Carne asada super burrito. Paper straw for size comparison.'

Not quite worth the money. $15 for a super burrito that was dry and more rice than meat. Large tortilla that was barely filled. Service was ok- nobody overly kind, very direct and not friendly. Restaurant was ok and clean. Empty when I went. Street Parking.

    Small Expensive Take Out Orders.

I ordered a veggie enchilada and a cheese quesadilla. Both portions were extremely SMALL with minimum fillings... especially for the price! Glad I had more food at home to make my dinner complete. FYI, there isn't a "to go" menu available. Staff are friendly and there isn't any atmosphere to describe, except perhaps basic.

Ordered a burrito at La Hacienda and thought they gave me a taco by mistake. Tasty little guy--but I needed three more to call it dinner. SUPER TINY BURRITO

I have always been cheerfully welcomed when I come here. I eat here with friends and family. As we were traveling through the south western US, I remembered comparing the food to this La Hacienda and we always thought La Hacienda's food was better. We commented how lucky we were. We still feel that way. Its on the frontage road between Merrydale and the 101. Get off at the North San Pedro exit coming from the north, turn right, go past McDonald's and keep going. Merrydale Road comes to a dead ends, so take the last right. You'll see it on your left.

We came in towards the end of the night so the place was nearly empty but a couple tables. However, service was great. Super friendly staff and the food itself was tasty. We got the plater, which BTW should be eaten by two, and we also got a taco de lengua. The meat of this taco was soft, right among of ingredients and the meat was seasoned just right. I liked the fact there are Tvs, means you can enjoy watching your favorite soccer game live. Price I felt it was fair for being in Marin, and the amount of food you get it's worth it. *they also seem to have a covered patio. Try this place out for your next event!

    Vegetarian mas macho grande burrito
    Mark K.

Just a quick bite for dinner turned into a challenge of the will and body! Ordered a couple of mas macho grande burritos for take out, and a Jamaica drink. One was carne asada, the other vegetarian (not the veggie one!). Both were very heavy and just overflowing on the outside with sauce, salsa and sour cream. The inside was even more diverse in ingredients ... One was finished in one seating, the other will be for lunch tomorrow - just too much! But very good ....

I had a straw to drink from so I fortunately did not drink from the rim... it wasn't just one lipstick... it was almost on the entire rim. My stomach felt sick immediately after finding out it's not mine.. we brought it up to whoever was coming towards our table. No apology , no accountability. He just looked at me and said "ok, I'll bring you another one" ... our server was an older guy with glasses... he wasn't friendly at all. He came , took the offer and left. Even after bringing me the new soda, still no accountability...we were not looking into any discount if that's what they were thinking. Then there's the mussels..The bottom pile of my mussels , I ate one that tasted like it's been sitting out .. had a terrible bad taste. And a few of them still had seaweed on them meaning they were not properly cleaned.. With that said, I would NOT come back nor recommend it. Waste of $130 .

I was served quite an amazing bowl of pho today…read more I wanted to try the pho at Golden Era for a while now, but never made it there until today due to various reasons. Since I had to get my watch fixed across the street from the restaurant at Gold Rush Jewelry today, I had decided to do my foodie thing and see if I have been missing out. My review here is strictly related to the pho that I had today. As long as the restaurant location was clean (and it certainly was), the food makes no difference to me whether I was served at the restaurant or the WH with the whole place painted in gold. Also I do make my own pho broth (aka liquid gold) at home, so I am all about searching for a different impressive interpretation. Back to the food, I took a picture of my bowl of pho as soon as it was served at my table, and I immediately tasted the soup before anything else was added to it. The soup was perfectly balanced both spices and seasoning wise and the temperature was just right. Then I added basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lemon juice to my pho, as nothing else was needed to alter or masking the original taste of the slowly simmered broth. There was no need to insult the broth (or the broth chef) by adding hoisin sauce and fake stuff to it. I truly enjoy the style of the beef served. The beef pieces are very tender, not like the rare beef slices that most Vietnamese restaurants offer. Also I cannot say enough good things about the ribs that came with my pho order. Overall it was a very satisfying bowl of pho to me. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there with their own interpretations of pho broth in terms if the use if spices, seasonings, and bone to water ratios in make the all day all night long slow simmering broth. Also, northern style and southern style pho are quite different from each other by taste and composition. There is nothing wrong with most of these other Vietnamese restaurants and their own interpretations , however I found the pho that I had today at Golden Era very agreeable with what I am looking for in terms of "balance". Some spices might smell great if a lot of it is used, but could create a noticeable unpleasant taste and even an irritation reaction to the throat. This is why I believe Golden Era is a winner with the pho game. I have a photo of a fully finished bowl to proof it. I will definitely return to Golden Era again. Will see if their quality control is consistent enough to build a regular customer base. Other factors to consider: they do have a clean and tidy looking kitchen, but from the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen is about 30 plus steps; the restaurant was operated by a grandma and grandpa only when I was there at 11:30 am, they were very nice and doing the best that they could... please be kind to these folks.

It was busy and lively (but not overly busy), and we enjoyed sitting outside on the large patio. In general, everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the poke plate, my boyfriend ordered the two piece fish and chips, and we shared a half dozen oysters. The oysters tasted great (I thought they were briney and complemented well with hot sauce) but were small and probably not worth $4 per. I loved the flavor of the poke and the plate was a generous serving size. My boyfriend liked the crispiness and freshness of the fish and chips, but said there wasn't anything particularly special or standout. Our friends ordered various versions of the tacos and liked them, but they looked difficult to eat (small taco tortillas with heaping toppings!). There isn't much to mention for service since this restaurant does a line order, but it was interesting that waiters consistently tried to drop off the wrong food to our table. Otherwise, our actual food came out relatively quickly despite the lunch rush. We loved the addition of mint for the wraps, but I personally don't care for perilla leaves. The fish sauce accompanying the wraps was delicious and was also great over the pad thai, which was a bit on the bland side without it. Service was a bit less than perfect. When one diner asked for water, only her glass was refilled when another glass was obviously in need also; minor overlook, though. The one thing that was a bit disturbing was the noise level. It was extremely loud, so it was really difficult to hear each other talk. It didn't help that the party at the next table had a woman who cackled loudly when she laughed. It was a relief to step outside after we ate. Not sure what can be done to help with this, but it did make dining there not as pleasant as it could be.
