Overall it was great and the waitresses were very attentive and quick to bring us stuff. The last time I came here I was 14. Tonight I decided to come here with my boyfriend for our One Month anniversary, to give us a chance to venture outside of Chinese Food. The restaurant was spacious, comfortable, and pretty clean. Our waitress was very kind and explained the specials of the day and made us felt welcomed. We started off with a Stuffed Eggplant, and it was very delicious & well presented and all the flavors worked well together. Overall, the dish was not bad at all Chicken Marsala with Spaghetti & Red Sauce - Chicken was overcooked again, but I love how the mushrooms were bathing in a sauce with the Chicken. The pasta was perfect and it wasn't nor a mess nor too salty, it was just right. Overall a great restaurant experience, more so better than where my friends & I tired a month ago at Vincent's. I see those distinctive herbs dancing around in glee, and your homemade fresh mozzarella sits at the acme tier. The crust, however, has the element of least dynamicism - hey, someone's gotta be the loser. The regular slice is exemplary. It has everything you could want on a slice. Sweet sauce, slightly gooey cheese that releases easily from the crust, plus a nice splash of cooked cheese along the coastline. The specialty pies are most notable though. Slices like the square buffalo has toppings reaching nearly 2 inches in height . The white and a la vodka pies have a sheet of fresh mozzarella across the top. Everything extra looks remarkable here. No stars isn't enough after my experience tonight. My husband and I have eaten here quite a few times and were pleasantly surprised. The waitresses are all so friendly and attentive. This has nothing to do with the wonderful waitresses. We decided to take our kids my mom & in total there was 8 of us. I ordered chicken scampi sounded great but I get it and my knife could barely go through the chicken it was like hard rubber this was just my dish everyone else's was good I called the waitress over and told her and she took my plate away and some man came from the back and told me to check the middle of it As I explain to him I couldn't even get to the middle of the chicken and I wouldn't want to at that point he gave me a dirty look and looked at what everybody else ordered at the table and said oh chicken and chicken and walked away and was beyond rude to me in front of my family it was a very uncomfortable situation why would anyone want to try to get to the middle of a bad piece of food? The cook has taken some creative license with the recipes (Not in a good way) My Rigatoni with meat sauce (Bolognese) must have had a lot of sugar added to the sauce. So sweet that I couldn't taste any of the ingredients. When I told the server, she said that the cook has heard this before and wouldn't do anything about it. So we spoke to the owner who actually told us that we have had our food forever and why are we just saying something. She said they have been making it that way for 28 years and walked away!
