I really like La Farm Bakery for their different pastries and breads. The scones are excellent and are available in several different flavors. I think the Chatham Street location is good as it is in downtown Cary, however the side of the building facing Chatham street needs improvement. Why haven't the owners made some visual enhancements to the side of the building to make it more appealing?? There's a broken glass pane and it looks like a messy warehouse from the side. Again, it's a great bakery. But a great business should also include a bit of effort toward the esthetics starting in the parking lot and into the building for the customer. So this is my review of La Farm after eating here for over 10 years. Why haven't I reviewed them before? I have no idea. I suppose I imagined there are plenty of positive reviews so no need to chime in. But how often do you look at a review and say "5,000 5-star reviews?!?" So I'm here to pile on. I'm sure this little strip mall gem deserves that and more. The best places in NC are all in unassuming strip malls. So bizarre. Clearly I like the place if I've come back over and over for 10+ years. But please note that La Farm is across town, in the middle of a suburb notorious for its traffic and terrible, horrible, no good roads. I love you, Cary, we even have the same name. But seriously. But I really lurve this place. Enough to travel there on the regular. From the Croque Madame made on the most toothsome bread ever to the delicate macaroons to the sweet, unctuous delight of the white chocolate baguette, this place soothes my wannabe-baker's soul. They've expanded the dining room which helps a lot, but it's still always packed. The handmade dips, the coffees, the local artisan foods (shoutout to Killer Toffee of Cary, NC!), and ohhhh, ALL THE BAKED GOODS--they all rock. La Farm Bread is a staple in our home. The classes are fun and informative too, though a tad pricey. But I'm paying for expertise, so it goes. And you should too. Just. Go. Oh, and eat a white chocolate baguette. *3.5 stars* This place is bittersweet for me I love this place for the bread more than anything! It's so delicious, and the butters they sell to go with them are amazing, specifically the green garlic butter one. I had a Croque Monsieur the other day that was good, and I've tried a few pastries that were pretty good as well (nothing mind blowing though.) I rounded up to 4 stars but I almost gave 3 because I had a S'mores Macaron the other day that was probably one of the worst things I've ever put in my mouth :/ First of all, the texture was totally off, it was so soft, but the taste was the worst part- it tasted like some sort of chemical. I can't even begin to imagine what could have made it taste the way it did. Also, I bought a bag of malted milk balls and they tasted like peanut butter, so that was disappointing. Overall, I recommend La Farm for the bread and butter 100% but can't really recommend them for sweets, which is very unfortunate. read more

OMG SO GOOD! I had been eyeing this place for a while and every time I had been in town I was not able to go, but this time I made it my mission to stop and I literally spent a small fortune in there. First we started with breakfast. I had the BLT with avocado and Yes it was delicious. Bacon was cut thick and cooked crisp. The lettuce, tomato and avocado were fresh and the bread was soft and delicious. Each entree came with a white chocolate and cinnamon scone and breakfast potatoes. Their chocolate cake was moist and rich. The macaroon tasted authentic and delicious. I also brought a garlic spread, chipotle pimento cheese spread, sliced french bread and their famous white chocolate baguettes and I was sad I had to share. The garlic spread was the best. White chocolate baguettes were out of this world too. This place is a must try. To make the visit even more memorial the owner came out and chatted with us for a few because he noticed we were not one of their frequent visitors. That made my day, that someone so busy was actually paying attention closely to his customers and made an effect to interact with them. Good business ethics. read more

I'm extremely familiar with this place but I hadn't ate here in a while so I decided to stop by while in the area. I ordered the BLT sandwich and it was really good. I love the pimento cheese that they serve on the sandwich. Of course the star of the sandwich was the bread. It's a bread with seeds on it, really good! The sandwich came with chips which are also pretty good. Overall I had a very delicious meal. The food came quickly as there wasn't very many people there at that time in the early afternoon. I love how they have samples of the spreads and breads inside of their bakery. They have a fairly large selection of fresh baked breads. The decor is simple but it really goes along with the French theme. I've been a fan of this place for a while because I know their quality is top notch. The other 5 star reviews aren't lying, this place is pretty amazing! Everything from the soups to sandwiches to all the mouthwatering bakery items just cease to amaze. The caveat is if you come in during breakfast, brunch or lunch any day be prepared to wait in an annoying line going out the door. Literally you will see people scrambling for seats everywhere. So just make sure you have time on your hands. While waiting in said annoying line at least they entertain you with some samples waiting on shelves of bread areas. You can also shop during this wait and pick up bakery items that you can pay for with your lunch once at the register. We were here for brunch on a Saturday, and spent 30 minutes in line. I picked up some Chocolate Pistachio Bread that when sliced has a glowing green color on one side and dark brown goodness on the other. At $6 a loaf though, I wanted it to make my tastebuds do the oompa loompa dance but no go. For my meal I went to bat with a Southwest Roasted Turkey sandwich with chips and a seasonal Turkey Poblano Chili. Both were great, but the chili could use some more flavor and spice. If you are a vegetarian the menu is a bit scarce, but there are soups and salads. They do have a nice outdoor covered patio, but it was too cold to use on this particular day. Overall, La Farm is a local staple and you just gotta put your big boy pants on and deal with the annoyances of eating there. Bon Appétit! read more

They know their breads, pastries, and baked goods at La Farm! I've gotten so many different things from here, but my all time favorite item is hands down their white chocolate and cinnamon chip scone. It's amazing. If you're looking for something savory, I've also had their asiago sausage scone which I really liked. The herbs they use in it make all the difference. One of their most popular items is the white chocolate baguette. When I eventually got around to trying it, it made sense why that is. It doesn't top the white chocolate scone in my book, but it's still very good. Bonus: They always have several free samples of their breads, spreads, and granola to try. So as you're waiting in the inevitable line that you'll find yourself in if you go on a weekend, you can pop a sample (or several) in your mouth to pass the time. That was actually how I found out about their chipotle pimiento spread. It's a must try if you enjoy a nice deli sandwich. You can make one at home with some roasted turkey, some of this spread, and a little red pepper jelly and it's so good. read more

This place is super popular and always really busy. I was pretty hungry when I arrived, and even though the line was line and the place was hopping I didn't get hangry due to the plethora of samples available while waiting in line. I enjoyed the sample of bread and pimento cheese so much that I almost bought the pimento cheese from the refrigerated case! My mom and I had checked out the menu hanging outside and pretty much decided what we wanted, but then we saw the specials board while we waited in line. Holy cow, were the options delicious-looking! It was a really hard choice but my mom got the zucchini tartine and I got the lobster and shrimp roll. The zucchini tartine was kalamata olive bread topped with herbed goat cheese, roast zucchini, red onion, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives and Parmesan, then baked- served with a side salad. The lobster and shrimp roll was toasted challah filled with lettuce, tomato, lobster and shrimp tossed in cucumber-tarragon dressing- serviced with house made chips and ranch for dipping. I almost feel guilty talking about the specials because I know they probably were unique to the day we visited. Still, check out the specials board! My mom also got an iced coffee, which she loved (and she's picky about her coffee). The decor is comfy and homey. We were able to grab a table without any trouble, and our food came quick. We didn't see anyone waiting around for long to grab a table, so I think they have the flow pretty well worked out there. It's in a super basic Cary strip mall next to an ABC store. But it is a hidden gem! Be sure to check it out if you're ever in the neighborhood- and grab a loaf of bread to take home for later! read more

This place made me so happy. It took me back to my days living in France and every bite of everything I consumed was perfection. The ham and butter baguette, the baguette itself, every sample of the plenty they have offered, from breads to poundcakes...the desserts! They were all delicious. I took as much as I could to-go to take back with me on our drive back home We went back for breakfast. The Benedict was really good and the french toast is the best I've ever had. I am heartbroken I don't live in NC because I need this place in my life. If we eventually get to move here as we're hoping, this will absolutely be our weekend place to eat at as a family...and possibly just my regular weekday place to eat at, as well, adding in evenings for desserts. YES. If you haven't been make a stop this evening, this weekend, or pop over to Whole Foods (yes they're there too). The crispness of the ciabatta, balanced sweetness of Demi white chocolate baguette, crunch of croquette madam/monsieur or try a smooth café au lait. We went for a last breakfast over the weekend. Parking was kind of full and we had to look around a bit for someone to leave. Line and wait time were long, but at least they had bread samples to try while you wait. I ended up getting the frittata with quinoa salad and an iced tea. They brought the food within 5 minutes or so. The frittata was amazing! Slightly crispy on the outside but also fluffy on the inside. I ordered another one for dinner and it was still good warmed up in the oven. I wasn't a huge fan of the quinoa salad, but it might be just because I don't like cold quinoa. My friend got the crab omelette, and he really seemed to like it. It was my coworkers birthday also, so I got an orange napoleon for her and she loved it. I came by this past weekend when the sun was setting to grab some booze next door (they are next to the ABC store) and my girlfriend and I both liked the atmosphere we saw so we took a detour inside. The store was so cute and definitely invoked feelings of being on the Champs-Élysées. There were several free samples inside and the psychology behind these samples worked because we loved what we tasted so we stayed for dinner. I ordered the avocado chicken salad with goat cheese instead of the bleu cheese. My girlfriend ordered the Mediterraneano. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Cary. Maybe because it has a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. They have a parking lot and usually always find a parking space. Once you go in they have pastries and things to go and take with you. Their bread is always fresh and warm to the touch. Their pastries are delicious and soft like their almond chocolate croissant. They had run out of almond chocolate croissant but they had just finished a new batch of them. The croissant I got was warm and melt in your mouth delicious. Love this place, their coffee, friendly staff, and bread. Highly recommended but it does get busy on the weekends so try to come early! read more

Decided to treat myself to a nice Christmas Eve breakfast before braving the grocery store for last minute items. Ordered a latte & quiche. Slice of Quiche was a bit overpriced but at least it was made the way I like it (thin crust of moist quiche) but I was definitely disappointed with the outcome of latte. Where do I even start??? Everything about this place is FANTASTIC. It's an adorable restaurant and bakery with fabulous servers. It's beautiful in the morning with natural light. Seriously something you'd see in France. Moving on, I came at the recommendation of a friend and stayed for quite some time. I had their chai tea latte: SO NICE. Not the overly sweet stuff from Starbucks or the grocery store. Truly, lightly sweetened with cinnamon richness. Deluxe breakfast sandwich on a croissant: You haven't had a breakfast sandwich until this one. It's fairly simple, but the scrambled eggs were buttery and perfect. Sausage wasn't greasy. AND THE CROISSANT. Truly amazing - warm and flaky and melt in your mouth. Blueberry scone: So i'm a sucker for some scones - this one didn't disappoint. Not too dense, but perfect with some coffee. La Farm Bread: I was a sucker so I bought 1/4 a loaf home. It's kept well and was delicious. It's a light sourdough (unusual, but delicious). Creations by a French master baker--legit. I recently traveled to France (LOVE French cafe food and pastries) and this joint is as good as it gets! Their coffees, chai latte, cookies, special holiday baked goods, apple tarts and breads are a must get. I came two days in a row and had to buy more tarts for family and friends. Even coming into this space is very classic French boulangerie. So charming and cute. Great place to chat and catchup with friends over coffee and a chocolate croissant. The lines can get long, but they go by quickly. If you dine in, you order at the register, take a number, and grab an open seat. The drinks and food will be brought to you.
