Restaurant sooo I decided to order a couple from here, La Guanaquita. The size of them were definitely not the best, both pupusas fit into a small to go container and then come to find out when cutting into it that it has onion, tomato and peppers and sadly I didn't even taste or see any shrimp it was mostly masa (tortilla). Asked for pupusas de chicharron con queso and got only chicharron. Pupusas were dry and burnt. Tamales had more masa than meat and the meat had the fatty parts, very minimal edible meat. Ordered bigger platters of fish, meat, chicken, and chorizo. Protein quality is okay. Good. Empanadas de plátano de leche and frijoles were dry/overcooked/or not fresh. Beans tasted burnt. The yuca was the best part along with the salpores de arroz we got. It was busy so it seems it is what residents in the area like. Service was great. They were courteous and helpful. Hands down My favorite pupusa place! they take so long to make your order but you're insured a freshly made meal each time. The food is usually good but the last two times the service has been not so great . A couple months back we went and ordered a revuelta. It tasted sour like if the meat had gone bad. We asked an employee if they could remake it and she just kept arguing with us that thats how it's suppose to taste like. We went back a couple weeks ago, it was an hour before closing . I think they gave us whatever pupusas they already had made . 4/6 of the pupusas we got were wrong. The pupusas are amazing with such flavorful toppings my only complaint are the tamales de elote. My favorite kind! Sometimes they're nice and so delicious but sometimes I have to drown them in crema to be able to call them edible! It's like a surprise you'll never expect which tamale is actually good I've also had my experience of getting home and being ready to eat and relax but the tamales have a red tint to them! The food is amazing, so the food gets 5 stars But my issue today was the owner. In my years in the food business if a customer talked to the manager ( in this case the owner) their the ones who must take the initiative and talk to or correct their customer. Not blame us ( parents ) now if my son did something I would 100% take full responsibility and correct my son. But this wasn't the case, my son walked into the bathroom, in which was in clear view of our seats, when a full grown man just walked into the bathroom, closed the door. At this time I told my husband to go check on our son. The man walked out and my husband went inside to check on my son, my son then told him that the man asked him if he spoke Spanish. When I asked to speak to a manager or owner She came from the back, I told her what happened and to please let them know that's not acceptable to just walk into a already use bathroom, she then proceeded to tell me "As a parent it's your job to say something and to keep children safe, I can't say anything to my patrons" and proceed to walk away I kept my composure and walked away because I was ready to throw a chair as this grown man Now if I'm wrong, and expecting management to do something then ill understand. read more

Tried to buy some pupusas today since I've been craving them for a while and I've bought from here before , but today their location was super packed and I walked up to the counter and tried to order and one of the employees told me to wait to talk to someone else. Okay cool maybe she was busy and running around because they were busy ok no problem. Another employee comes to the register cursing and pissed off slamming stuff rambling about another order. I just kind of smiled and waited for another person to come. Another girl comes and tells me with an attitude that it's going to be a 45 min wait to an hour because they're extremely busy they have to make their indoor orders and on top of that walk in orders. I just smiled and said nvm and walked out lol it's like they were mad they were busy but it's not the customers fault! What I will definitely complain about was our waitress. Short chubbier girl with brown hair, took FOREVER to get us started with drinks and didn't check in on us our WHOLE visit.
