Came to this bakery because a friend recommended it, overall was super disappointed. As we entered there were 2 homeless men asking for money right at the door. I wanted a slice of cheesecake the way the mexican bakeries make it and was very unimpressed. The top of my cheese cake was full of eggshells. When I called to let them know, she didn't offer to refund or apologize she simply said okay I'll let the bakers know. Also, in my opinion pretty pricey for what you get. Favorite spot for pan. My favorite has been the muffins. My girl is from out of state and I got her hooked on their fresh conchas. The line was a bit long but moved pretty fast. 6am - 6:30 am, this place is a war zone, if you want to see people double parking and people driving into oncoming traffic, this is the place to be. No hate, just facts, you're gonna see yard workers hauling their gear, which means parking is gonna be crazy, but the flip side is that the food is probably pretty good. I work in the kitchen setting she has the grill way low so the orders take longer a flour tortilla doesnt take that long to heat up. It's not exactly the prettiest place in Fresno, but this gem truly stands out on the street! The decor is absolutely adorable. It has an older Spanish feel inside and it showcases the sweet bread beautifully. However, I ordered the mini strawberry cream chocolate pie. OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!! It is amazing!! The whipped cream taste like it has been kissed with vanilla beans and the graham cracker pie crust is the perfect size. Thick enough to hold the layer of chocolate and luscious strawberries, but not SO big that it takes over the pie. SO STINKIN YUMMY!!! Definitely check out this place in Fresno!! read more

La Estrella has long been known in our great city for having excellent Mexican bread, and they live up to all of the expectations. The bread is soft, and all varieties of bread are available at all times of the day. The bakery has a hot food section, and it is a gem! I ordered a plate of barbacoa (slowly cooked meat), and it was superb. The measurement of quality in Mexican food is noted in the beans and rice from any given establishment. La Estrella does not disappoint, and the rice and beans had tons of flavor, and reminded me of my grandmother's food from Aguascalientes, México.
