Stayed out in Joshua Tree for the weekend and found this wonderful place. I was afraid of how long the wait would be due to the popularity of this restaurant. I added my name to the list for two people and our wait was about 30 mins. You have to manually write down your name on the check in list. There's a shaded sitting area where you can enjoy drinks as you wait to be called. Next to the sitting area, you will find a small trailer, which is a gift shop. In my opinion the items sold here are overpriced. We ordered the Shrimp Roll, Pacific Rockfish Cake, Le Burger and espresso panna cotta. All the hype you read on here, it's true! The food is amazing! Something you have to experience on your own. You definitely won't be disappointed. This place is busy! The kitchen is constantly working and we received our order, almost immediately. There's outdoor and indoor seating available. The restrooms are pretty and unique. There's plenty of parking. I suggest you get there early. read more

I was so happy to finally try La Copine. We have a place in Twentynine Palms and made a stop in for Sunday brunch/lunch. The food is creative and delicious, however all three dishes were over-salted quite a bit and we love salt! I loved the drink options and picked a delightful cocktail and my hubs had a tasty fruit punch spritzer. The staff were friendly and efficient and we felt welcomed! They offered a water dish for our pup too. We sat on the patio and it was a warm mid-morning but we were shaded and happy. The bathroom wallpaper was beautiful! Ha! I finally got to check this place out over the weekend. I love that the staff is mainly women and everyone has their own sense of style and personality. We ordered the fried chicken, the cheesesteak, the shrimp and grits, papaya salad, the crispy potatoes, and a salad. Everyone loved their food. No matter what you order on the menu, you won't be disappointed -- the food is fresh, unfussy, creative -- capturing the deliciously eclectic nature of California cuisine. I especially loved the crispy potatoes and garlic bread, which were both simple yet delicious. Judging the food alone, it is probably worthy of 5 stars, however the current waitlist system is painfully ineffective given the immense popularity of this place. I arrived 20 minutes before the restaurant even opened to put my name on the list on a Sunday, and still ended up waiting 1.5 hours to be seated. My first visit was beyond memorable. The server was definitely a foodie and I was interested in every dish after her descriptions but I decided to order the Pacific Rockfish Cake. Here's what happened next...I'd close my eyes as I took each bite because I wanted to savor it forever. It was PHENOMENAL! Crispy on the outside and delicate and ultra flavorful inside. It came with sweet plantain, coconut milk, jalapeño, tamarind, aji amarillo, micros cilantro, and avocado-tomatillo salad. Pretty much multiple foodie orgasms in my mouth one after another. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the patio. And don't miss the cool shop in the trailer behind this place. Two words - boobie mugs. Pro tip: closed July-Aug so check their calendar ahead of time. We had grilled bread to start and it was soooo delicious with the olive oil and sea salt, and perfectly crisp. I had the Breakfast sammy and my boyfriend had the ribs. Both were great, especially the jam inside the sammy. Wow!! We finished off our meal with the panna cotta - that black pepper honey is just amazing! Overall, a pleasant meal.
