Our favorite Restaurant and Bar in Paso Robles. The food is always excellent and the service is terrific. What we really like is coming in to have a drink at the bar and being helped by Paige. She is such an awesome bartender. Last time we came in we asked her to surprise us and her surprise was well worth it. Actually ordered 2 more. We had a great time at this place. There were two options for paella, seafood and meat. We chose the meat paella, which was so delicious. We also got a couple of cocktails that were made with local gin from refind distillery, the drinks were so good. We got the bianco pizza, also delicious! We only ate out once out of 3 nights of our stay in Paso Robles and this was the place. Delicious cocktails- small but very well made. The paella was delicious and the serving was more than one person could eat. It made great leftovers. The ceviche appetizer with homemade chips were yummy. It was a perfect dinner. A great vibe in the restaurant. Counter tables are a little close together but our neighbors were friendly :-). Our server was very nice and attentive as well. BONE MARROW! Very Yum! This is were all your RBC's, WBC, & Platelets are formed just like in humans...but we are not as tasty. My Slovak Mom used to make this years ago before it was a fad, and you could buy it for almost nothing in a Supermarket or Butcher. Nobody wanted these things..but I surely did... especially the way my mom used to include in a stew or soup & then you could slurp out the fatty bloody goodness with gusto. OXTAIL! Yum! Off the Ox & off the tail...just meat with lots of sauce & savory spices...really a nice change from the usual rather bland but good Portuguese Oxtail soup that is endemic to Hawaii. Boy, I sure miss a hot steaming bowl of Oxtail Soup. CALAMARI....ah...OK, but kind of greasy & non too crispy. Mom would return it. LAMB SHANK....LOOKED FANTASTIC...but...good tender meat, but kind of a weird tasting sauce...it was OK...too pricey too. Mom made much better. Is this a *F.P.P.P. with a view of the cute downtown park surrounded by several eateries? (*AKA----Fancy Pants Paso Place?) Yes. Do they glorify the small portion pseudo-tapa theme/ French theme? We ate breakfast here today and was quite disappointed. They do not have regular or decaf brewed coffee, only latte, espresso and cappuccino. Tried to order a Bloody Mary, and they were out of Bloody Mary mix! My husband ordered a coffee, mezcal drink which they forgot, reminded them twice, and when it was finally brought it did not have the whipped cream on it, as listed on the menu. One of our party ordered the avocado toast and requested no egg, but the egg was brought on the dish anyway. Two of our party ordered potatoes which were to come with Manchego cheese, but only one order of cheese arrived. We asked for salt and pepper...none on the table...and they brought two dishes with some salt and pepper in them. Had to pinch the seasoning out with our fingers, no way to dispense. Service was slow also. The food was pretty good otherwise. The waiter did apologize for the poor service and took the coffee drink off the tab. At the time of our visit, there was only one other table of 4, so its difficult to understand how our orders were messed up. Went in for brunch for a celebration with my parents. Worst dining experience I've ever had. We stood at the host stand for several minutes with 5 staff members at the bar not acknowledging us. We were directed to a table by the open door shoved up against the tables next to us. The ambiance was dark, cold and the live music advertised was nonexistent. We sat waiting to be given menus but after several minutes I got up and grabbed menus myself. The brunch menu was extremely limited and they don't serve drip coffee? We ordered right away. My father ordered a latte which never came out. We waited for our food for 45 minutes and 2 out of the 3 meals were completely wrong and had to be sent back. The latte finally came out but with a ton of sugar in it which my father didn't request and can't have. At the hour mark we are still waiting for our correct food to come out. At this point there has been no acknowledgment on our servers part on the long food wait, food and beverage mistakes, or even to check on us. I gave up and needed to eat so I told the server to cancel my order and I left as I was starving. I met my parents after and they said the server charged them for not only my meal which I cancelled after waiting an hour, but the entire check without any kind of discount or apology for the mistakes, hour long wait on food and drinks or horrible service. I went in and demanded reimbursement after my step mother was crying over the horrible experience, lack of acknowledgement on the servers part of our time and money wasted and the incredibly overpriced check she was presented with with no effort to remove any of the incorrect items or items we waited over an hour for. It wasn't even that busy. I asked for a manager but there wasn't one on duty. Will never be back and will be sure to share this story. I worked in restaurants for 30 years and this was across the board unacceptable. read more

I must say this WAS one of my favorite spots in Paso Robles. How ever I walked in and sat at the bar this evening. It took the bartender 10 minutes just to recognize I was a new customer. Then I asked for my veil. And they said it was taken off the menu! So now I lost my appetite. I moved forward and ordered a glass of wine just to be nice. When I closed my bill I was charged $23.00 for a fricken 1 glass of red wine! I stay in Beverly Hills on every Sunday evening not even there do they charge me $23.00 dollars for a glass of redwine! Nice setting in front of the main square. Thankfully, the servers were quite prompt about keeping our ice waters filled as we simmered street-side in the 110 degree evening. Our cheerful and attentive waiter really helped to perk us up as raunchy and inconsiderate bikers roared by. We ordered the daily special of the seafood stew and the meat paella along with grilled octopus and empanadas that teased with promises of intriguing spices. The seafood stew was by far the best dish -- fresh, tender fish in a rich seafood broth. The meat paella was second best and just ok. The rice was heavily salted but curiously lacking in seasoning, especially saffron. The chunks of chicken and beef were beyond generous, completely obscuring the rice base. It's definitely a good choice for 2-4 hungry people to share. The empanadas were already mush under the sauce by the time they came to the table. I was fine with that, but the lack of much traditional seasoning was a let down. The grilled octopus was pretty decent. It was a tad bit dry, but at least it's not tough. With drinks and tip, the two of us tabbed out at $136, a reasonably priced dining option for Paso Robles. read more

Avoid this place and save yourself - poor service, cold food, food poisoning - but they kept the wine coming Had dinner with a group of 9 people on a Friday night. Yes, I expected things to be slow given how busy it was and our group size. We arrived around 6:30pm and immediately got drinks then ordered dinner. Food started arriving over an hour later. By 8:30pm, 8 of us had received our food - yes our main dishes were delivered, spread out, over more than an hour. Everything was cold. When serving the food, they made a huge production about holding hot cast iron pans for the paella and needing wood on the table, no need, the pans were cool to the touch. The 9th person, said where is mine? The waitress forgot to place her order. She was the lucky one. Her food was hot. When we complained to the manager, he said, "We bring food out when it is ready". Um, no you don't. Everything was cold. Finally the manager brought out 3 desserts to take care of us. No refund, no new fresh, hot food. Just 3 desserts. When he found out that 4 of the group had already left, he took one of the desserts off the table. . I wish I could make this stuff up, but ya can't. The next morning we found out, two of us got food poisoning. Like I said, the one whose order wasn't placed, was the lucky one. They did keep the wine flowing. Having some hot tasty food to go with it would have been great. Avoid La Cosecha and enjoy some of the other wonderful places around Paso Robles. read more

Food was decent, but nothing incredible. My husband got a pizza. The crust lacked flavor, but otherwise it was cooked well and we enjoyed the toppings. I got a meat paella. The flavors were good and it was a good-size portion, but the rice wasn't the texture that I would expect from a paella- not cooked on the bottom of the pan at all. It was just saucy and wet. The beet salad was delicious and I enjoyed my drink. Overall, not a bad experience, but not my favorite. The tables are also very crammed together in the tight space. read more

First of all, Erica is the best server we have encountered in any eatery in Paso. Beyond that, the food drinks and ambience are unrivaled. We shared the lamb shank after being delighted by the octopus and the bruschetta. Everything was delicious and I don't normally like lamb but this was good. I highly recommend this place, especially if you can request Erica. To the proprietors: Erica is a special gem that any restaurant would love to represent them. Located in downtown Paso, La Cosecha is a lovely spot with comfortable outdoor seating that is well spaced out. I tried the special which was a delicious seafood stew abundant with fresh succulent fish, shrimp, and mussels. The stew came with a hot sauce that added the perfect kick. read more

A group of friends and I went here recently for dinner service and it was AWFUL!!! They are under new management as of a week ago (according to our server) and it definitely showed. My group and i were 6 total. We had a reservation at 6pm and the restaurant wasn't busy. There were probably 4 tables of 4-6 people at this time and some folks at the bar. We went to order and the menu had changed since my visit last November. They ran out of a few appetizers too. Our food took 1 hour and 15 minutes. We ordered 3 pizzas, a salon plate, and 2 pork chops. The food tasted great but the server was no where to be found. He forgot our well drinks and wine orders on top of the food being late. Plus, he didn't bother to come fill up our waters. We tried to be as understanding as we could but after 45 mins of waiting we did flag our waiter down. The waiter also informed us that they fired the previous cooks so maybe this was part of the issue? Not sure! I used to love coming to this place but after this last Friday i won't be attending again and won't recommend this place. Such a bummer! ‍ avoid it at all costs! When we came back at 5:15pm the hostess said that they were fully booked and there was only outside seating available. In 111 degree heat? And there were tables available. She didn't say anything about making reservations to begin with, nor nowhere on the website or Yelp page does it say that the recommend or require reservations. The restaurant is quite elegant and classy even though it's very small. I passed by the restaurant in my way to Avila beach as it was late and wanted to get something to eat. Since I had to check in at the resort I was going to, I ordered a seafood paella and ceviche del día which were their higher rated dishes by fellow Yelp reviews. As I got to my destination I opened my food and the paella was flavorless, the rice was mushy and to my dismay no silverware to eat it with. The ceviche was bad. The restaurant as classy as it seems to be has the worst paella I have ever tasted and I can make better ceviche than their cooks. It's saying a lot since I can be considered one of the worst cooks in America. Will not recommend the paella or ceviche at this place. read more

We saw several open seats and didn't contest it and left. We walked out the door and the manager comes running out letting us know that the server made a mistake and that a table was ready for us. So we put our name down. I came back 20 minutes later just to ask how much longer and the lady receptionist tells us 45 minutes to an hour. I was like from now? She said yes. So I was like ok. We walked around and when we came back for another hour and a half, we walked in and checked, and the lady said about 45 minutes to an hour . I was like, from right now??? And she said yes. We're really booked. Are u kidding me? Is "45 minutes to an hour " your restaurant's standard response regardless of the track of time? First of all I understand the restaurant being booked but YOU COULD HAVE INFORMED ME THAT WHEN WE FIRST OR EVEN THE SECOND TIME WE WALKED IN. Literally, wasted 2 hours of my time where we could have just gone or look somewhere else. She said there was 3 people before us when we first checked in And those 3 people were still on her list when we came back at 9:15 pm. We never got any call or anything.
