As a matcha lover, I had to order the Matcha Squared Latte! It was mildly sweetened, but I could still taste the matcha. 8.5/10 Heard great things about the turkey and gruyere croissant, so I ordered it. The croissant itself was very flaky and the turkey and gruyere provided a nice, savory taste. However, I wouldn't say it was anything extraordinary--especially given the price point. 7/10 What stood out to me was definitely the yellow decor! Loved the interior of the cafe, though there was no seating (tables and chairs are outside). I've had better matcha and croissants elsewhere, but the packaging at La La Land earned it some points for sure! Service was excellent, workers were very nice.
I actually really liked the drink I got from La La land! I got the banana cloud latte as a coffee (espresso with oat milk) and asked for only 1 pump of sweetener instead of the usual 2 pumps of sweetener! I had heard that their drinks are super sweet and that their matcha isn't that good but was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my half sweet coffee! The banana flavor literally tasted like a FRESH banana and I feel like I've never had a drink taste so much like a banana fresh off the vine as this one!! (And that's saying something because I am a BANANA FIEND and love all things banana!) it was still a sweet coffee but not overbearingly so and I could definitely see how it would be too sweet with 2 pumps of sweetener and that's coming from someone that actually likes their drinks on the sweeter side. Service was just ok, the setup was a little weird since they had 2 people outside of the front doors of the cafe taking orders on little card machines and they didn't have any menus/QR codes for menus for people to reference while in line or even while ordering so everyone just had to look up the menu themselves online or just ask the people taking orders for what to get once they got to the front since they didn't realize before hand that there was literally no menu in sight to reference while ordering. This could easily be solved by little stands with the menu on them along the line and/or laminated menus for the people taking orders to hold for people to reference. The workers were all nice though and definitely trooper's for working standing outside in the heat. It took maybe 15 min or so for my coffee to be ready on a Thursday afternoon. Another thing that could be improved is that they only yell names out once orders are ready but you can really only hear them if you're within 5 maybe 10ft of the pickup area. It would be nice if they had a text system where they text you when your order is ready so you could shop around or sit at some of the farther tables in front of the cafe and still know when your order is ready. Overall ambiance is super cute! Very clean and bright aesthetic with the yellow and white color scheme. I wish I got to see more of the interior but they were taking orders outside so I only got to see the interior through the glass doors! I would definitely come back for this gem of a banana latte!
Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen could not resist! The line out the door made me curiouser and curiouser! So, of course, we entered. Loved the French toast latte, banana latte, and "The Perfect" latte. The flavors were great! Glad we stopped and entered the fray. The long line went really fast. Worth it. The end
Ordered 2 drinks, they were good though the cup was tiny. They were super busy but my drinks came out within 15 mins. The staff was friendly & answered my questions about the drinks & pins they had on display. I bought the be kind pin to wear on my work lanyard. There is seating outdoors with palm trees around for shade.
Very hyped in CA!! Drinks are good enough for me to want to come back though. Strawberry cloud matcha latte (7.5/10): I think quality is inconsistent between states? My drink was creamier in Dallas but the one I got today was still good! The strawberry cold foam tastes like they use fresh strawberries & the matcha color is a deep green color. Service was also great here -- everyone was super friendly!
finally getting to visit the new la la land that opened at the spectrum! la la land is near UO, i was expecting a small line, but it took forever to order and pick up my order. a total of 40mins on a sunday morning , before 11am service was okay hopefully they work out their logistics , bc a 40m wait for coffee is not okay .. seating is avail outside, merch is avail for purchase , not seen on the floor like other stores i ordered the PSG latte, which was really good! def tasted the espresso , it came with a mini croissant, but my croissant rolled off and hit the floor .. parking: no issues with parking.
First time going to La La Land! I asked the barista if I should get the Banana Cloud Latte or Einspanner, and she recommended the Banana Cloud because it comes in different sizes (the einspanner only comes as a small). The ambiance of the place was quite nice. The seating is outdoors and limited, so it's not ideal for studying, but nice as a stop for a drink for shopping. As for the Banana Cloud Latte, it's interesting that you can choose either espresso or matcha. There's also some options for chai if that interests you as well. A medium Banana Cloud Latte with matcha ran me $7.30, normal for Socal specialty drinks. The cloud was delicious. It's definitely a dessert type of flavor. However, I'm removing one star because I felt the quality of the matcha was just okay. It's definitely more of a sweet milk taste than a full-bodied matcha flavor that you'd get at other places. Overall, it was a nice experience with great customer service. Someone comes around and cleans the tables regularly.
La La Land has quickly become one of my favorite coffee spots! Everything we've tried has been amazing, but the Mango Peach Passion Fruit drink is absolutely incredible. It's so refreshing, perfectly fruity, and the ideal drink for a warm day. Every sip is bursting with flavor without being overly sweet. My husband absolutely loved the Banana Cloud Latte--it was smooth, creamy, and had the perfect hint of banana that made it unique and delicious. As for me, I'm always a fan of their Classic Matcha. It's rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with that authentic matcha flavor. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. The drinks are consistently delicious, the atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly. The only downside is that the line can get extremely long at times,
If you walk around the spectrum currently, you'll notice everyone with these distinct yellow cups! I knew I had to try it out as there is a location in LA and people seemed excited to have it out here in OC. Ordering was quick and so was pickup, the area itself is small and crowded, so not ideal if you want some quiet like a typical coffee shop. As it was later in the day, I ordered a refresher. It was okay, lacking flavor and overall uniqueness. Around 6 dollars. The cup is thick plastic, as well as the top and the little drink stopper. It seems like plastic overconsumption, I hope that this packaging changes for the better eventually!
La La Land is located at the Irvine Spectrum. The line was fairly long but moved quickly. I ordered their iced La La Latte and it was creamy and delicious! It was love at first sip because it was different from other coffee shops. La La Land is a small shop with limited seating available outside. The guy who took our order was friendly and got all our orders correct. I definitely plan to come back and visit next time I'm in the area or in Newport Beach for their other location.

The quality of the cups and the materials used are definitely top-tier. However, the quality of the drinks themselves is just so-so. I've tried matcha and coffee from many different places and I'm quite particular about flavor and quality. Compared to the brand's image and the quality of its presentation, I don't feel that the matcha and coffee themselves meet the same standard. The overall experience looks premium, but the taste and drink quality don't quite match that level. read more
New cafe alert in Irvine Spectrum!! I arrived around 1:30pm on a Monday afternoon. There was quite a line! I ended up coming back around 2pm and the line was a bit shorter. I did noticed you can get drinks 50% if you sign up using the app. It took me a while to actually order through the app because when I was trying to search for the Irvine location, the map wasn't really loading. It was also a bit slow, which I get since a lot of people were ordering from the app. The wait time was about 20 minutes so I went to Barnes and Noble. I came back 20 minutes later and received my drink. I like how kind the staff are. They even say "we love you" which is cute. I ordered a small perfect matcha latte with less sweetness. I like my matcha not that sweet, which fulfilled that preference! The only thing about there drinks is they're pretty expensive especially for the small cups. I got mine half off but it was supposed to be around $6.70. I'm curious to try their other drinks! Will come back some time in the future :-) edit: I found out the reason my app wasn't working was because my VPN was on. It works fine without it! read more
Located near Urban outfitters at Irvine Spectrum, I visited on their grand opening day. As expected, there was quite a long wait, but it was understandable given the occasion. I tried "The Queen" Avocado Toast and Truffle Burrata Toast. Unfortunately, both of them were underwhelming. I also ordered a Strawberry Cloud Matcha Latte and Banana Cloud Matcha Latte. Sadly, both drinks were disappointing as it tasted watered down and lacked the rich flavor that I was hoping for. On a positive note, the staff for friendly and welcoming. While there's no indoor seating, there are tables available outside in the front. read more
This place had insane lines when it first opened, and still the lines are very long on weekends. The first thing that stood out was they provide free pastry samples while waiting in line, and a decent portion too not just a tiny bite size. The almond croissant was heavenly. The drinks are also very good, on the pricier side though since the prices shown on the menu are only for a small. The staff are all very friendly, harmoniously shouting "welcome" when you arrive, and "bye, love you!" as you finish checking out. Overall their message is to be nice and spread love. Hours: 7am to 9pm (weekdays)/10pm (weekends). This is so nice because you can get your coffee/matcha before going to work. Located by Gap and Urban Outfitters; Dave and Busters was close too. Went during the soft opening and it was organized and as fast as can be. Staff was nice but music was way too loud.... Hard to just order. Happy to try it out for the first time. Carrot cake (my fave dessert) matcha was a great flavor and spices really came through. $8 for a medium is expensive but it's not too bad. I feel like this cafe might be a victim of overhype. I'm not sure if it was because they had a huge rush when we went, but it was packed, and I think that really affected the drink quality. I ordered the Strawberry Cloud, which is a latte with strawberry cold foam. The idea is definitely there, and the cloud foam itself actually tasted really good, but the coffee missed the mark for me. It lacked flavor and didn't really stand out the way I expected it to. My partner tried the Banana Cloud, and honestly, that one was not good at all. It had this weird metallic taste that made it really hard to enjoy. This is probably the lowest rating I've given a coffee spot, mainly because of the drinks. To me, it didn't really feel like the coffee was the focus. It felt more like the menu was built around matcha and sweeter specialty drinks, while the espresso was kind of an afterthought. Maybe their matcha is better, but the espresso drinks just did not work for me. Overall, I will not be coming back. read more

First time here!! There was a bit of a wait, so I figured I'd try a few different drinks to see if it was worth coming back and I'm glad I did. Colleen was so kind and gave me a rundown of her favorites, which made the experience feel really welcoming. When it was time to order, Angel helped me out and was a sweetheart. She recommended the French toast matcha, and it was definitely tasty; kind of like drinking matcha with cereal milk. I also tried the banana cloud espresso, which was delicious and a must-try in my opinion. Another standout was the Einspanner latte which was perfect for me since it was strong and not overly sweet. Lastly, I had the matcha squared latte. It was good, but I've had better. Overall, the customer service really stood out. I left feeling a little love-bombed haha. read more
Came during the soft opening and waited about 40 minutes to reach the counter. The menu is straightforward and the drink selection is solid, so with the promo they had and the sunk cost fallacy of waiting, I tried a few options. The espresso latte stood out most as it was more pronounced, with a bold flavor and easily the better of the drinks. The matchas were lighter and slightly watered down. The cloud top adds some uniqueness but carries the drink more than the matcha does. Branding is clearly working for them. The cups, yellow heart straws, and overall aesthetic are well-designed. If you see the yellow cups around, you'll immediately know where it's from. It's not the best matcha in town, but it's a welcome addition to the Spectrum. Once the lines ease up, it'll be worth checking out and I imagine the drinks will improve when they aren't churning hundreds of them one after another. read more
I was at the Irvine Spectrum yesterday and saw a sign saying La La Land is now open so I went to check it out. Well, the line was super super long and wrapped around to the other side of their building. It took over an hour and a half to get to the top of the line. We had the matcha squared and it was very good. You can really taste the matcha flavor (sometimes I can't really taste at certain tea places). read more
I'll make this quick (unlike that damn line I waited in) New flash; It's not worth an over hour and half wait. And after the hype settles it's not really worth a 30 minute wait, for me personally. Some of the drinks were pretty good. Nice straws. Yeah. At least the coffee and beverages were half off. In terms of quality and flavor it's no where close to places like Ayer or Airoma. Also, can you believe lalaland isn't originally from LA ? I was flabbergasted to find out they're from Texas. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here! I immediately was enticed by the carrot cake options (which are only available until the end of the month ) but after a quick review of the menu, I became torn between that or the banana cloud! The sweet lady helping direct the lines quickly convinced me to just get both. I mean 2 for the price of 1. It's a steal. (Girl math) I have no regrets whatsoever getting both!!! - The banana cloud definitely lives up to its hype for all of the reasons- it's the perfect balance of a strong cup of coffee, but you really do get the banana and nutty notes in there. A bit caramelly as well. And not overwhelmingly sweet! - The Matcha carrot cake tasted more like a mix of a Matcha latte and chai latte, but I don't hate it. Will definitely come back to get a larger size of the banana cloud the next time I'm here!! Oh and can I just mention everyone here was absolutely lovely? Everyone was all smiles and sooo helpful with my incessant questions. Kade helped me at the checkoutand full on supported me double fisting two drinks- YOU DA BEST!! Tyssssm. Checked out La La Land during their soft opening -- drinks were 50% off, which definitely made it worth stopping by. The menu is fun and the drinks looked great, but still working through some opening kinks. Waited for about an hour. Biggest thing... no cup holder, which made juggling everything a little awkward. I ordered the Strawberry Fields latte ($6.70) via website while nearby for pickup. I walked over when the order was supposed to be ready and there was a huge crowd outside. I walked up to the window as names were called out. I saw my cup and grabbed it. My small strawberry fields latte was indeed small. The branding is great with the yellow caps and cute heart-shaped straw. I shook the latte to mix it up. I tried it and it was okay. I could barely taste the strawberries and the beetroot. The matcha was okay. I did not adjust the sweetness and found it to be barely sweet. I'm not sure the drinks are worth the lines. I found it to be mid, if anything. I've had better matcha lattes in LA. The store is a counter only so there is no inside seating. There is plenty of seating outside, so on a hot day, you can hang out. Newly opened La La land with long lines. The avocado toast was delicious. I got the banana coffee which was so sweet. The tiramisu coffee was overpowering sweet as well. We'd return but definitely ask for less sweet and see if it's good. Couldn't taste the coffee because the sugar overpowered the coffee. read more
I think it's really cute that they say "Love you!" to each other. I know it's a gimmick but it helps create a formerly atmosphere. The line was LONG but it moved quick. The matcha was quite nutty, but it is small for what you pay for. Also it gets watered down easily. I think the matcha einspanner is more of a latte than an einspanner, but it's still good on flavor and aesthetics! It's good to try once but it's really just a bit too overhyped for me. read more

Decided to come on a Friday right before noon. No line to order, pick up took about 10 minutes. So glad i waited for the hype to die down a bit. Store looks inviting, staff were friendly. Still trips me out when they greet everyone saying "i love you". lol Menu was straightforward, i had the queen avo toast added egg (hard boiled). It was ok, citrus was a tad much for me. It def had a kick to it. I still prefer runny sunny side up on my avo toast. For drinks, i got the Keith latte sub almond milk. Matcha was good and presentation with a whole strawberry on top was cute. Hubbs got a chicken sausage cheese sandwich, he said it was fine nothing special. Joked that it probably came from Costco. Hehe.. For drinks he enjoyed the banana cloud latte. I was excited to grab their merch which was the black dad hat. It will be used a lot this summer and our Euro trip this year! read more
Was very excited to try La La Land and the line was a bit busy on a Sunday afternoon. Got a large tiramisu espresso latte which ended up being $8.60. Would recommend downloading the app and making an account so you can get a 50% off coupon. However was told that the coupon can only be applied on a mobile order as I didn't know and wanted to use it for my in person order and turns out the coupon couldn't be applied. The drink itself was good but I recommend mixing in the foam so the drink can taste sweet. Overall, would try the place again as there are other drinks I would want to try but wouldn't want to wait in line. read more

heard so many good things about this place that i had to come check it out, however i have to say it really didn't stand out to me in the way i was expecting- i usually like matcha unsweetened to really get the umami flavor profile of the matcha but unfortunately they weren't able to do unsweetened they require a minimum of one pump of their "secret pump" which i did not want.. for the record, it was a total of one hour wait within the time you place your order and receive your order, which if i would've known that i wouldn't have done all that waiting just for that matcha when it was really mid! i can't imagine waiting that long for a drink like this again i do have to admit that yelling "i love you" upon leaving after ordering is cute but is the only positive thing i can really say. i really believe this place needs a better arrangement on how they manage the drinks being received, they start yelling your name across an entire crowd for hours and people going crazy for this coffee and the staff continuously yelling at people to back up which is very unprofessional and not well ran. i've never seen such thing before. it's a genuine crazy crowd for this coffee/matcha and i can't seem to understand why. read more

I visited La La Land on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively packed. Their line system was messy as I didn't know what was the line to order nor to pick up. The way they also distributed the orders could be improved upon because you aren't really able to hear your name being called out. The theme of the cafe is cute and welcoming. Once you leave the cafe to wait for your order they yell out, " I LOVE YOU!" which I thought was a bit tacky but in a fun way. The cups are well designed and the their straws are even in a shape of a heart! Now my drink itself was good, I got the banana cloud latte with espresso and whole milk. The banana was subtle and personally I like my drinks not too sweet. The drink was a little pricey at $7.60 but thats to be expected considering the area. Overall, there is definitely room for improvement but a nice choice if you like presentation and are at the spectrum. read more
The people working here are very sweet. I love them. The tiramisu cloud latte was pretty good I would get it again but not my favorite. I wanted to try the matcha squared latte but they were out of matcha the day I went. Line moves quickly and getting drinks took about an average amount of time for the amount of people they were serving. I love the vibes and I think their location is perfect as there is a lot of room to stand around while waiting for your drink. On top of the drink I got I also got the tiramisu cupcake which I thought was pretty good and I would get it again. Have been to La La Land twice. The first time was around their opening and they had a promotion that if you downloaded their app and ordered from there you'd get 50% off a drink. I did this and ordered their iced banana cloud latte. I will say the wait was almost an hour which I understood because there was a ton of people and they were running a promotion plus it was their opening. However, I walked around the mall to wait. Second time I wanted to take advantage of their 50% off special and try their different drinks so I scheduled a pick up order and got 1) Kelsey's carrot cake latte, 2) Keith Lee latte, 3) Tiramisu latte, 4) Cloud 9 Matcha latte. All were delicious although I did feel like their coffee drinks were light on the coffee. As someone who makes their own carrot cake I had high expectations for the carrot cake latte and is actually the reason I wanted to try this cafe. However, no taste of carrot at all more cinnamon almost horchata like. Matcha was strong. Tiramisu though was very good and they even topped the drink with a lady finger! Overall, I was pleased with both experiences at the cafe. The workers were pleasant and helpful although I know it must've been stressful with the opening and the amount of people ordering and waiting for their drinks. If you're coming in during the morning or around lunch time I can't imagine there'd be a long line especially during the weekdays. However, if you're ordering during a weekend and especially during evenings I'd recommend ordering ahead to save time. The app was easy to use. The aesthetic is cute for pictures. Kinda pricey drinks ranging around $6-9. I would still recommend it and would go back read more

The worst experience ever for a cup of coffee. I placed a mobile order this morning, and got there by the estimated time (which is 35 min after placing order), but 1 drink was missing and not ready until 30 min past the estimated time. Asked twice if my order is taken care of, a girl who was working there told me "Just wait! everybody's waiting!" in a dismissive tone. Bad customer service. LaLa Latte and Keith Lee Latte were just okay. Not worth the wait. Quite pricey ($30 for 4 drinks). Never coming back until customer service gets improved. read more
I was really excited to finally try La La Land. Overall, it was pretty good! I liked the banana flavor in the matcha, and it wasn't overly sweet. The wait for the order was very long though. I went in the morning and while the ordering line wasn't too bad, the wait for drinks after ordering was much longer. You also had to keep walking up to check if your order was ready. If you're in a hurry, be ready to wait for the drink! read more

The drinks are AMAZING! I went there multiple times and the matcha never fails me. I'm personally not a matcha lover but after drinking that it changed my mind! The service is also amazing the workers are very nice and the wait isn't really that long. read more
Came during soft opening week at the spectrum and it was sure a hype.. long wait and slow service hence this review is for their soft opening.. yes they do have a special for 50% off drinks but is it worth the wait? Not so much.. cute and trendy is pretty much what I sum if as.. got their matcha squared and tasted fairly like a regular matcha latte not a double matcha.. also got their French toast salted latte which is their version of a Spanish latte.. good but nothing extraordinary... its good to try but I wouldn't wait more than 10 for it.. Tried tiramisu latte and Keith Lee matcha and I have to say, this place is kinda overrated. Line was long and price is expensive for it size. Size large for this place feels like a medium or medium and a half compared to other cafés. While the taste is above average, it doesn't stand out compare to other cafés to justify the price of these drinks. Worth it for the photo but not enough to try it again. 3.5/5 read more

La La Land soft opening was unfortunately worth the hype. We got here right when they opened at 7am and there was already a line! Luckily it gave us time to download their app so we could get our half off drinks which was such a good deal. I got the carrot cake latte and my husband got the chai. The coffee was strong and the flavors were spot on, sweet without being artificial. The vibe is also just so friendly! I mean, they say "I love you" as you pick up your drink? Thanks, La La Land, I love you, too! read more
