Went there for the first time. I was excited I was trying a new restaurant. I had the patatas bravas and the paella. The patatas bravas seemed like they came from a frozen bag and warmed but they were cold when served. There was very little sauce on top. I asked for a little more. The paella wasn't even close to being cooked that day. Usually paella takes time to cook but it was served to us in less than 15 minutes so makes me think it was just warmed up to serve. It seems like it was rice that was cooked and they topped it off with the other ingredients. The flavor wasn't very good either. I would not recommend this place and will not go back. read more

Enjoyed dinner with my parents and their friends. We ordered a few different dishes. Paella, empanadas, tortilla soup, calamari, pizza, and the fish special of the day (sea bass). All came out in a timely fashion as the place was not so busy. The pizza bianco was the main dish I ordered as I was craving a wood fire pie! It was delicious and was only able to eat half since I had a little bit of everything else. All the food was good and nothing disappointed. We used to love La Cosecha. We visit Paso two or three times a year and always stop in here for their incredible wood-fired pizza, delicious salads, and other variety of tapas. I cannot express my disappointment with the new menu and changes. No woodfired pizza. No variety of tapas that weren't heavily sausage focused. We ordered the branzino for two and the portion was tiny. The fish was good but we literally got 1 1/2 broccoli stems and 3 pieces of squash. Overall, a totally different feel and not for the positive. We won't be back, which after coming here for 8 years is a bummer. The service was great but overall...a total disappointment. read more

We ate here twice for lunch. Both times we were able to walk in around 1:00pm. The first time, we shared a beet and goat cheese salad and fried calamari with curry dipping sauce and marinara sauce. Took a short weekend trip with an old friend to catch up get away from all the Covid stress. We got a recs from our Airbnb host, checked out all the menus and decided that La Cosecha sounded the most delicious so I made a reservation for a Friday night a week and a half out. We arrived during a 2020 Covid California cold spell so we came bundled up because we knew we had to bear al fresco dining. We praised our lucky stars that there were heaters but there was still a slight wind and chill. Once settled we decided on appetizers, dinner and dessert, it went something like this: Pan seared scallops/mashed potato. mixed mushroom sauce - scallops were supple, perfectly cooked. The mash was salted enough to enhance the flavors, the mushroom sauce brought enough umami to to dish. Pastelitos catracho/honduras style empanadas. beef. potato. native honduran spice - this was a decent empanada, but nothing WOW or singularly outstanding. Seafood Moquecas - a Brazilian seafood stew cooked in a clay pot. The hot broth/gravy was fantastically light and tasty for a cold evening. There was plenty of seafood to share and enjoy. Braised short ribs - good braise, perfectly tender and pull apart-able by fork. Tres leches cake Creme Brûlée Parking is a pain, this is in the busy part of town. You'll have to circle a couple of times and likely walk a block and through the park. But it's a pleasant area to walk around and helps with digestion after you've stuffed your face silly. read more

This restaurant is really classy, chic and happening. It was busy around the time we went for dinner in the evening. The menu is so unique and delicious, every item is well thought out and artistic. For three people we ordered, the croquettes, empanadas, pizza Bianca and the grilled octopus and all were incredibly delicious. After a long day of wine tasting, this place was a great way to end the day (and save me from a hangover). I am only passing through Paso Robles but I would love to come here again and explore more of this fabulous menu. I have to admit the path to the bathroom is quite ominous and eerie, I literally joked to the staff in that hallway, "am I going to get killed here?" LOL! Absolutely LOVED this place! Very cool vibes, and great energy! We visited in July and felt comfortable with their level of Covid measures. The service here was excellent. Everyone worked together and they took care of every request we had. The manager was very present and involved in our dining experience. The food was fabulous! Everything was flavorful and satisfying. We sat at the bar and loved watching the mixologists. They were very impressive and made amazing cocktails! I think Covid purple status ruined a lot of our experience. They had an outdoor tent but heaters weren't inside there and it was freezing in there. They only had stark tables with no decorating touches to make it feel like more than eating in the street. I know it just happened but it wasn't welcoming. The food could have been very good but everything was way over salted. Well the ceviche wasn't over salted and it was great but the chips they served with it were mediocre. The octopus was cooked perfectly and if you didn't dip in the salty potato purée, it was excellent. Creme brûlée was standard but well executed. Service was lacking. Servers seemed few and far between and we had to ask twice for our cocktails. It's uncomfortable to be in a cold dark tent and stay there longer than you want because no attention. So maybe this place was great before this month but for now it's just ok and they have to iron some things out if this outdoor dining continues. read more

La Cosecha was a once a month date night for my husband and I for a few years now. We took a little break for about 2-3 months from coming here. But to our surprise tonight when we came back for dinner & drinks. We noticed immediately how many things were different. For one many open tables on a Saturday night. Which normally it's super packed on a Saturday night. Then we ordered the usual grilled Octopus and it was burnt! I let my server know, he then told his manager then came back to say it's supposed to be cooked that way. Ordered the ribeye for our main plate, ordered medium rare and it was way over cooked again. I think they must be under new management . We know the owners wouldn't allow plates to be served that way. Didn't see them tonight which made me think it's under new management. read more

We were sat at this two top that was right next to the walk way, maybe 4 inches away from another small cramped table. The menu was vibrant and had lots of options to choose from, unfortunately it didn't meet its descriptive expectations. Our waitress came by and politely said hi and asked if we were here for just drinks or food. Seemed annoyed when we said both... Our apps took about 20 minutes to come out after ordering. The Ceviche and charcuterie board were dry and not rich in flavor. Small portion sizes for the price they had and not at all shareable. Our waitress came by again and we put our order in for entrees. That took 25 minutes to come out. Our entrees, salmon and paella, arrived but as they were setting down the paella on this small table with other dishes and cups on it, it knocked over the water onto my partner's salmon dish and onto himself. The dish had to be remade. We shared the paella while waited for the 10 minutes for the salmon that still hasn't come out. So we decided to take the salmon off the check and pay the bill. The manager came by the table and gave us a apology while the waitress was no where to be found. We left with an empty wallet and empty stomach . Poor service along with poor quality of food. Some of the food we ordered was alright, but overall its not worth coming back. The pizza sucked. My boyfriend hated the cheese on it (goat cheese). For me, it was more the meatballs made from lamb that tasted sour. The fried calamari was good, nothing extraordinary though. I could get this anywhere else. The shrimp and polenta with spanish sausage dish was my favorite. I thought the food was good but not outstanding. The seafood paella was probably the best dish we ordered. Tons of seafood, and the rice had rich flavor. The restaurant is very popular so you definitely need a reservation. A couple of groups tried to walk-in and were turned away. The tables were all kind of close together and the tables themselves were very small. It was difficult to order tapas/small plate style to share things simply because the tables were not big enough. The paella took up the entire table as well. The food is overall 4/5 but quite expensive for what it actually is. Our party of six visited La Cosecha on March 27th. We made reservations six weeks prior (while Paso Robles remained in the red tier for California). This was a special occasion dinner. We arrived five minutes before our reservation. The restaurant was at capacity. The outside tent was also filled. We weren't seated for another fifteen minutes. No tables inside or out were separated by six feet. My seat backed up to the table behind us with less than six inches to spare. Our server didn't take our drink orders for another ten minutes. Afterward, it took another twenty minutes to receive our refreshments. The cocktails were terrible. The ice had melted and added a funny taste to the concoction. The caipirinhas--their signature cocktail--were sub-standard. I ordered Grand Marnier to add to the cocktail in hopes of fixing the odd flavor, but that awful melted ice funky taste remained. We placed our appetizer and entree orders when she brought the Grand Mariner. This was about thirty minutes into our initial seating and forty-five minutes from our reservation start time. Thirty-five minutes later (at the hour and change mark) we finally received the appetizers. However, not everyone in our party ordered them. Another half-hour passes. We've now been at the restaurant, in the curbside tent, for more than an hour and a half. One member of our party (the birthday girl), went to the restroom, and on her way back stopped at the host podium and asked David, the manager, when we might expect to receive our food? She seated herself at the table again and David joined us a few minutes later to explain. David brought with him the order tags to prove the time our orders had been placed with the kitchen--essentially blaming us for the tardiness of the meal. I explained that we ordered timely and have been waiting for our food and that two hours later is an unacceptable amount of time to wait. I told him that he'd overbooked his restaurant during a pandemic and that no seating indoor or outdoor was the requisite 6 feet apart. At that time he said, "Thank you for yelling at me." I promise you, dear reader, I'd never raised my voice. I was honestly upset at the lack of respect for diners. After his pithy little statement, I got louder. I said, "You have made an impossible situation for your waitstaff and diners alike. You've overbooked when you don't have enough people to serve." He left. Our food arrived ten minutes later. He sent a round of cocktails. And removed the cocktails from our bill. We paid for the food and tipped our waitress based on what the bill would have been because clearly, it was not her fault. This restaurant has a Michelin rating and an absolute buffoon as their manager. His ego and disrespect escalated an already tenuous situation. There are many restaurants in Paso Robles. Many places to dine where the establishment values customers. Please choose wisely. This restaurant doesn't care about your safety or your dining experience. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned "mansplaining and misogyny" as words to describe the manager. Truer words! We spent $400 on a meal that was not worth a tenth of what was served in light of the experience and lack of consideration for customers. read more

Great food, beautiful setting with seats outside overlooking the park. This is a great place for people watching if you want to sit outside, or watch a game sitting at the bar. The service was good, the food was amazing. Ceviche starter was wonderful with just enough lime juice, and the chips were fresh and seemed to be made at the restaurant. Mixed feelings on this. We started with a couple of small plates to share--Nicaraguan empanadas and a beet and goat cheese salad. Both were tasty but nothing spectacular. I had the steak for dinner which was good, but the veggies and potatoes were flavorless. My wife's short rib was also good, but her mash and veg were flavorless. We were perplexed how the proteins were so flavorful and well cooked and the veg were the absolute opposite. No salt was used in the cook on the veg at all.
