So I'm from Dallas, ho.e of this chain. They should be ashamed of what they call a crossiant. No flakey buttery goodness anymore. More like a bulk product from Sam's. Breakfast was scrambled eggs spooned out of a large pre-cooked container of them, like at a buffet, not individually cooked anymore. Jam is now smooth, no chunky goodness. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Needless to say, I left La Madeline with a positive experience. A friend and I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and I'll admit, I was a little confused. Luckily, my friend had been here a few times so she explained some things to me. I wasn't the only one confused, though; a couple who came after us looked just as confused as I did. There are menus to look at but there's also a counter that is set up similar to a buffet with servers. It took me a while to understand that it depends on what you order; some dishes you can get at the counter while others will be brought out to you; you are also given a number on a wooden spoon so that the servers can find your table. This concept is interesting and unique to me. Seating, eating utensils, bread, and drinks are self service with the exception of specialty drinks such as mimosas and lemonade (of course, you have to buy a drink to get a cup). My friend and I ordered salad samplers and we got our food quickly. Seating wise, there is a good amount of space but it looks like it could easily become crowded; there is seating outside so that's a plus if the weather outside is nice. The food is good and the portions are just right. The cream of mushroom soup was the best I've ever had. I loved the texture and the taste. The pasta salad was delicious and refreshing. I got a little bowl of chicken salad but I couldn't finish it because it wasn't in sandwich form; it definitely tastes better in a sandwich than by itself. Once you're finished eating, you can leave your dishes at your table and the wait staff will clear the table after you leave. TLDR: La Madeline is nice but a little confusing; nevertheless, it's a good place to try out if you're looking for something new (and plus, you get a discount for checking in on yelp) read more

Took my son here upon his request, he said the place was great. I order bacon and scrambled eggs, my son ordered soup and sandwich. Because they have this ill conceived order system, you order at one register but pay at a 2nd , my son was given his food and mine was to be delivered to the tabble. After a solid 20+ minute wait we went back to the register and was told my food was coming. Another 10 minutes a plate with cold hasty eggs and greasy bacon arrived. I suspect it was completed in a timely manner but somehow allowed to chill. (literally). We asked that it be remade. Sadly after another 20 or so minute wait I decided I was too angry to eat, asked them to make it to go. Well sadly the story didn't end there. I got home and discovered they gave me the wrong food. Huge Kudos to the lunch manager today! One of the staff was unbelievably rude/mean to me and the manager took the correct swift action in making things right for the customer and correcting his staff's bad behavior. It's safe to come back, From what I saw (ripping off her hat and storming into the kitchen) I don't believe she is still on the payroll. The food was delicious, it came quick and was delicious. We are driving through and needed something quick but healthy. My fiancé got the chicken crepe, he ate the entire thing (pretty large portion) and looked delightful. I got their Ceaser salad with their hot turkey sandwich (it had bacon, toasted cheese, and turkey) on a your choice of fresh bed. They have fresh bread baked daily with (I think homemade) blackberry jam. It was delicious and perfect stopping point for dinner. read more

I love La Madeleine, but this location has some very big problems with management, staff, quality of food and the overall layout of the restaurant. I have been going to the Duluth location for years and when I saw this spot coming to the MOG area I was super excited and after my first visit hope they can fix many of the problems. The biggest problem I am not sure how they can fix is the layout of the place. It appears as if they have far less seating and the way the spot is arranged it seems cluttered. My first experience they had no real line and people working were confused. The second visit the women that took my order confused me with the people behind me and then my third visit for Mother's Day they told us to come back in an hour because they were not ready for such a large crowd... Third strike for me at this place. All of my experiences with the food have been messed up. Missing ingredients, undercooked eggs and items missing from my order. They seemed extremely unorganized on all of my visits, but am sure it will improve in time, but I will wait to return. read more

The food is great, but the way that they operate is not. They have the cashier who takes orders also getting food for orders which slows down the ordering process so much. The line was backed up out of the door with elderly people having to wait almost an hour for seating. This is a somewhat difficult review. If I were rating just the food, I'd give it 3 - 4 stars. However, I'm rating the overall experience. If you need an employee stationed at the door to do traffic control because no one could figure out how to order on their own, maybe you should re-think your operation. The fun starts by getting directed to one of two lines (to-go or dine-in). Dine-in was longer, you are provided a menu to look over, and wait to be directed to the cafeteria-like follow-on line where you can order food. Once in the ordering line, the difficulty is that you progress by stations: salad first, then soup, then entree, then cashier. However, if someone just wants salad, they hold the line for anyone behind them who, say, just wants a non-salad entree. The whole effect seems woefully inefficient. By the time we got to the cashier, I could have used a drink. Unfortunately, since this location is new, they don't have their beer + wine license yet, so water it was... You then proceed to get your own drinks and utensils and find a seat. If you selected a non-made-while-you-wait entree, they bring it to your table. As for the food itself, it was quite good. The tomato basil soup was creamy and flavorful, my cranberry and walnut salad was fresh and tasty, and my wife liked her croissant sandwich, though it was a bit small. I don't think I'd go back just given the headache of ordering, though. read more

My absolute favorite for breakfast or coffee with the family! I've visited this chain in Georgia as well as Texas and I never seem to be disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Probably the most complicated thing here is getting used to walking in the door and knowing what to do next. When you first come in there and menus that are usually stored in an upright rack. After you look over the menu and find out what you want, then you approach the, what seems like, a buffet style line and you tell the person over the counter what you want and then slide your tray down to the register. If you seem confused just tell them it's your first time here and you're not familiar with the process, they'll help you out pretty good. I decided to throw my niece's bridal shower at the Buford, GA location and it turned out fantastic! Saiid and Melvin were wonderful. We were able to reserve their "party room". There was a slight mixup with another customer with the last name Taylor throwing a baby shower on the same day, but these 2 jumped through hoops to rectify the situation and made sure everything was perfect. We actually ordered from the catering menu, and they set everything up for us. All the ladies loved it and the food was perfect! I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the setupto show, but it was lovely. I love eating here on a normal basis (I am addicted to their chicken friand and creme brulee), and now I have a great place to take parties to as well! read more

We have been coming here now for about 6 months and have really enjoyed the food and coffee for breakfast. Recently we have noticed that they are getting worse and worse at taking orders and processing people through the line. They send a server to the beginning of the line to take your order electronically even if no one is in front of you which starts contgesting the entrance of the restaurant as it is poorly designed. Also, it may not be a big deal to some people, but for 6 months or so now 1 of the 2 bathroom stalls in the men's room Is missing the slide latch on the door so it won't stay closed causing you to have to use the handicap toilet if you want privacy. I told the manager about a month ago and he said he already replaced it once and it broke again??? I told him I would go to home depot and install one for them and he just laughed it off..... I've been a longtime patron of the Duluth La Madeline and was excited that one was opening closer to my part of town. While the food and menu is the same, this Buford location is missing the cozy atmosphere and personable service that the Duluth location has. I feel like the service is mediocre and minimal compared to the Duluth location and the employees are not as quick to bus tables or come around and check on guests here. Like I said, the food is good. Their tomato soup, Caesar salad and pastries are incredible and unique. They mix the salad fresh right in front of you as you go through the line. I am usually a fan of La Madeline's coffee, but at this location, it doesn't taste as good. I'd assume it's because they brew it into large serving dispensers while the Duluth location brews individual pots of coffee. read more

I've been here several times and it's most often hit than miss as I make my way through the menu. Their soup selection is lacking (which is unfortunate as I LOVE soups) and all have cream (I get that it's French but really) and the only option that doesn't isn't very good. It's a half hearted effort at a veggie soup, although there is hope, today I noticed a NEW vegetable soup on the menu and I'm eager to try it on our next visit. The sandwiches are very good, especially the croque monsieur. The larger plates are all ok, except the paella which I've really enjoyed. But even that could use more of the ingredients it comes with than just the rice. The star of the show is the Eggs Benedict! It's served at all times while supplies last, which means it's mostly only available in the mornings and occasionally the early afternoon, so if your lucky it'll be there for lunch. Today I enjoyed it at noon and it's a Saturday so that is a good gauge of availability. It's served on an open toasted croissant and it has bacon and ham. The hollandaise sauce isn't too lemony which I appreciate. The desserts are second to none. On some visits I've bought a whole baguette from the dessert counter (reasonably priced at $2-$3) and my family have eaten with our eat-in meal...they will heat it up for you if you prefer. We prefer the baguette as the self serve bread available in the dining room is most often stale. It's a welcome departure from the although good but predictable options in the Mall of Georgia area, highly recommend if you enjoy French cuisine. read more

This place has been a staple for my family for years. We always have an amazing experience and devour delicious food. This past week, it was my son's 6th birthday. Out of all the places a kid could choose, he chose Le Madeleine for his birthday dinner. He wanted a place that the family could meet at and celebrate with him. His only request was 'to sit by the fireplace' . I thought this was so cute and wanted to make it special so I called ahead to make sure we could snag that specific table at dinner time. Not only did the manager reserve the tables, but the entire staff lined up at the door to surprise my kid when we walked in. They all stood and sang happy birthday to him as we entered . It brought tears to my eyes to see them all go out of their way for a little boy. THANK YOU to Elijah, Gabi, Brenda, Eileen and Yoeliz for making that night something we will always remember. We can't wait to see you all again, we will be there soon! We will continue our tradition of family gatherings there for years to come.
