    Tacos al vapor
    Bridgette G.

Stopped by yesterday since I was craving tacos al vapor. I chose them from several local spots based on their pics and reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn't the greatest. I ordered 2 labio, 2 cachete, and 2 cabeza tacos. The meat flavor was mediocre and too chewy. The salsas were very flavorful, and that spicey yellow (hence the two stars) one was on point. But the tortillas was what spoiled the experience. Tacos al vapor mean the tortillas are steamed and are usually very soft, but not falling apart. Well, these tortillas were hard and definitely not al vapor. Lastly, the customer service was non existent. Not a hi, you're welcome, nor bye following my greetings. Guess who is never stopping by for mediocre tacos again.

The 4 tacos 2 lengua and 2 asada

Well I gotta say for living in the area for over 5 yrs and always hesitating to stop. I finally did. I don't regret it. When I got there I parked in the back. You prob shouldn't doesn't seem like a designated parking. Anywho I went it there was 2 young ladies eating, a lady waiting for her tacos. And me About to order. I kept it simple and got my 2 top go to meats asada and lengua (tongue). I did 2 and 2 plus I got a can of coke. Total was 8.99 Ehhhh price not bad Funny 2 tacos were 1.22 2 were 2.30 and The coke was 1.11 Weird pricing huh lol Other places charge the same for all meats I guess this place doesn't. Didn't even bother to ask which was which. So when you order to go they put your tacos in a plate (Like the pic I provided) wrapped in aluminum and a baggie with your radish lime cucumbers and salt. And some salsa. They only gave me one wedge of lime so if you need more ask for it. They have green and red I only tried the green one. It was interesting and diff. But good. I was surprised the tacos were good. The tortillas do taste steamed which is a totally diff taste. I enjoyed both meats. Debating if I would go there again. I gotta take my picky eater. And we'll get back to y'all. Ta ta

Best tacos hands down in Long Beach. This spot keeps it simple. Steamed tacos done right! Must try all meats

Tacos de cachete y de labio, que rico!
    Wonderful S.

This place is so close to home and I don't know if they're new or if I've just been passing by them. But my husband and I drove by and saw Tacos al Vapor (steamed tacos) and thought "hmmm sounds good", so we gave it a try and we're very glad we did!! These are Very delicious tacos, GREAT price, Awesome Horchata and Jamaica (Aguas frescas), mmmm so good!! I went back with my son on Saturday for Menudo and their Menudo is very 'clean' and delicious, fresh, they even make hand made corn tortillas to go with your Menudo, sooo yummy. I would advise on adding that red salsa to the Menudo, it brings out the Menudo flavour, then add the limes and salt and other seasonings. I'm definitely coming back! As long as the service is good and the food stays this great. Oh, by the way, they do not hold out on the tacos either, they really add a lot of love to them ;-D. so Enjoy!!

They're known for their handmade flour tortillas that have an amazing bite to them. They were just awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand award this week for their excellent, affordable food. One thing that I appreciate about their tacos is that their meats have varied textures. The costilla (rib meat) is a crowd pleaser as you get the taste of the grill/charcoal. They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. This is easily one of the best options for tacos in Long Beach and, if you haven't had it yet, then you really should! This is the type of place that we need to support!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

My go to is the sampler to get a little of everything. The cochinita pibil is one of my all time favorites and the mole poblano. Absolutely delicious!! The service here is good. We didn't necessarily have a great experience though. They messed up our order and we never got it fixed. We just happened to be there when there was a big party there too and it seemed like staff was a bit flustered. I told the workers about our order and they just forgot. We waited for over 15 min and when I went up to ask again, they realized they had forgotten about us and hadn't made our correct order so we decided to leave it and just go. Regardless of that hiccup, the staff were very friendly and they were apologetic about the situation. I would come back for sure and give it another try. The Boyle heights location has always been on top of it and I've never experienced a bad visit so I wouldn't say this location is bad off of one visit. The space is small and has inside and outside seating. We tried to eat outside but that bigger party took up a lot of the seats out there. They have a beautiful mural inside too and we luckily got a table. Overall, guisados is a must and I'm happy there's a location closer to me now.
