I didn't find La Farm to be worth the raving I've heard about it. My meal was fairly average, and for my first time there I found the menu / order process hard to navigate. There is a main board with about 4 options on it and then a stack of menus that were off to the side where I initially did not see them. This is also not a very vegan friendly cafe. I was hoping more of the breads would be accommodating but most had cheese, butter, or honey within them. read more

This place is good for bread or pastries but do not get anything to go they just toss it together. Also the location in whole foods is lack luster with no concern with sustainability. Everything comes in plastic and you cannot even get a coffee in a cup. I asked why and they said price....when a sandwich and a coffee cost me 20 bucks you can let me eat with real silverware and drink from a legit cup. read more

La Farm continues to go down hill. The surly baker in their original location continues to be annoying and give the place a bad vibe. The downtown Cary location looks like an abandoned building. The croissants are still decent but everything else I've tried lately has been mediocre. The scones, in particular, are not worth the price or the calories. They used to have good cookies, now they have average ones. It'd be nice to have an alternative French bakery in town but La Farm's expansion is likely to block any hope of that. I used to really enjoy going there. I doubt I'll go back again. read more

After hearing about LaFarm for a long while, I finally made it in for lunch. This location has both indoor and outdoor seating. You order and pay first, so the menu is up on the wall. There are not a lot of options, but I chose a BLT with a side salad. No choice of dressing, no choice of bread, no choice of toasted or not, not asked if I wanted my bacon crispy or not. Young boy just took the order with no comment, even though I told him it was my first time there. I also got a chocolate croissant. The order came out fairly quickly. I went in the mid afternoon, so they were not very busy. Looked good until I picked it up....OH NO! The bread was ROCK HARD. I dont mean just toasted....really, really HARD. It was VERY difficult to eat. Some of the bacon was not cooked well at all, so had to discard some of it, leaving the sandwich pretty bland. The salad was ok, the dressing good, but I have no idea what it was. The croissant was just ok...I would not order again. You can get better elsewhere for cheaper. I was very disappointed as I live near this place and after hearing such good things, I guess it expected better, especially for the high price. I will not return. read more

So, I have been to many places around RTP, and it always amazes me that you cannot judge a book by its cover (well, you can, but you may be wrong). La Farm is definitely one of those places in a non-descript strip mall, but right away you can tell that something is different. It is very busy outside, with people enjoying some lunch, snack or drink on the outside tables. In addition, when you walk through the front doors, you will be immediately flooded with terrific sights and sounds. This place smells amazing, and the people were so nice... basically ask and you shall receive. If you are curious about something, get a sample :), you will not be disappointed. We went in for a little dessert, and didn't know that they had a savory side as well, which was unfortunate, because I had just had lunch, and wanted to try theirs, right away. Had a couple macaroons, samples of various breads. I will post a few photos that will hopefully give you a reason to go check it out. I would love to go back, get a coffee, and just enjoy the scene for a while. next time! read more

The last few times we went for breakfast we were disappointed. The pouched eggs seem to be always hard boiled and inedible. The eggs Benedict are consistently dry with hardly any hollandaise and the ham wasn't even noticeable. When you drop $49 on breakfast for 2, you shouldn't have to choke it down. I went to La Farm on Cary Parkway on Saturday. The business had to close early (4:00 pm) because of the lack of staff (seems to be prevalent among restaurants and other retail businesses....such a shame!) I walked up only to be told that it was closed. I go back to my car and called the bakery. I asked for the manager. A gentleman by the name of David was very apologetic when I complained about it being closed. He said multiple times how sorry he was. He asked me if He could step away from the phone and in about 5 minutes, he walked to my car and gave me a bag with a couple loaves of bread. I was really taken back! He was so cordial and kind. I couldn't thank him enough. I live about 45 minutes away, but I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. David's customer service was incredible. I thanked him many times. I will be back again.....possibly tomorrow. read more

I gave la farm bakery a 4 star due to them being pricey. Love the onion soup . Very flavorful.Always get fresh bread loaf every time I go. It only last a day at my house. Favorite is sourdough or cheese bread. The pimento cheese is one of the freshest. Also get the white chocolate croissant. You will keep going back . Also the double chocolate crinkle cookie is to die for . You can ask them for uncooked and cook it at home for a warm cookie. La farm is a great example of farm to table. Food is always fresh.A must if you live near cary read more

La Farm is usually awesome but this morning we were NOT impressed with the food. We arrived at 9 am and it wasn't busy at all. We had our food by 9:08 am. My boyfriend ordered the croque madame and I ordered the avocado toast. Both of our meals arrived cold and were missing the usual scone. If we're going to pay $30+ for breakfast I expect my food to be warm. Given that it was so slow and the food came out so fast, our food clearly was not fresh. VERY disappointed with La Farm. read more

What's there not to like about La Farm. They have great French breads and pastries. Their quiches are awesome. If you are looking for something above the normal grocery store cake then come to La Farm Bakery. Great place for weekend brunch and breakfast. read more

The restaurant is always dirty. Floors, tables, garbage overflowing and you can smell the garbage when you sit outside. Service is slow and typically orders come out wrong. I'm shocked that the owners don't know this is how the customers feel. Food is ok, but for what they claim should be excellent. There are very few places to eat in the area so people go because we have no options. We need competition so that La Farm has to improve. There's so much potential. We literally were sitting under a broken fan that made a constant rattling noise...and, looked like it was about to drop on our table. How could management not see these issues? read more

Wow. Yummy. I came here with my husband this past Saturday for lunch and it was AMAZING. I had the Southwest Turkey Sandwich (added avocado) and a chocolate chip cookie. I finished every bite, it was SO good. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The cookie has a lot of chocolate chips, so beware if you aren't huge on chocolate, like my hubby (more for me!) Stopped in for lunch today and had the smoked turkey sandwich I'm telling you it was to die for. My coworker had a turkey salad and loved it as well and I'm telling you the peach tea that they have is unforgettable. They were nice and busy for lunch service but not too busy to not get in and out rather quickly. From the bakery made bread to the fresh produce, 10/10 from me! read more

California snob here I guess... First off, I'm from the Bay Area ($$$ expensive everything) and the pastries here are more expensive. I was shocked. We ordered the crepe brûlée French toast... came with no garnish, just a plastic cup of syrup. And it was... not good. Not bad but I stopped eating - not worth the calories. Got scrambled egged and fruit for my kid, and when asked for salt and pepper was told "on condiment bar" not "sure I'll grab some" Coffee is YUCK. Bland and boring. I love everything here but my favorite is absolutely the Linzer Challah. Homemade challah filled with fresh raspberries and cream, then topped with rock sugar and toasted almonds. Get it. You won't regret it. Favorite breakfast items: eggs Florentine with smoked mornay and the spinach feta quiche. Favorite lunch item: Mediterraneo (the focaccia bread is delicious) Favorite baked items: LINZER CHALLAH (need I say it again? amazing), the scones (cinnamon white chocolate is our favorite but all are delicious), white chocolate raspberry sweetbread (YUMMM!!) It can get a bit loud and crowded inside, so we like to sit outdoors when the weather is warm enough. Prices are very reasonable. Honestly, my favorite thing about La Farm is how many samples they have by the front. They always have at least 5 options including their homemade granola, pimento cheese, challah, banana bread, and more. I have found many of my favorite baked items/breads sampling. La Farm brought NC bakeries to the national scene. A pretty-French Baker in our backyard? Yes, please. The Croque Madame is my go to here but the BLT was excellent as well. Creme Brûlée French Toast can be hit, or miss, but has been on point of late. The pepperoni loaves are great as well but obviously not the healthiest of choices. My favorites from the dessert side of the house are the chocolate almond croissant and the chocolate chip cookie. They also serve both sweet and unsweetened peach tea which is really good. They expanded the space about a 1.5-2 years ago so there's more seating but it's still usually jam-packed on the daily here. Plenty of options to choose from and I didn't even talk about their loaves! read more

Hands down one of the best places for breakfast/brunch in Cary. La Farm always serves quality, fresh and delicious food. You can't find better baked bread than what La Farm offers. The only knock is that portions can be a bit on the smaller side, but I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here over the years. I was surprised that the line to order wasn't out the door on a Saturday close to noon. It's usually a battle to find a table and it's not hard to see why. One thing that may be underappreciated is how they don't include an option to tip at the POS. This is something that annoys me with places that don't do much in terms of waiter service, yet still make you feel obligated to tip when you order at the register before you've even gotten your meal (ie. Jersey Mike's). Despite this, the staff here is always friendly and professional. read more

The ordering process was really inefficient and frustrating. I walked in to two lines leading to the two separate registers, but it quickly morphed into one long, slow one. Then a couple, not realizing, cut the line and approached one register to order. When they were done, a guy in the long line clarified the policy. The woman at the register said there's one line and I'll call people up to it, to which the man pointed out that she hadn't followed that policy when she let the other couple cut. But that wasn't the really frustrating part. The woman on my register (different from the first) did not know the menu well at all. I asked for the vegan focaccia sandwich and she said that she didn't think they had anymore (they did) but it was the exact same as the Mediterranean focaccia. When I pointed out that the Mediterranean focaccia was indeed different (duh) and had mozzarella, she had a shocked Pikachu face. She then got my vegan sandwich and said, "Oh, you don't want this, it has cheddar cheese on it," to which I had to hold up the line to walk back to the display that said vegan cheese to confirm I could eat it. She then proceeded to drop it sideways in a bag (what!? who does that with a sandwich full of stuff) and hand it over. I checked out, sheepish that the line had double behind me. We sat down to wait for our food and low-and-behold, we're missing our cake that we had ordered. Most of the food was decent, except for the dry, unsalted chips. We've had La Farm bread before from Whole Foods and will stick to getting it there! read more

First of all, get your hands on a white chocolate baguette. Toss it in the microwave for 10 seconds and you'll have your new favorite bakery item. You're welcome. Second, I love this place. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in Paris. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food makes you want to come back. Highly recommend for a date or family dinner. read more

I came in to buy some fresh bread and walked away with more than expected. Between my sister and I, we got the La Farm bread, Asiago Parmesan bread, pimento cheese spread, a lemon curd tart, and a chocolate raspberry dessert. Everything was delicious! A very loud and noisy bakery that also serves breakfast and lunch. I ordered two daily specials: the salmon egg benedict and a French toast. The salmon egg benedict is on par with my expectations. Served with fruit, whip cream and a soft baked cookie(?). The only con is that the egg is slightly too raw with egg yoke still transparent. The French toast was a slight disappointment. First off it wasnt fried and was slightly soaky when I was cutting it. Second off, I was expecting some peanut butter or some other saucing/flavored cream to go with it. The house coffee meets expectation and rather uninspiring. The service is a plus ralative to its competitors like penera. Overall it's a 3.5 stars. read more

You wouldn't even know that you're about to walk into a French cafe if you judged La Farm Bakery from the outside. Once you walk in, you smell all of the bakery items, and see the cutest cafe. Ordering was slightly confusing. You order at a counter in the corner of the cafe, then sit down. It's pretty crowded and not really kid friendly. The food was delicious! Especially the white chocolate baguette. I think the food is slightly overpriced for the portion size. But after all, it is French. It's a nice place to go to at least once for the experience and food! read more

Having walked to Brew to find they were closed for maint/renovation, and realizing Doms is not open on Mo or Tu, I figured I would continue my stroll to LaFarm for a quick lunch. I have been many times and generally enjoy their items (but not the pricing). I was wanting a bagel but could not recall seeing them there before. Having looked over the available displayed items and not seeing any, I asked a staff person - "I don't remember having seen them before, but do you have bagels?" Without hesitation, I was presented with a head tilt, a sigh, and a condescending ..... "French bakery...we don't do that here", then they walked away into the rear area of bakery. With my tail between my legs, I then turned my attention to a single remaining blueberry scone. While still wondering what else must be bothering that particular staff/bad day/etc, I was able to order the scone and an oat milk latte from another, more pleasant, staff person. Having paid, I went to an outside table to enjoy, and "recover from the dismissal". The outside area is reasonable, but I was quickly overwhelmed by flies, the scone consistency was very wet and doughy - not scone like (more like a cake doughnut), and the latte was beyond drinkable - scolding hot. Not a great day at La Farm. I was not deterred and took a bite. The liver was mush; it had absolutely no texture, and the taste was just awful. Not wanting to tempt fate (I have had food poisoning before), I did not eat any more than that first bite. As I mentioned before, the waiter was excellent and removed the offending entree. He offered to put in an order for something else. I opted for the calamari appetizer, which was okay. They comped my calamari and didn't charge for the liver. I hope the restaurant will rethink this dish. I suppose it could have a following, but at the very least, make sure the liver is fresh and high-quality.

The rice that accompanied the code was bland, and the corn/snap-pea mixture with the scallops was very simple without any interesting flavors (heavy on the salt). We also had the sides Brussels sprouts and Japanese eggplant, which were average, and didn't have anything unique about them. The level of the food just didn't measure up to the cost for me. And to top it off, on one of the hottest days of the year, the air conditioning was clearly not up to the task. The dining room we sat in is completely surrounded by glass, so I'm sure AC is a challenge, but it was warm and uncomfortable. Summary: it wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price, and we likely won't return.

The beef rib is lean yet tender and flavorful. Melt in your mouth but without the squishy fat in between the meat. It was cooked and rendered to perfection. The rub is delicious. The pork ribs are my new favorite! IF I could somehow marry them with the (and don't hate me for saying this) P.F.Changs Korean BBQ rib sauce, I'd never eat anything else ever again. The pork ribs had a ever so slightly sweet and tangy rub on them. Very tender, hardly any fat so again, a perfect cook and render. The brisket was a tad salty for my preference but oh my, it was cooked to utter perfection. It was melt in your mouth moist and so flavorful. The turkey was very flavorful and will make for excellent sandwiches tomorrow. It was moist, which for turkey, is a testament to their skill. I didn't try the sausages as it's not my thing, our kids loved them. Lastly the pulled pork was the absolute best I've ever had. Period and hands down. They serve out of a food truck so the line forms outside, not a big deal but this day was rather chilly, still, for Texas styled ribs, it's worth the cold. Because we have experience with a Texas styled ribs restaurant (brick and mortar) in PA that would often sell out, we checked the menu for anything crossed out. We checked for any notices indicating items unavailable. There were no such notices and nothing on the menu was crossed out. We got in line and waited. Ten minutes, then twenty and the line barely moved and most of that was due to patrons ahead of us in the line deciding to leave. After an hour, it just over that, someone came and advised that they've been sold out of beef ribs, pork ribs and brisket for 2 hours. Wow. Way to show respect for our time. Why not cross out those menu items? Even after that announcement, they didn't update their menu. I just don't think I can hand over my money to a business that doesn't respect my time or business. EDIT: I received a reply from Dampf and appreciate the courtesy of that reply. We will give them a try, perhaps using the online ordering to be certain we don't show up when something has been sold out.
