Honestly, this approached 5 star territory as soon as they added wi-fi to this location. I'd love to stay and work here! Seating is great, wi-fi is now solid, but outlets are still sparse or not working. The staff here are super friendly and helpful-- they were giving out samples of one of their new latte flavors that "didn't exist until we made it". Fun workers here! Our coffees came out great, and we sipped and enjoyed it in the seats while doing a bit of work. There's a lot of natural lighting as well here to keep one awake while meeting up, as well as some standing tables and tall tables available. read more

Only went here for a meetup & did not get anything to eat or drink (brought my own). It's a cute place to meet & chit chat @. We sat at the hightop community table to color and it was a good size. Any larger parties, not sure if they could accommodate b/c the tables are bolted down & you can't put them together. The drinks looked good & smelled great but their food menu looked limited. There were customers who constantly walked away with a delicious drink but not many walked away with something to eat. There was seating outside that was decent. WIll be good for warmer weather. I'm really impressed by the flavor of both item, especially the almond croissant--definitely one of the best I've ever had. Oat draft latte was good and tasted similar to nitro latte. It was nice to see such cold drink options (without any ice to "water down" the coffee). We were walking the streets of Philly and needed an ice coffee to enjoy to cool down. We stopped by this location to grab some AC and coffee. I ordered the chai and my fiance ordered cold brew. It wasn't super busy so we didn't have to wait long for our drinks. The chai wasn't very good. I actually ended up throwing it away after we left. My fiance said his cold brew was fine but nothing special. I've been to several locations of La Colombe previously and I'm just never wowed. Probably wouldn't go back even when we are back in the area. read more

This is one glamorous location of the famed, Philadelphia-originating La Colombe Coffee. It is located in the Independence Mall near the Liberty Bell and possesses ultra tall windows, an expansive floor plan, a twinkling chandelier overhead, and several rigid wooden tables. I do not recall seeing any outlets at these seats, so it seems the shop does not really cater to the studious and laborious worker with laptop in tow. I had a simple drip coffee and was offered a spoon and plate for adding and mixing milk from their self-serve station. How fancy. The coffee was decent, maybe thin and a little weak, however. It was a pleasant shop as the windows allowed for plenty of natural lighting to filter in. How lovely to have a dependable go-to local chain in place of an over-commercialized Starbucks. read more

I don't have a picture because I inhaled it, but the vanilla bean donut here is such a treat. The taste is so much more muted and nuanced than "regular" vanilla-flavored products. And you can see specks of vanilla bean, which is fun! I also enjoyed all the other pastries (photos attached!) I recently tried. I thought the raisin "swirl" (not sure what the name was) was especially good -- and that's coming from someone who doesn't like raisins! Our first stop after dropping off our bags at the hotel when we desperately needed caffeine following a red eye in from SoCal. I really wanted to try the draft latte, and just our luck, the day we came the barista informed us that it was actually BOGO day for draft coffees! So my partner and I got draft lattes and shared a ham and cheese our friend opted for espresso and a scone. The draft latte was smooth and airy, and I had multiple of these during my trip - though none were as good as this location (to be fair the others were the airport La Colombe and the hotel coffee shop that had the La Colombe draft latte on tap- they both served it with ice whereas this location served it straight up- which I'm guessing is the way it is intended to be served). I do wish there was slightly less foam, but hey it was still great and like no other coffee I've ever ordered! The ham and cheese croissant was good, another day we came in we ordered an almond croissant which was a bit too crispy and the almond filling too grainy- I would recommend the ham and cheese over the almond. There's a lot of seating, both inside and out, and they also have bathrooms which is a plus! read more

Renowned coffee roasting company with multiple locations in Philly. After walking around town, I needed a pick me up so I decided to stop in here. I tried the Pumpkin Spice Draft Latte - the seasonal specialty. The on-tap Draft Latte is basically cold-pressed coffee and frothed milk that comes straight out of a keg into your cup. It was my first time trying and I am a total fan - just not a fan of the price ($6+). read more

I absolutely love their coffee and the contributions the company makes to community and charity. However, this particular location lacks the coffee shop atmosphere as it's sort of like a kiosk in the middle of an office building lobby. They do have a nice courtyard out front and you can see the Liberty Bell area but they lack the free sparkling or still water station and coffee shop atmosphere that you get at the other locations. Their prices are also super reasonable compared to most other coffee shops. You can get a cortado for $3 and a cappuccino for $3.25 topped with some impressive latte art. However, there is a 75 cent up charge for oat milk. I know all the coffee shops charge more for non-dairy milks but I don't agree with it. Anyway, you can't go wrong with any drinks here. This time we tried a blueberry tart which was fantastic and I look forward to trying some of their other pastries when I return to a La Colombe likely at a different location. read more

I'm kind of blown away by how much La Colombe has grown since moving away from Philly 8 years ago. However, the quality is exactly as I remembered it. This location, in the lower level of a busy office building,​ is an incredible mix of a sleek modern​ inside, and a beautiful outdoor space overlooking Independence National Park. The display case was filled with delicious​ looking pastry, I opted for the Almond Croissant along with a large Cappuccino. Both came up right away. I took a seat outside in a big Adirondack​ style chair, overlooking Independence Hall. The croissant was crisp, light and flaky topped with powdered​ sugar and sliced almonds with an almond paste center. The cappuccino was hot and creamy, perfectly made. Great coffee, friendly efficient​ staff, ​and a decent price. That paired with the view and they have a winner. read more

Came here because of the spacious study area and I like draft latte I tried at another location. Upon arriving, the tone of the worker at the register seemed condescending. I ordered a draft latte and the attached picture shows how much was actually in the cup after the head of the draft went away. There didn't even give me half of a cup of coffee! Furthermore, I went to grab a seat and was rudely told that they need to check my vaccination card. I totally understand, but the tone used was unnecessary. To top it all off, they do not have WiFi. Wouldn't have bought this quarter-cup of coffee if I knew beforehand. Just look at the picture it's ridiculous. read more
