For the people who don't like to read entire reviews the food was ok but I've been to many Cajun style restaurants and never left hungry. Now for my full review the restaurant is clean which is good the staff was nice also a plus. My complaint with the place is I always make the same order no matter what Cajun place I eat at, and never leave hungry. This place was by far the most expensive one but for some reason I left hungry. Which leads me to believe the "pound" of shrimp I ordered wasn't a pound. The shrimp I did get was over cooked some of it would come apart as I try to peel it. With it being the most expensive I'm still trying to see why other places make your table bring you your drinks, dips and still manage to be cheaper than this place when I had to do all that myself. read more

In dallas this would be a 3 stars place, but beggars can't be choosers. I gave it 5 stars because it is the only good place in SA that serves the viet-cajun style of crawfish. If boiling crab sets the standard for all crawfish at a 10/10, this place is about a 7 or 8/10, which is legit for san antonio. I've been here over 20 times in the last year. This was our second time here. Did not disappoint ones again. My girls loved it. We had 3 pounds of crawfish and 2 pounds of shrimp with all the veggies and sausage in both Cajun and garlic butter. We had crawfish, andouille sausage, blue crab, and seafood gumbo. The sausage was okay. Nothing special but not bad. The gumbo was good. I would say definitely 3.5 stars. The blue crab was sooo good. I had with the garlic sauce which I recommend because of the milder taste of blue crab. The highlight was the crawfish. The spice was good. Very solid. So I'm not sure if any of you remember or had been to SRO in Houston. I haven't been in years and have really looked for a place that serves crawfish with the seasonings on the outside. I'm so lucky to have found LA crawfish on Culebra. There is another location but it is nothing like this one. The price pound is a bit steep however it is the best crawfish I have found in San Antonio. Service was great food was great everything was great. I only wish it was closer to me! We ordered one lb Cajun medium one lb garlic hot and 1lb cajun spicy. My favorite was definitely mixing the Cajun medium in with the Cajun spicy. This was because the Cajun spicy was a little too spicy for me but the occasion medium was not quite as spicy. We also ordered the shrimp in Cajun spicy and it was so good it was cooked great not soggy or mushy just perfect. We got the potatoes sausage and corn which I could have done without not because it wasn't good but because I was chowing down on the crawfish and shrimp. Love this place! Every time I come visit San Antonio, I make sure to stop by LA Crawfish (though I usually visit the Stone Oak location). Every single time has been consistently delicious. I would recommend the fried crawfish basket or the Cajun curry with crawfish. Both entrees come out fresh and delicious. The Cajun curry reminded me of a Thai Panang curry. I asked for no cilantro because I have a food allergy to cilantro (and mangoes but not important) the worst case I get itchy and break out in hives around my lips and throat but a good dose of Benadryl normally helps. The past times I've gotten pho from here the cilantro is normally all together and really easy to move out of the way but I also had set reminders to ask for no cilantro the next time around. Which was today, and the cilantro was all over all the noodles and shrimp! I get it mistakes happen so I'm not yelling or cussing but when I called the options were to drive back and they'll make a new one or I keep it and get some sort of discount the next time I come back. Why would I keep something I can't even eat that's such a waste of food and money?? And why was it enough to just say "oh yah sorry drive back even tho you typed specified it on the order our bad" I'm a little irritated at this point because the drive to Alamo ranch and back is a little out of the way and the traffic in that area makes me really anxious, So instead my bf goes to pick up the order and while hes out I get a call back from the place that they forgot to tell me I need to bring the food back so they can inspect it to make sure.... make sure what that y'all fucked up? That I'm not lying?? I'm a little peeved that they are even calling me back with this information (and they called back twice because apparently this was important but not important enough to be mentioned in the original call?? but luckily I did tell my bf to take the food just in case, it's really more the way the manager said it or the lack of explaining it on the first phone call. At this point I say look I'm not trying to be mad but the drive is out of the way and I have an allergy to cilantro and the words are written huge in the receipt why is it my job and fault to drive back (I should've checked the order before I left the parking lot but the bag was tied in a super tight knot so it's really not an option to even inspect the food) this is incredibly upsetting and a waste of time, money and gas driving back and fourth and back and fourth again. BUT HE CUT ME OFF before I even finish saying the drive is out of the way, with an apology saying yes sorry but as long as he's driving back that's fine. That's fine to who? YALL who fucked up my order and that said it needs to be brought to inspect it??? my first order was estimated to be ready at 7:41 my bf revived the new order that should have been correct in the first place at 8:54 that's not including the drive back that's just when they brought out the food to him! To that she responds "you want the tendon or not?" That right there set me off. I was so pissed so I said I didn't want anything. 3 stars for food. 5 stars for service. I've had take out from here multiple times when I'm craving the Crawfish Pho. While it's not the best pho I've had, there is a unique flavor to the broth and the broth itself is flavorful (which is a world's difference from the diluted broth of any of the pho joints in town). However, the broth is also very fatty so it doesn't sit quite as well with me. Decent, but. Or quite to par with their counterpart in Houston. I've also had the seasoned waffle fries, which are cooked well with mounds of flavor, so no complaints there. Now the reason it gets 4 stars was for the impeccable service that I alway receive, even when simply ordering on the phone and picking up, I always receive expedient and courteous service. I actually save it for their delicious fries or cook rice in it and eat it bc it's so good!! The shrimp are huge, plump, and naturally sweet! All the seafood are fresh and delicious!! You must try the wings!!! I swear it's the best wing place. The spicy garlic wings are amazing!! I always order them when I want wings. Their wings are a drier type with a rub, crispy, juicy and pretty big. Wing stop, wing draddys, and Buffalo Wild Wings do not even compare!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE(I work evenings as a server so I am in the service industry & have never written a single negative review but this takes the cake). I ordered crawfish online with a cash option to pay, I came in and asked to pay with a card the lady up front said no (Caucasian lady with tattoos on her arm). She insisted it must be cash which I understood since that is what I selected online, so I pulled out two twenty dollar bills (40$ total) with my tab being 25$, she said No it must be exact change(which was not stated on the website). I did not have exact change and she even admitted THEY HAD CHANGE and a cash register but refused to break down my 20$ bill so I could pay them. From her demeanor and attitude I felt like she was trying to make me feel I was in the wrong ? For not knowing their policies that were not stated anywhere. Almost to be like yeah you're not getting your food because you didn't come prepared. LIKE WHAT ? I'm standing there offering to find a way to pay so I can get my food. I explained there was a button that said cash when I ordered online and she rudely told me "well we've been having issues with our online system but we don't take it unless its exact and I have a register and change but you're supposed to give me exact change ". I felt like she just didn't want to break down my 20$ like she felt good being rude. During this time she was texting on her phone--who she claims were the manager of the store. She was super rude, I drove about 20minutes out with no option to get the food and pay..they rather throw out the food and be rude than offer me another method to FREAKING PAY THEM. I finally gave up after asking for other methods and said ok and left without the food. I work in restaurants and as a server, in every single restaurant I have worked as...you can re-ring in a order and hit a button saying "Dont Make" and managers can comp it off without wasting food and everyone's happy when mistakes occur. I feel like they did not care about the issue at hand or cared to consider their customer to make it right. I don't understand but I'm left heading home or to order food elsewhere. I got the garlic noodle and I thought it would be like stir fry but it was flavorless noodles topped with onions, sausage and crawfish... not good. I got the sampler oysters that included all three flavors and it was NOT good. I got the jalepeno chkn bites that was a no no as it needed some seasoning help. What was delish was the seafood gumbo I think it was better than Pappadeux didnt have to add any seasoning it was really good. The cajun style snow crab will change your life!! It was really really good. 5 spice thai wings was really good and full of flavor. Lemon pepper wings was ok. The garlic wings needed some help it wasnt as good as it could have been. The spicy beef pho was the best thing we had it had a really good flavor but almost no beef in it. Service was good everyone was friendly and helpful. The issues I had was that everything was extremely greasy. I realize it's fried but there is still a sogginess that shouldn't have been there. It also wasn't immediately clear that the shrimp basket was fried shrimp, but I didn't mind. I'm also not sure what's up with the napkins here. Each table should have a roll on it given the messiness of most of the food. Overall it was very clean, good service, and the food was decent. This was my first time here and I gotta say I liked it! I like the look of the place and how it made me feel comfortable. It is a non-average looking restaurant! The service was good and the food came to us quickly. I got the spicy beef pho. I really liked it! The broth was tasty and spicy, and overall it was a great bowl of pho! My only complaint I have about it was that there wasn't enough noodles. There were less noodles than you would get at a normal pho restaurant for about the same price for a normal bowl of pho. I wish they could've given more. Sadly, I didn't get the crawfish pho, but I'm definitely gonna that one next time. I also got to have a little taste of one of my family member's funnel cake fries, and it was really good. It tasted just like funnel cake! First visit to LA Crawfish, and I will definitely be back. The decor is very open, with picnic table/bench type seating. We ordered a Shrimp Po-Boy, a pound of boiled crawfish and 4 red potatoes. After ordering at the counter, we stopped at the drink station, then sat down. Not even a minute had gone by, when they were already bringing out our food. The service was that fast! The portions are quite large, and you will not walk away hungry! We came at the end of the lunch rush, so wait times may vary based on the crowd size. Extremely disappointed with service on this past Thursday evening, and to include my last visit three months ago. I start with the previous visit we ordered our food, a bag of shrimp, twelve oysters, a noodle fish and the rice dish when we go to pay we are advised that this location no longer offers the military discount. Okay.. the rice was horrible and the oysters were small. Now let's talk about Thursday the 18th, we go in order the twelve oysters, the noodle dish and rice dish. We go to our table and the oysters come out about ten to thirteen minutes later and the young lady days the rest of your order will be coming out shortly. The oysters are once again small and my husband and I just sit and wait. We watch other tables get their food who ordered after us. And the food being delivered to these folks is the same order we placed minus the magic rice. After waiting 37 minutes, I go to the counter to request a refund and I am advised that the kitchen ran out of broth and that was the reason behind our order not being brought to us. The young begins to explain that our food is currently being started that we can continue to wait. In my mind, what broth was needed.. Especially when other tables were getting their bowls of the garlic noodles it wasn't like we ordered Pho. Not once did someone come to our table to even explain our order was put on hold due to waiting on the broth. Again, I say we didn't order Pho so I am not sure what it mattered to our order but that was the excuse. So we finally were given a refund and of course the young lady was giving us attitude the whole time. All I can say... If you don't like person and you don't want people to ask why is it taking 37 minutes to get their food... Don't work in a restaurant. The thing and her attitude, I don't get.. I was polite.
