Absolutely delicious! Grabbed a Too good to go bag from here and it was a phenomenal deal. I'm not 100% sure what I got, it was a plate with rice and beans and a pulled meat, possibly pork. It was incredibly tasty and the worker was super nice! I also got a bar that tasted like it was made with banana or plantain and that was also pretty good. Next time I'm in the area I would definitely come back

It's the holiday season and I was in the mood for tamales. I was working in the Pico-Union area and saw on Google maps that I was close to La Flor de Yucatan. I've only visited once and remembered enjoying their food, but it's been probably been almost a decade or so since my last visit. Their recommended item is the cochinita pibil so I ordered it in a taco and a tamal. This is a Yucatan bakery, so you will feel you are in a different world looking at the menu. It's not your typical Mexican panaderia (bakery). You will definitely want to order the tamal colado and other tamales maybe. It is unlike any tamale I've had. The tamal is super smooth like a pudding consistency served in a banana leaf. You'll want to order their specialty cochinita pibil and a variety Yucatecan pan dulce to try. The cochinita pibil was delicious, but I think have had more flavorful versions before at other restaurants. I think their strength is in their tamales. This deserves a place on every "best tamales in Los Angeles" list. You'll probably want to call in your order to make sure they have tamales when you arrive as it's the holiday season and it seems that they sell out of their tamales. The service is friendly and helpful at the counter. If I lived in this neighborhood, it would be the kind of place I would frequent for breakfast or lunch. The bakery is the epitome of hole-in-the-wall. You're not coming for the ambience, but to try some exciting regional Mexican food. It looks like they've modernized their menu, but the bakery feels like a time warp. There's nothing trendy or hip about this place. The menu feels out of place being so modern looking in design. There isn't any place to sit inside because the bakery is very small, but they do have a small seating area with tables outside. Parking is available on the street at the meters or the neighborhood if you're lucky. There's also the Domino's Pizza parking lot. There is probably room for one customer in their mini lot in the back. La Flor de Yucatan should be on every local and visiting food lover's list to try in Los Angeles. Just looking at their menu gives you a feeling excitement and adventure. For a moment, you can pretend that you are on vacation perhaps somewhere in the Yucatan.

This place is a local favorite for us. Being native yucatecans this place definitely helps us feel closer to home. This place serves authentic yucatecan food. We love eating the tamales yucatecos which are chicken filled tamales. The panuchos a a bit on the dryer side but still good in flavor. There empanadas are always cooked to perfection. One of my top favorite things is the ojaldra which is a sugary ham and cheese dessert. It definitely is a delicacy. I wanted to show some love to something from my culture that is delicious.

Friendly service. Street parking. Affordable prices. Came here to pick up some hot food and empanadas... great deal. Ingredients are fresh.

I ordered UberEats for delivery last week. It was my first time trying champurrado and I liked it. I also ordered Cochinita Pibil Platillo. It was also very decent. I ordered it with some masa tortillas. I also noticed they gave a free bag of conchas. I dipped the concha into the Hot drink and ate it. So calming and delicious during the cold morning. Delicious everything.

I've lived in the area my whole life and I've never been here. What a surprise!!! These restaurants are the best. A hole in the wall with amazing food. The restaurant is small located right on the corner of Hoover and 18th st. Street parking is available. I had no issues with that. There are a couple of tables set up outside. This restaurant is also a bakery. It looks like they have a great selection of bread available. They also have QR code posted for convenient ordering. I ordered the Two taco and Tamale Combo. The tacos were Cochinita Pibil. The Cochinita Pibil was very tender, juicy and flavorful. The lady working offered extra habanero sauce. That just amplified the flavor. The perfect amount of spice. The tamale I picked was very similar to the Central American tamales. I personally loved it. Will be coming back.

    no one ate it

terrible . its been a long time i've had rosca so i decided to pick one up here and when cutting it up and eating , the family literally thought the same thing . it tasted terrible and was very doughy . no one in the family ate it and just wasted $25 . very embarrassing

Got a surprise bag on Too Good To Go for $5.99. It was totally worth it! I got a chicken, roasted veggie, salad and rice meal along with a bag of bread. The meal was super flavorful! The bread was a bit dry but dipped in cafezito i know theyll make a great breakfast

I had wanted to try this place for years and finally went. I ordered the trio of taco de cochinita pibil, salbute, panucho to eat there. I got a couple things to go as well, tamales colados, kibis, and mini conchas. Everything was good, my fave were the tamales.

2 Tacos and Tamale Combo - Cochinita Pibil tacos and Colado a.k.a. "Fluffy" Tamale

Very small hole in the wall neighborhood bakery that also has delicious Yucatan/ Mayan style cuisine. I'm not too familiar with the nuances with different regional Mexican food so I apologize in advance if I appear to be blatantly naive. I've only been once but already the cochinita pibil and the colado tamale feel like must haves. I've wanted to come here for some time now and it was on some top tamale list in the area. I was near DTLA and thought it was the perfect time to go. I ended up ordering the two taco and tamale plate. So glad I did! For the tacos, I got the cochinita pibil and for the tamale, I got the colado (or the fluffy) tamale. I also got a hot chocolate or the champurrado even though it was a bit warm outside and in the middle of the day. The cochinita pibil tacos were just so darn juicy! Tender, citrusy pork oozing with flavor. Topped with the colorful onions with a nice little spice kick from the sauce. I squeezed some lemon on them for a bit zesty tartness. So juicy I had to hover over the plate so it wouldn't get everywhere. The colada tamale was something I don't think I knew existed. I had to look it up and noticed the interesting method it is typically made. As the name/description suggests, the tamale was super fluffy and my fork went through it like it was a slice of moist cake, except it was savory and not sweet. After a few bites, I poured the sauce over the top. That sauce was quite spicy. Between this tamale and the tacos, I was in heaven. Seriously the flavors and textures are right up my alley. The champurrado was fine. It was tasty, but couldn't tell if it was homemade. This place is a very tiny spot and I think there is only street parking available. I found a spot less than a block away no problem. Also, the menus inside seemed to be all in Spanish so I was using my high school comprehension in order to read it. There was a gentleman there that spoke perfect English that also helped me walk through the menu and ordering. Seating outside is limited and the place is probably more conducive to take out. I really wanna come back and try the other tamales as well as some of the other menu items.

Stumbled into this hidden gem after a friend wanted to try Yucatecan food. I was excited to see such a varied menu, but this also made it hard for me to choose (which isn't a bad thing). I tried the Cochinita Pibil, Lechón, and Chirmole tacos, which were all unique and equally delicious. The salsas made here are sooo flavorful, and not too spicy for those that don't like too much heat. I also tried a Dtozobichay tamale, and it was to die for; very similar to Central American tamales. The service can be a bit slow, but the food more than makes up for it. Lastly the outdoor seating is great option if you want to try their food on the spot.

The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

They perfectly warmed both body and soul on a chilly LA morning. If I lived nearby, I'd eat these every day! We also tried the yuzu cream pan, which was also pretty epic. The topping was a little crunchy, complementing the soft bread and creamy and smooth tart filling. This is definitely my new favorite Japanese bakery in the US! I just wish I lived a little closer to it.

There were so many options, and everything in the display case looked fresh and tempting. The pastries I tried were really delicious -- soft, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It felt like the kind of bakery where people actually care about quality instead of just making things look pretty. The vibe inside was cozy and relaxed, which made it easy to slow down for a bit and enjoy everything. It's definitely the kind of place I'd come back to whenever I want good pastries and coffee without going somewhere overly trendy or complicated.

They're also very on-trend, whenever a Korean dessert goes viral, they usually have it here. Recently, they even started selling butter tteok, and I heard it was one of the first places to have it in K-town. I highly recommend the salted bread. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. There is free parking, though the lot is a bit small. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the seating area is somewhat limited too

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.

And I know that vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting is pretty easy to make, but sometimes I'd rather just buy baked goods than make them for myself, especially when I'm driving past what I thought was a popular (and presumably good) bake shop. I expected a high-quality cupcake. The cupcakes looked cute, but they were as dry as the Sahara. They should have been labeled as white cupcakes as I didn't detect any vanilla in them. I suspect that the "buttercream" was made with milk and margarine and powdered sugar.....so much powdered sugar. It was sickeningly sweet, and it was dry too. And a true bettercream doesn't even use powdered sugar. So not only were the cupcakes terrible, they were not even what they purported to be. This is like calling a cut of meat a filet mignon and serving a hamburger. Von's, Ralphs and Albertson's make better cupcakes than this for a fraction of othe price.
