The micheladas are very good here. In the evening it is loud so conversation is unlikely. The waitresses seem nice. However, they don't speak English, so communication could be difficult if you don't speak Spanish. Even though I ordered food and drinks in Spanish, she still did not fulfill the orders correctly, and I had to ask her to correct one of the orders. I didn't bother to correct her on the other orders because I didn't want her getting upset with me. What can I say? This place has been a staple since being introduced by my cousin a few years ago. As a small business owner who is looking for a great time and budget friendly experience, this place is awesome to host our team meetings here. Yes, there is a language barrier for the most part. However, it has become less of an issue nowadays, ever since Stephanie was hired. She has been accommodating for us when we need a bit of quiet to discuss matters. She is always helpful when any of us are looking for a food/drink suggestion, and her pleasant/cheery disposition goes a long way in providing service that goes above and beyond any of our expectations. I really hope the restaurant understands how vital she is and takes care of her. We're happy to now call her a friend and specifically request her when we have our meetings, as she has now even offered up advice and help when we ask her. As for food, while the meat choices are limited, the selection they do have is quality. I tend to stick to the Al Pastor tacos with homemade tortilla or the various shrimp plates. I hear the wet burritos and chilli relleno is epic as well. If you like traditional Latino bars, can't go wrong with the bar on the other side of the restaurant, great music and drink selections available. read more

Don't go here it's too expensive, they charged me $500 just to get a table, I used their ATM to get $600 out but there was an additional $103 charge from the atm. I noticed this charge only the next day, so when I get my table, I thought it was bottle included but no, they charged me another $480 for a grey goose bottle. I spent $1000 on one night just for ONE bottle. I wouldn't recommend this place it's sketchy and take advantage of intoxicated people. read more

About 6 of us showed up here on a Saturday night around 7:30pm.. the flashing sign is pretty much what lured us in, as we drove past this spot a few times that day. It looked packed actually and as we parked we saw a huge group walk in before us... for sure we thought we'd have to stand around and wait for seating. To our surprise when we walked in there was plenty of seating available as the place was much bigger on the inside than it looked on the outside. We were seated pretty quickly. Standard and basic chips and salsa, but still ok. I ordered the horchata because I read in another review that it was the best. The horchata actually was very good... little thicker than I like, but I would definitely order it again. Took a while to order our food though... but eventually we did and when it came out it was hot. I ordered the chicken mole and it came with rice. It was pretty good, little to much chili powder for my liking. My friend ordered the shrimp a la diabla and was expecting more of a sautéed shrimp with light sauce, but the shrimp were actually smothered in a cream based sauce which was pretty tasty actually. The ambiance is very casual. The music was BLARING. Definitely a fan of music, but this was so loud it was ridiculous. First impression is a lasting impression. Wednesday afternoon, about 1PM/1300 hours. After a smoke out at the cigar shop down the street, my buddy Yelper- Jose V scanned through Yelp finding a place for us to eat and we all ended up here. Parking was difficult for some with trucks, they were unable to park close to the restaurant. La Hacienda is located in an old industrial area in San Jose. Parking in the area is limited and I think that employees of the surrounding shops park here and walk to their work. As we walked in, the hostess/waitress told us to find a place to sit and that she would see us in a moment. We all walked by and noticed several tables with empty glasses, a beer bottle here and there. We found a clean table that could accommodate the 6 of us. You see above that I put the time and day of the week.. This place was empty!! Once seated, the hostess was also our waitress and quickly tended to us. She was courteous and answered all of our questions about the items on the menu, since none of us had ever been here to eat. After eating several bowls of chips, I finally tried the hot sauces on the table instead of ruining my meal. The salsa that came with the chips was very sweet and tasted like marinara sauce. The chips were freshly fried and very tasty! As we were ordering, they didn't have the items that we wanted and several of us had to choose something else. I wanted a Chili Verde burrito, they didn't have it, but the had green sauce and they were also out of other meats as well as beverages. This didn't sit well with us. It was odd.. The presentation of the Mojado Burrito that were ordered was very nice! The burrito center, covered in green sauce, even the Carne Asada and my Al Pastor was covered with green sauce..Different? Decorated with chips. A nice touch!! My burrito was good. I never had or seen an Al Pastor or Carne Asada burrito covered with green sauce, but red sauce yes! The Al Pastor meat was ok, it had some crispy bits, but the burrito could of have had less rice. One of the fellas had green chicken enchiladas. He stated that he would have it again as he clean his plate. Another guy had a Carne Asada. I thought it was ground beef at first. I notice that it was chopped into small pieces. He stated that it was bland. Once we were all fat, we noticed the dirty tables still with items from the previous patron. This shows laziness! A few people came in & out picking up items but this place wasn't busy!! All in all, our meals were good, but I think I'll keep driving and get tacos at the liquor store down the street. read more

This Is the 5th time I'm in this place in 3 weeks. I found it by accident while driving by and so far every one of my friends that have been here raves about it. If you don't mind the Mexican music playing a little loud seat and eat there other ways you can order to go. Their food is Fresh and Delicious. I specifically recommend the Molcajete de Mariscos. The staff is very friendly and helpful in choosing what to order off the menu. I sampled the Chile Colorado and it was perfectly on point. The chile sauce was out of this world. The flavor and complexity of the sauce was unlike any other. If you are in the mood for Breakfast, this is your new spot! The Huevos Rancheros are delicate and tasty and have just the right amount of pick me up! My dad brought me to this spot to try the seafood Molcajete that he'd been raving about for the longest. And it did not disappoint! It's served in a hot molcajete, that keeps everything hot til the last bite. The sauce was thick and just spicy enough to enjoy. I was looking through the menu pictures, and everything looked amazing. Very authentic Mexican seafood. We also had a "sangria preparada", basically a sangria with lime and tajin..... really good. The molcajete was a bit pricey... $26 but it was worth it. And did I mention they serve it with fresh handmade tortillas?! It's very hard to find great Mexican seafood spots nowadays. This place isn't your typical Mexican restaurant/bar. They are really good! We got 2 super micheladas, a shrimp appetizer(could have been our meal) super tacos and green enchiladas. It seems pretty good so far but I will say the prices are kind of high. We paid almost $85 for 2 plates, an appetizer and the beers. Not sure we will be back as much as we want to but it's worth it for a special occasion not for a casual dinner. I would still recommend it, even with higher prices because the food came out hot, cooked and fast. Granted we came on a Wednesday night so it wasn't too busy. Only one side of the restaurant was actually being used. This seems like the place where you come after a long day of work because there were alot of different guys with their construction uniforms on. The servers were nice, spoke mainly Spanish. I came here for the 4x4 michelada it was huge and delicious! I was pretty buzzed by the end of the meal though lol. We also ordered the fried fish which was a bit too fried, I'm used having these and meat kinda being easier to pull off and this one was a bit tough but still ate it haha. We also ordered the shrimp Roka! They were the best a but spicy so heads up! They are fired shrimp with an orange creamy sauce those were my favorite. We had 5 platters the huge Michelada and another drink which came out to 213.00 dollars it was good though. They had a power outage the day before which is what the server said and their AC was not working which was super hot in there.
