Welcome to my happy place! Beautiful on the water seating both inside and out. Many different starters to choose from, but I have to recommend the Brie with the garlic and apples drizzled with balsamic. Yum!!! There may be many other dinner items to choose from, but you can't leave here without trying the macadamia nut crusted halibut. Girl!!! I have to say first that they make the most awesome french fries I've ever had. You actually want to eat them without any ketchup. The food here was solid. We came for the tulips in Mt Vernon and there weren't too many options to see so we ventured to La Conner. we sat outside, waterfront. View was awesome. The food was just ok, the macadamia nut halibut tasted more like Panko breading alone, but it was still good. read more

If you just want a place to sit on the water and drink tea, this is a great choice for that. We went here on Mothers' Day 2026, expecting an elevated dining experince. We sat outside on the water and the service was perfect. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. My mom got crab louie salad and the greens were wilted, and the salad was crazy expensive. My brother and I both got burgers and fries, and requested them cooked medium. The burgers came out well done and not juicy at all. They were both perfectly puck shaped, so our theory is that they were frozen patties. The French fries also seemed to be from frozen, based on the shape and consistency. If we had gone to a roadside inexpensive burger spot, this would be understandable. But this is a high end restaurant. read more

In the afternoon on Easter Sunday the Hostess was rude and not comforting. When we suggested to sit somewhere else she rolled her eyes and asked us to grab the menus and our silverware, knowing we were carrying shopping bags and a child in our arms. She wasn't holding anything as she walked us to another table. She probably figured that was our punishment for even asking ( that's how it felt ). A hostess has never asked us to do such a thing. She definitely needs some customer service etiquette training. Our waited staff was great though. I appreciated how he treated us. We have eaten here multiple times when visiting the Tulip Festival. If the weather is nice. the oudoor patio is a great place to dine. Service and food was excellent.The menue changes but always a good offerings. On our most recent visit the hostess offered us patio seating in the sahde. We asked if it was possible to sit in the sun. After checking she was able to accommodate us. Our server was prompts and attentive and our order came out quickly. Came here with my wife for a reservation at 5pm. However we were hungry so we went in early at 4:30 to see if they could seat us. The restaurant was very empty with plenty of space. The hostess, who was extremely cold, told us she could but it would take 5 mins. 15 mins later, where she just stood at the desk looking at her phone and no one else coming in, she finally sat us. Again, no greeting... no 'thanks for coming in'... literally nothing to make us feel welcomed. We then sat there for 15 minutes without contact from anyone else. After about 5-10 more minutes, a waitress walked by us and said "I'll be right with you". After 20 more minutes we got up and left. Didn't even eat. Wonderful place. We liked the food very much, and we especially liked our server--the terrific and helpful, Mikayla. The rest of the staff we were helped by were also wonderful. We had the macadamia nut encrusted halibut and the half-Caesar salad and cioppino, all of which were very nice. We especially liked the cioppino which was very full of all kinds of seafood and not heavy on the broth. Mikayela also highly recommended the scallops. I love a luscious scallop! After a spell, another server came by with two serving plates of two very large scallops on each plate. He deposited one on plate on our table and then took the other elsewhere while I was nearly fainting! The price we were paying and only two scallops!? So be forewarned. My solution was to take small bites and concentrate--it was actually a good plan. I did end up enjoying my scallop immensely despite my initial shock of anything immense about the serving. I'd originally planned on taking my wife here for dinner after visiting the tulip fields. Reservations for a table are suspended during the month of April, when the tourist flood reaches peak capacity, so I figured I'd walk in a couple hours ahead, get on the list, and return when it was time. Strangely enough, the place I'd opted to go for lunch had a 35 minute wait, but we were seated here at La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib House in less than 2 minutes. Fine with me! We even scored a fantastic, sunny patio table next to the water! From start to finish, our server was incredible. I get the feeling she was the owner or manager, as she casually mentioned, when inquired, that all the drinks on the cocktail menu were of her devising. Regardless, she was pleasant, professional, personable and punctual, and always attentive. I really should have noted her name. Between the two of us, my wife ordered the Dungeness crab cocktail (market price*), Seared sea scallops (market price*), the fish tacos for myself, a Mint Tulip (clever), and a Rosemary Old Fashioned. The crab cocktail was an unbelievable heap of crustacean and cocktail sauce, and it had better have been, as market price* for this appetizer ended up being around $46! I guess we should have asked what "market price" was for the day, in advance! Good thing it was delicious as hell! Similarly, the two thick-cut, savory, almost steak-like sea scallops came to around $23, a price which, again, is only justified by how incredible they were! Now the fish tacos, I have no complaint whatsoever: grilled, seasoned cod, pickled onions, slaw, and the addition of avocado (recommended by our server) made for a wonderful, filling lunch, that lasted me for the rest of the day! Good thing these weren't "market price" as well! As for the cocktails, my wife's Mint Tulip was tart, crisp and floral, while my Rosemary Old Fashioned nailed all the basics, with some herbal accentuation thrown in, which gave it a nice, earthy aroma and aftertaste, in keeping with the season. Overall, La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib House did everything right, from service to seating, ambiance, location, quality of food, barring our own mistake of not checking the prices of things ahead of time. The bill was a bit of a shock, and the onus is partially on us, although I'm sure they could be a bit more forthcoming with costs that are variable. Beyond that, I would absolutely dine here again on our next visit to La Conner. read more

I didn't previously give out an award for the toughest prime rib of the year but this experience inspires me to do so. It didn't help that the Martini was watered down either. Some other reviews speak more favorably about the standing rib roast and maybe this was a complete off day, although the existence of which is disconcerting. All of the wait staff were so friendly and were exactly what I would expect from a small town. Very personable, not overbearing, and made sure we were checked in on and brought plenty of water on a hot summer day. We came here for my birthday dinner with a group of 8. We had a reservation and were seated as planned. The table was underwhelming, seats were the same that my church uses as "spares". Older restaurant, ok. Our waitress was disorganized, untrained, and absent. We are accommodating people, but come on. In these settings, we expect good, if not great service, especially for the 20% "service charge" that was tacked on to our bill. For what? My waitress's smoke break? There were obvious signs of poor training. We would be in the middle of a story together awaiting a punch line, and.. be interrupted.. by our waitress. I found myself trying to manage her needs more than she managed ours. Yes we need water. Make yourself useful, girlfriend. Anticipate our needs. The customer service basics were lacking. We ordered nearly every signature (high dollar) entree on the menu: the 12oz Ribeye, Prime Rib, La Conner Pasta, the Alaskan Halibut, and grandparents opted for the Fish & Chips. It was a little embarrassing that my pasta (The LaConner) was the only dish that was edible - it was actually very good. My man is a foodie (even if he hates it, he will eat it kind-of-guy).. his Ribeye was still blue. Rare beyond rare, lazily re-warmed in the oven appearance. He sent it back with a DIFFERENT server to be cooked as ordered: Medium/Medium Rare.. it came back 50 minutes later as we were cleaning up. The macadamia-crusted halibut was deep-fried. Sad. It was so over-cooked that the crust fell off immediately in cracker form. I stared at people's plates praying their food was edible. Heaven knows our waitress or her manager aren't coming to do a quality check on us. My MIL ordered the Prime Rib. This woman doesn't complain, she isn't picky. She told me a few days later that she quietly spoke with someone there & reported that her prime rib was awful. She didn't send it back, didn't request a different dish or a comp. They did nothing. My hubs was bothered enough by this to call the restaurant & complain. They told him they would credit back a portion of the meal for such a poor experience. Can you guess.. Didn't happen.
