Lobster with filet mignon.
Yvonne M.

Once again, Catch Seafood Bar and Grill was AMAZING! We sat at the bar for an incredible experience with Chef Chico. We were treated to watching the chef's artfully prepare our anniversary dinner! We started with a delicious calamari steak appetizer followed by surf and turf...giant lobster tails with ribeye for hubby and filet mignon with Bernaise for me. Theresa served us with heartfelt hospitality that made us feel like we were dining in their home. We are already looking forward to our next visit. The restaurant is casual and non pretentious where it's clear the locals enjoy popping in for a bite. If you're looking for a delicious lobster dinner, look no further!

Our server was very sweet and gave great recommendations. Our food and wine was amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for. We will be back when we are in town again. Looking forward to trying something different. Thank you.

Scollops and Scampi on left, shrimp fettuccine Alfredo on the right. Both excellent!

Late change in plans meant trying to find a dinner spot on Valentine's on Saturday night! Was trying all around north county and Catch called me back saying they had a cancellation and if I wanted it- "yes". Love the Catch and last night did not disappoint- we had a bottle of Glunz Chardonnay with Crab Cake appetizer to start- the. The shrimp scampi and shrimp Alfredo. Both were delicious and had lots of to satisfy our hunger. The staff are very attentive, refilling water and their breads. It's was early but packed for the occasion. We talked with some other tables and the lamb and filet mignon were outstanding as well. Lots of chill vibe and people there. Will be back for sure!

Excellent ambiance, service and most of all food. Our annual trip to Catch didn't disappoint. We asked Chico for something good and that he did! Oysters and calamari steak to start. Then blackened salmon, halibut filet and shrimp with scallop scampi. It was divine and an excellent dinner to end our time in beautiful Paso. Until next year, beautiful city.

Crab cakes - wow doesn't look like much but they were delicious

WOW the clams are out of this world. After eating those clams and being shocked, appalled, in awe at how amazing they were, I started to look at every subsequent dish in a hopeful and forgiving lens. However, after the entire meal and looking back, I don't think the other dishes were that great. From BEST to LEAST recommendation: 1) red sauce steamed clams - MY GOSH. Deliciously savory but light and highlighter the flavor of the clam. I could drink this sauce but luckily they have delicious fluffy baguette bread that I could eat endlessly on that. 2) clear broth steamed clams - MY GOSH amazing. Same ordeal just different sauce. The herb garlic sauce was to die for with the flame, 3) The crab cakes looked a little sad but were SO fresh. Would recommend people to try at least once. Depending on my mood I may or may not get again. 3) the clam chowder was amazing but it was unconventional. Instead of the traditional creamy clam chowder, it was a savory herb more clear in broth chowder. I enjoyed it but I also would enjoy the traditional creamy chowder better. This was nice still because you could eat a lot of it and not feel heavy. 4) king crab legs were yummy and fresh. Still a little straight forward but they nailed it well: 5) shrimp and scallop fettuccine - it was ok. The scallops and shrimp weren't cooking anything exceptional and the fettuccine was doused in a light and simple garlic butter sauce 6) molten lava cake was straightforward and done well but not done exceptionally well or anything different 8) Oyster - they didn't clean them well (had a bad poopoo aftertaste) and they were a bit old/stale non fresh. Good texture but had that astringent medium old oyster aftertaste I would come back but maybe just for the appetizer and dessert

I would give this place 5 stars if it weren't for their reservation process. We called to inquire about a reservation, and they said they had nothing available at 5 or 4:30 but could squeeze us in at 4--right when they opened. We arrived and sat at the bar, where there was only one other couple. By the time we left at 5, there were two other couples and plenty of space. Not sure why they couldn't seat us at 5. The service was okay, but since they had just opened and were still getting organized, they weren't very attentive. Regarding the food... Wow! We were beyond satisfied with our meal. We ordered the Pan-Fried Calamari, a bowl of Clam Chowder, and a dinner salad. We had never had a calamari steak prepared this way before--it was delicious and left us wanting more! The clam chowder was amazing, packed with plenty of clams, potatoes, and celery. Yes, celery--it added a nice flavor to the soup. The soup was thicker than usual clam chowder, but that didn't take away from its quality. The dinner salad was great, with homemade blue cheese that enhanced the flavor. They also provide fresh bread and butter while you! We will be back

Service is a bit slow- over 20 minutes for the food to come. We ordered Cioppino and Seafood pasta. Both were decent portions. The Cioppino came in a 2 quart pot and tasty but unusual with green beans, carrots, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and there a decent amount of seafood. Pasta was tasty with good amount of seafood. Noise level average. Staff friendly.

Oh wow!!!! My wife is an incredible chef and rarely impressed when we go out. The bartenders at Clock and Dagger's wine tasting shop (2 different ladies, on two different days) both HIGHLY recommended Catch and both said we should sit at their bar. My wife doesn't usually like to watch cooking at a restaurant due to all of the negatives she can spot, but we did so. Chico the owner and head chef is the man! He greeted us promptly, is so friendly, the kitchen is spotless and then my wife looked at the menu. I've rarely seen her so excited! "Oh, that looks good! Oh, no, that does! Yum, I want that!" On and on. Then I pointed out the huge specials board and it started again!!! We settled on appetizers of clams Italinao and sauteed mushrooms. Both so good! I really don't like mushrooms, but I couldn't stop eating them! Regulars Scott and Cindy arrived a bit after us and they swapped some of our mushrooms for some of their calamari steak appetizer (OH WOW - THAT was so good too!). My wife went with salmon for an entree and it was some of the best she's ever had (and we cried that we didn't have a refrigerator in our hotel to take home the leftovers.). I had Ahi and it, too, was some of the best ever! And the veggies for our entree's side (broccoli, carrots and zucchini) was so good - I'd have THAT as an entree next time if I could!!! More regulars arrived and sat between us and Cindy/Scott and they were so friendly. Awesome vibe - everyone felt like friends and family and you could tell everyone LOVED Chico and staff. It was 14 years between trips to Paso, but it will be mere months until we return in large part to Chico and Catch!

Scampi and scallops

Great food and great service. Had dinner there (again) Sunday evening. I had the swordfish with scampi and shrimp garlic sauce and my wife had the scampi and scallops. Both done to perfection washed down with a great bottle of J Lohr sauv blanc. This is our third time here and we have never been disappointed.

Swordfish with shrimp scampi

Was a nice experience to eat here, I ordered one of their specials swordfish with shrimp scampi and ordered some oysters. The oysters were very fresh and tasty, the swordfish was slightly over cooked, but had great flavors. Our server was very attentive and quick to refill our waters and check on us. The ambiance is casual. Will definitely revisit on one of my future visits

The staff are extremely friendly and checked on us more than once as well as gave us a rundown of how everything worked. I had the ribeye steak tacos and I thought they were delicious. The steak was tender and well cooked, the avocado was fresh and the salsa was very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My wife had the blackened tofu tacos and wasn't as thrilled as I was. She found them a little bit bland even with the peanut sauce and didn't understand putting cabbage on something that's already lettuce wrapped. Overall it was still a good experience and I'd definitely stop in again if I'm in the area.

How had I Not heard about this place before?…read more I'm a local, I've lived in Paso for almost 10 years and only recently discovered this hidden gem. If you're visiting Paso Robles and enjoy organic teas this is your place. They also serve a light lunch and of course worderful hot and cold teas. If you're in Paso Robles (likely for wine tasting) MAKE sure to stop by this place as well.

6 Star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert…read more SIX STAR ALERT. SIX STAR ALERT. That right people, I said it.... And 6 times to be exact! Because let me tell you, the Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles not only deserves those 6 stars, but they truly EARNED each & every star (plus a bonus star) that I am awarding them for their exceptional hospitality. Now, let me tell you why! While in Paso for my wife's weekend birthday getaway, we had such fun time casually strolling the streets with no where to be. While window shopping, going in and out of the various shops, and just meandering through the downtown area.... We suddenly came across a little business called: The Spice of Life From the outside, it was pretty obvious what we were about to get into... ----Spices----Herbs----Teas---- Hey, they had me at Spices, but the rest is what kept me from leaving there anytime soon. Upon entering this quaint little shop, we were immediately immersed into a world that I Love. Spices, Spices and more Spices!!! Yeah, I'm that guy that at home, not in public of course, that will put a little spice on my hand and lick it off (to test it of course). I know, but I'm just a spice freak, what can I say! Yeah, give me a good lemon pepper, a blended steak seasoning or even a Kansas City Bbq Rub and I'll gladly give it the "Lance Lick of Approval". Yeah, I'm a Spice Man, & I'm not afraid to admit it. And let me tell you, this place has got spices!! Yeah, there are Jars and Jars, & more Jars of the finest, most incredible spices you can dream of. But on Top of the Spices... There are Oils, Vinegars, Teas, Tea Accessories, Herbal Supplements, Books, and More! And with all that shopping... Why not grab a quick bite alongside a freshly brewed coffee or tea at their mini cafe right on the premises. Heck, we did! (We had the Vanilla Chai Tea Latte) And it was Fire! So what makes this place earn a well deserved 6 star review?? It wasn't just their great product. Or even their beautifully prepared drink. It was their hospitality, their graciousness, and the human connection that we felt that went above the typical customer vs. retailer interaction. The lady who assisted us (forgive me but I forget her name) but she might have been maybe the owner or maybe even manager of the place was so kind, helpful and made our experience exceptional, so thank you for that! With so many great gift ideas and things that we needed for our own household, you know we did some damage and got a few things to take back home. So.... If you are a fan of spices like me, love yourself some tea, are looking for some unique, fun gift ideas or just want to enjoy a nice, quaint shop where the service hopefully exceeds your expectations like it did for me... Then take my highly recommended suggestion and get over to the... Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles ASAP!!!

The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!
