Stopped by yesterday since I was craving tacos al vapor. I chose them from several local spots based on their pics and reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn't the greatest. I ordered 2 labio, 2 cachete, and 2 cabeza tacos. The meat flavor was mediocre and too chewy. The salsas were very flavorful, and that spicey yellow (hence the two stars) one was on point. But the tortillas was what spoiled the experience. Tacos al vapor mean the tortillas are steamed and are usually very soft, but not falling apart. Well, these tortillas were hard and definitely not al vapor. Lastly, the customer service was non existent. Not a hi, you're welcome, nor bye following my greetings. Not only the food is disgusting but the service is also very poor, the owner and the cashier are very rude and lack customer service when it comes to taking care of the customer. The customer is always right and they refuse to fix my order and began to gave me attitude when i ask them to fix it, all the owner told me was "we already made the food, you either eat it or you don't" and when i asked for a refund he just said "the food was already made and he cannot give me a refund" this place lacks the decency to accept that they were wrong on there part and continued to argue with me when i told them that's not what i ordered and he began shoving me out the store to get out. I discovered this place through Postmates. I've ordered twice from here now. I enjoy the carne asada from here. I haven't tried their other meats. Tacos are delicious and their salsas are amazing. They have a really hot one for those lovers of heat. I myself, enjoy the milder green salsa they have. I drown my tacos in it. I also really like that they give you limes with cucumbers and radishes on the side. I also tried the cheese flan the last time I ordered and it was really yummy. I'm not usually a fan of flan but their cheese flan had more of the cheese flavor so I think that's why it was so enjoyable for me. read more

I love menudo and I'm one to go on the hunt to find menudo and I was so disappointed , it was so bland and flavorless , and condiments are so limited they definitely cheap out with the portions , more broth than anything and they cut there menudo in to tiny pieces. Well I gotta say for living in the area for over 5 yrs and always hesitating to stop. I finally did. I don't regret it. When I got there I parked in the back. You prob shouldn't doesn't seem like a designated parking. Anywho I went it there was 2 young ladies eating, a lady waiting for her tacos. And me About to order. I kept it simple and got my 2 top go to meats asada and lengua (tongue). I did 2 and 2 plus I got a can of coke. Total was 8.99 Ehhhh price not bad Funny 2 tacos were 1.22 2 were 2.30 and The coke was 1.11 Weird pricing huh lol Other places charge the same for all meats I guess this place doesn't. Didn't even bother to ask which was which. So when you order to go they put your tacos in a plate (Like the pic I provided) wrapped in aluminum and a baggie with your radish lime cucumbers and salt. And some salsa. They only gave me one wedge of lime so if you need more ask for it. They have green and red I only tried the green one. It was interesting and diff. But good. I was surprised the tacos were good. The tortillas do taste steamed which is a totally diff taste. I enjoyed both meats. Debating if I would go there again. I gotta take my picky eater. This very simple taco shop was exactly what I needed on short notice. I bought 5 carne asada tacos at about 1.33 each. Apparently all the tacos are vapor steamed, which gives them a very specific flavor. My boyfriend, who usually is not picky, wasn't the biggest fav of the vapor steamed taste, but I didn't think it was anything too out of the ordinary. I have no complaints and I definitely would be back because of how close it is to my house. read more

This place is so close to home and I don't know if they're new or if I've just been passing by them. But my husband and I drove by and saw Tacos al Vapor (steamed tacos) and thought "hmmm sounds good", so we gave it a try and we're very glad we did!! These are Very delicious tacos, GREAT price, Awesome Horchata and Jamaica (Aguas frescas), mmmm so good!! I went back with my son on Saturday for Menudo and their Menudo is very 'clean' and delicious, fresh, they even make hand made corn tortillas to go with your Menudo, sooo yummy. I would advise on adding that red salsa to the Menudo, it brings out the Menudo flavour, then add the limes and salt and other seasonings. I'm definitely coming back! I love their menudo!! It comes with 3 freshly made tortillas, onion, oregano, a red tomatillo spicy salsa and chili powder in their To go order. I wish I didn't have to wait until the weekend to order it lol. However they now have it Friday-Sunday so it helps. I came here with my boyfriend to eat tacos one night. The cashier was rude and had an attitude with me right off the back. When we sat down, she started making comments to another woman in the kitchen about how she hated skinny women. That all we do is watch our weight and we starve ourselves. We got our order and it wasn't very good. We've had way better tacos from a taco truck. I have a serious medical condition with my thyroid that keeps me from gaining weight which I have to take medicine for, for the rest of my life. I've always been criticized because of it and felt insecure. My boyfriend felt horrible he had taken us on a taco date to this place and we have never stepped foot in this place since. The menudo is the best! Beats casa perez in a heartbeat. Delicious! Loved all the tacos! Except the carne asada it didn't taste or smell fresh. I can almost bet it was a couple days old. All the other tacos were delicious. My favorite "de cabeza". They could use better salsa bar though. Salsa makes a taco that much better. Only menudo I will ever get , been going for years here and I'm always satisfied the meat broth is so clean not greasy like most places that sell menudo. They come with homemade tortillas and also the meat are bite size pieces which is great makes it easy to eat your menudo that having biggo pieces. So I been looking for a good taco place in North Long Beach. Honestly there is none that I have actually loved or felt like going back. I have tried a couple of food trucks too. So today I was craving tacos and typed tacos on saw they had some good rating so I figured I would stop by. I found street parking right in front however, when I got in I noticed it was CASH only. I didn't have cash so I went to grab some since I didn't notice an ATM Inside. When I came back I read the menu and noticed they have a small selection so I stuck with Carne Asada (I'm not that spontaneous for the other options). I ordered to go but I did notice the place was really clean which is always a good thing. I finally came home and ate my tacos. They where delicious!!! I will be coming again. I also ordered an agua de jamaica. The cashier was friendly and my order was ready fast.
