This used to be my go-to spot in Downtown Miami when I worked across the street. Now I'm 3 blocks down, but I still crave it often. Yes, the chicken is good (better than Pollo Tropical in my opinion), but the sides and sauces really set this place apart. Also, they offer a variety of seafood, and other Peruvian dishes (jalea, lomo salteado, ceviche, etc...). I still consider it fast food, but this is fast food done right. You can't go wrong with most dishes here, depends on what you are in the mood for. The Lomo Saltado is the best you will have in all of miami. Consistent food no matter the location. Can be a little crazy at times however well worth the wait. A defiance must visit. Grab an Inca kola while your at it. There is free parking with validation in the lot next door (Hertz). read more

I decided to eat dinner at this place as it was close to my hotel. Alejandra - the waitress was super nice and recommended grilled snapper. It was delicious!!!! Super fresh and tasty. If you can calmly sally forth into the crowd that gathers spontaneously in front of the register - or what the hour it takes for downtown food delivery - both are so worth it as the portions served up are both delicious and copious. I've had the rice with mariscos (seafood that translates into mussels, shrimp and pieces of octopus and calamari) and I assure you - it's able to serve as 2 meals at least! The restaurant also provides a nice choice of condiments (from some latinized mayonnaise to the usual retinue of hot sauces) to perk up whatever you choose for your culinary selection. Usually I love la granja. Good chicken and some other good Peruvian dishes but this La Granja is like an oven. I've been there twice in the last 6 weeks and each time they say the air conditioning is not working. So it's like an inferno. We stayed at the Hyatt in downtown the night before our honeymoon cruise. We arrived late and weren't really sure where to go but found this place in easy walking distance on Yelp. I had a seafood and fried rice dish and my husband had chicken and white rice. While everything was great we were both amazed at how delicious the fried rice was. In fact it was one of the best meals we had on our trip. The portions were also very generous, easily a dinner and lunch the next day, and the service was friendly. I have been to other la granja and they were way better. This location has good service but the food has zero flavor. I ordered the Jalea and the little seafood bits were overcooked. Also the dish came without any shrimp. When I told the waitress she didn't really believe me that they were missing. She ended up bringing three shrimp after saying the chef said he put them in the dish. Normally love other locations but this one not the best. Clean yes but missing flavor. read more

My friend from up north calls La Granja "The Boston Market version of Pollo Tropical." La Granja's chicken was moist, succulent, and delectable compared to Pollo's dry, tough, overcooked chicken. They sell ceviche and Chicha, so apparently this is a Peruvian chicken joint. read more

Food is amazing but the service is really bad. I called in an order, was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived, paid for my food and 20 minutes later nothing. I go to the counter and ask about my order and it was on the bottom shelf out of sight and had been there the entire time I was waiting. Found La Granja by accident and almost didn't go in because it looked like a version of Pollo Tropical. I am very glad that we did because the food was delicious, the portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. My daughter had the fish while I had the pork; both were tasty and cooked perfectly. The waitress was friendly, the food served on real plates instead of plastic. The food was served hot and quickly. Chicken was moist. Server was very nice. I was able to substitute to have more bananas instead of beans for the special menu. You have more variety than before. I've never experienced such crappy service. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, mind you we had to ask three times. I always get la Granja by 163rd in north Miami. Usually get #2, all dark, no beens. I came to this one and asked for the same thing. At the other one they add some more plantains because I'm not getting the beens. At this one they gave me 2 of the smallest size plantains they had. And also got the breast instead!! Very good! Stayed across the street at the courtyard Marriott and ate here 4 times in 3 days... so that should tell you how great the food is. By far the best Granja in ALL Miami!!! I've been to a few others and not sure why this one is just my favorite. The chicken is so juicy, tender, and fresh. During lunch the lines are crazy and it gets so packed you can't even walk in there. That's how amazing and fresh you know the food is. Can't beat the deal, I usually get the whole chicken white meat with vegetables and salad for less then $20. My husband and I eat dinner and lunch for next day. Super amazing. The service use to be amazing, we are a regular here and would always be serviced by a Venezuelan lady but about a few months ago she no longer works there. The service is not bad now but she was just amazing always going beyond her duties to make us happy. read more

In Miami for one night. Wanted a good, local (non-chain) meal, and had never tried Peruvian food before. The perfect storm. Very friendly and helpful service, awesomely tasty food, great value for the money. I had the steak/shrimp/scallop dish with the best-prepared black beans ever. My companion had a chicken dish and enjoyed it very much. Beer and wine (my companion recommends the Sangria) in a casual, unpretentious atmosphere. Free parking for customers (which one wouldn't know until after being seated and reading it on the menu.) Definitely check this place out! read more

Very tired & hungry after a cruise and couldn't check in to the hotel yet. Walked across the street to La Granja. Had the spicy Bbq chicken salad. It was excellent!! More food than I could possibly eat. All ingredients were very fresh. Service was great! Only downfall? At noonish business picked up and it became a bit noisy. La Granja was across from our hotel which was super convenient. We walked over there and ordered some food that was pretty good. They have the typical range of Peruvian dishes from fish stew to sauté of steak and yellow pepper potatoes to fried rices. If you're looking for great service, gourmet level Peruvian don't come here.
