I had a random craving for king crab legs a d there are so few options in Austin. A close restaurant that I have been to before and is just okay charges about double what the king crab, snow crab, and lobster tails go for at La Crawfish. It was my first time in and Anton was super helpful and patient with me, he was super helpful with my multiple condiment requests and I even saw him chase down a customer who was driving away after leaving a credit card at the table, sprinting at full speed. Anton's coworker Milton was amazing too. I came near closing time and ordered way too much food and they didn't make me feel weird for being the last person to leave which is so appreciated. Love these guys! Food was grat. too. I love Vietnamese food and the cheese roles were fire, so were the salt and pepper shrimp. I want to come back and try the pho and wings. Horrible Customer Service!!! Placed an order for myself and 3 Co-workers then only received half of our order. When I called the restaurant back they placed me on hold for 10 minutes, then told me I would have to drive back to their store to pick up the rest of my order. When I called back to let Management know that this was unacceptable I was told by "Juan" the store Manager that "he didn't appreciate my energy". That was after being placed on hold for 10 minutes, and then the person who had answered the phone hung up on me. Unbelievable! On top of all of this, the bread was stale. read more

Austin has very few options similar to what LA Crawfish offers and because I love boiled and flavored seafood, I frequent this place quite a bit. That being said, it is very hit or miss. The people are always nice, but the quality and flavor isn't always consistent. This is a walk up and order type of place so if you like having a waiter, this isn't the place for you. Also, there is no full bar just beer, which is fine with me, but not for some people. I've dined in here and gotten to go, and they've never gotten my order wrong. That's a definite plus. read more

I love the crawfish at this restaurant and my son loves the po-boh sandwiches. I am a crawfish addict so I have eaten crawfish in at least 6 restaurants between Austin and San Antonio. LA Crawfish is beyond the best! (I also frequent the San Antonio LA Crawfish location on Austin Highway, where the crawfish are also scrumptious). Their crawfish seasonings are what sets them apart from other restaurants. They offer 3 different seasonings and a choice of spiciness. My favorite is garlic butter, medium spicy. They also offer Cajun style seasoning or hot and sour. I have been going here on average of once a week, ever since the start of crawfish season in February It's so good to be able to buy crawfish here, even when they are out of season. read more

$10 a lb for FROZEN crawfish during CRAWFISH SEASON. smh. I live central and was willing to commute to LA for some crawdads and blue crab. The first time I visited I dined in ordered crawfish and blue crab. The crawfish was good but when I cracked the crab open it was slimy/undercooked and it stunk! They had given me a really old crab. They don't have servers so I had to get back in line wait for other customers to order to get new crab, napkins knife for a poboy and drinks .. What a pain. I ordered takeout this time, ordered crawfish and blue crab and it was horrible. The meat on both items were really tough ,dry and had no flavor. You can make something frozen taste good !!! don't just thaw the damn thing and boil it and toss sauce on it. This is why you're getting poor reviews. read more

The shrimp and crawfish boils were very good. Stay away from fries and wings or anything fried. For some reason, the fried items tasted like beignets and funnel cake. It's clear that either the oil is not changed or the fryer is not cleaned out between salty and sweet. We mentioned this to the staff and were offered replacement wings. However, the same issue persisted. I think this is a great place but they must look into the fried food issue. Worst experience, not worth the hype. My husband and I went for dinner payed almost $100, over half of that on crawfish. The gentlemen repeated our order 3 times to confirm. My husband ordered pretty basic regular cajun seasoning crawfish but when his food arrived they were garlic butter flavor. He pointed out the mistake and the server took his bowl to the back. Less than 3 minutes later the server returned with the "correct" order. It looked like they took the crawfish, rinsed it under the sink to take the garlic off and put it in a new bowl. They didn't even add cajun seasoning to cover up what they were doing because some of the crawfish still had chunks of garlic on them. I obviously wanted to complain, but my kind hearted husband didn't want to. Luckily it was us, who don't have any food allergies but imagine if they would have done that to some with an allergy.
