Mother's Day brunch. Another Broken Egg had an hour wait by 10am. Stopped by Le Madeleine's instead. We ordered chicken Pasta Le Madeleine's and a pesto pasta. No wait to order. Complimentary bread held us for the 20 min wait. All entrees were room temperature. Chicken was shredded and mixed in almost too well. Overall it was the usual here. We gave this place 3 stars for the location, plastic water cups, no wait, free bread, butter and jam and superb breadsticks. I must say we love the breadsticks. I returned here after a month hiatus hoping for some improvement. This place used to be a breakfast favorite but I noticed it was declining. After screwing up my Americano order three times in a row and serving the breakfast before the coffee I decided to take a break. Unfortunately things haven't improved. The staff is rude and discourteous, and is more interested in joking with each other and eating bakery snacks than serving their customers. They screwed up the coffee order again. The counter employee complained about the 6 AM start. The silver lining here is the food. Kudos to the chef, I think he's the only one interested in actually doing his job right. I won't be coming back. In this town there are far too many better options for food. Good food good prices if your looking for a nicer fast meal. They have great sandwiches, Pastas, salads and soups. Typically do lunch here and never leave unsatisfied. That's also have pastries which have personally never had but look great. read more

Whoever does the hiring and manages the Jefferson location is incompetent. Consistent mistakes and confused staff. Orders are wrong. Food is cooked differently every time. It's like no one cares there. You're better off ordering pickup from somewhere else. It's been like this for years. read more

I will never, yes, NEVER go back to this location !! We were there today for breakfast. The service was HORRIBLE! When they brought the food it was thrown down with a half way, "here you go" without even looking at us but instead he was literally ogling the young ladies at the next table! With a sweet, "Is everything ok ladies?" At the table next door. He even left the number on our table and it sat there for the entire time we were there! I sat there for about 30 minutes watching two male employees staring at these two ladies! They were very pretty, but come on guys! Retract your tongues!!!! So when I left, I was getting a couple of desserts to go. There was a man there that I asked if he was one of the managers, to which he answered, "One of them." Without making eye contact again. I asked if he had a card or could give me his email address. He told the girl that his email address wasn't on his card. I just think that a manager worth absolutely anything, would try to find out why I asked. Not here! All I can say is if you own this place, you are going to lose your investment! I only wish I could have given ZERO STARS! This place used to be fantastic but it is horrible now! I will drive 5 miles out of my way to go to the Perkins Rowe location but I will never darken the door of the Jefferson location again!!!! Service says a lot about your establishment. Given that, this should be of top priority in guaranteeing the success of your business. I live very close to this location and it would logically be my a favorite of mine had they not given me lackluster service on more than a few occasions. I have even been tempted to drive to other locations but this area can be rather congested at dinner and lunch so I tend to find somewhere else to eat. I will periodically stop by and my visit will be fine, but they always set themselves back with another problem. read more

Cute little place for something quick and easy. I will never understand why they can't seem to bring out all the food together though. I understand that some food is prepped but you would think they would wait to bring it out with the other food. I tried explaining it to the manager but she didn't get it. Desperate new years eve to find a place open we tried la Madeleine ... Sadly to say it was cheap (cheap in quality not in price ) dull deli food ,cafeteria style .. Disappointing to say the least even in terms of a deli type place so if given the choice you should keep driving and that's difficult for me because I'm not typically hard to please ... Pretty cute and homey atmosphere. Order your food at the counter and they will give you the salads and certain items right away. Sandwiches will be taken to your table. We had the chicken and pesto, my sis said it was ok and would've preferred if it was warm. She loves their tomato basil soup but for my taste buds it could've been sweeter. I had the chicken parisien sandwich and it was wonderful. Warm and perfectly seasoned. Their caeser salad was average tasting. For dessert we had their caramel creme brûlée and that was heaven. This place is honestly hit or miss for me. Sometimes I come in here and everyone working is super on their game. Other times it's hard to get any help, and I've waited on a sandwich to arrive when it seemed like it was just forgotten. The food is mostly always on point. The tomato basil soup is delicious as is their classic Caesar salad. The potato galette is usually good, but sometimes it's a tad burnt. I'm a vegetarian so I haven't tried the majority of the stuff here. But what I've tried has been good. I'll eat here again (as I've been eating here for years) I just know what I'm getting beforehand. read more

This place is...not good. Their fish tasted old and bland. The quiche was bland as well with almost no taste. It's was like eating soft cardboard. Why? Well it's premade food that microwave heated for too long. Probably with a cheap microwave at that. The staff are just as uninspired and uninteresting as the food. They'll greet you with a weak "bonjour" and try to rush you through the line as quick as possible. They managed to get most of the order out at least, which shouldn't be too hard with microwave-heated premade food, but they managed to still mess that up. This place really exemplifies the worst of both gimmicky and cafeteria. read more

My cousin took us to La Madeleine for lunch one day. I passed by it many times while in Maryland, but never stopped to eat there. Why? I don't know, but I will be stopping there from now on. WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE 0/10 DONT GO! Service is horrible and food was not what I asked at all. Servers did not know what they were talking about when it came to prices and food quality to the point I had to show them the menu because they kept arguing with me about it. I ordered the avocado toast and asked for a lot of avocado because I hate when there's not something on my toast. I waited an hour for my toast and they bring out the country breakfast which I didn't order. They finally got my toast and it had a sliver of avocado and I asked if I could have a side of some and they said there's no more, if there was barley any avocado why didn't y'all just say that in the first place. Then I go to get coffee and there out and they I asked them to refill it so she says she's going to then after 30 minutes still waiting for the coffee what we asked her and she says it's coming then with another 10 minutes and the guy is waiting for it to start till asking them yelling at them and dang nor him for a good three times he said it. And then I tried to get some toast from the free section there was none and there was no ice and I got strawberries with no cream that should be good two dollars it's a maybe one dollar it's three strawberries one was rotten and I got no cream I got no cream what you Gotta say about that yeah they charge five dollars for a fruit cup parfait thanks girl I wish I got that I got three strawberries what do you think you're doing but anyway I just think this place needs to know what's going on in there needs to be managers at every restaurant and the cooks need to be trained better in the servers as well. read more

We stopped in to grab food to go and the service was terrible. Everyone we encountered was rude and acted like we were a burden. After a 30 min wait with not a single person dining in the restaurant, we got our food and left. Checked the bag once we pulled out and realized they forgot an entire order of salad and soup. Another customer walked in trying to place an order and sat there for 10 min before he was helped. I come here all the time for breakfast with my family. Today it was disappointing and disgusting. I had to go through 5 coffee mugs til I found a clean one. Be sure to check for dirt, lipstick stains, etc.. I had to wait at least 5 minutes at the register because there was no one to take my order or ring me up. Finally an annoyed employee that was in the kitchen cooking came to help me. He looked mad that the person that was supposed to be working the register was MIA. She showed up and finished my order. My food came out cold! 2 Americans with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon (but they burnt it) and a croissant. It usually comes with slices of tomatoes but they left them off. The eggs were wet and pale.. Bacon was burnt and not crispy! The coffee was horrible. It was like clear brown water. I'm mad cuz this is why I come here!!! Two thumbs down today. I'm a La Madeleine lover, usually dining in Dallas. This restaurant is one step below iHop. We were greeted by several young ladies who would have rather been elsewhere, never saw a smile. Paid 3.99 for three hard strawberries and 17 blueberries, the omelets were soaked in grease and the veggies were dumped in ONE end of the omelet. They left out part of our order and I had to ask 3 times to have the coffee pot refilled. The employees here couldn't care less about the service or food. I grew up eating La Madeleine in the Dallas area and was really pleased to see it here when I moved to Baton Rouge a year ago. Can't go wrong with the soups, quiche, potato gallete, salad, and desserts (fruit tart, tiramisu)! The only problem I've had is twice when I've ordered a caesar salad without chicken to go, it has included chicken and I was charged full-price. When I returned to let them know about the mistake, all they did was take the chicken back and didn't fix my receipt! It wasn't a huge price difference, so I didn't say anything...but it would have been nice if they'd offered to take the extra chicken charge off!
