This was my first time visiting and I came with three other friends. It's definitely not as a formal or fancy as I thought but the casual aura was definitely welcoming. I ordered the Shrimp Crepe Florentine which was delicious! So delicious that two of my friends had to be copy cats and change their order LOL. There was this really sweet cashier (wish I would've gotten her name but she had glasses on) who took our order and made sure everything was fine. The wait for the food was a little bit too long in my opinion, but nonetheless it arrived. Also, there were literally no forks around, like at all. So not only did we have to wait for our food, but we also had to wait another fifteen minutes to try and figure out where the forks were. Eventually, the nice waiter that I had mentioned before brought forks out and made sure everything was ok. She didn't even seem bothered when my two friends changed their orders! Another thing that bothered me was the bread. When we first arrived, there was no bread at all. My friend asked one of the ladies working there for some and she obliged. The bread they brought out following that was just...not it. It looked like they had just quickly cut up some bread and put it down. It wasn't warm so the butter didn't even melt and...yeah I wasn't a fan. Other than those minute details, which really wasn't that bad--restaurants have their days just like we do--the food was good, the vibe was good, and it was a very friendly atmosphere! My sorority met here for our monthly breakfast! We called ahead for reservations and seating in the private dining room as we get kinda noisy. We had the best time of fellowship and the food was great and no orders were delivered wrong. This is our third time and many of the ladies come here with family and other groups. The manager and Sarah were both very friendly and treated us well! The tables see decorated with little flowers and clean cloths. They provided a coffee urn and plenty of nice cold water too! We went there for lunch on Martin Luther king. It was very busy but the service was fast. I order 2 kids meals with chicken and rice, it comes with fruit , it was very good. We also had a crème brûlée and a chocolate mouse for desert. It is our fav desert so I can not resist I would come back for the food ! Overall we had a great time. read more

I've eaten at this location several times over the last two years, and while the food is usually delicious, the service is not. Went in a couple of evenings and was told that I could either get a different quiche than what I had ordered, or wait 15 minutes. I then ordered sweet Tea - paid for it and went to the tea urn, no sweet tea. Girl at the register was extremely rude when I asked for more sweet Tea. Waited for another 5 minutes, and I was then told that they couldn't make any more that night, and this was two hours before closing. Not the first time I've had poor service here, this time was just extraordinary. Le Madeleine's = Good Food + Bad Service. read more

I've lived in France and will attest that La Madeleine does not, in any way, provide the French cafe experience...well, except for the à la carte practice of ordering. When you walk in, you are immediately filtered to a counter where you are to grab a tray and walk down an assembly line to select various items to add to said tray. When you reach the end of the counter, you pay and find a table to sit with your meal and eat. I ordered a cup of Tomato Basil soup and the Salmon & French Lentils. The roasted salmon fillet was over-cooked and dry. Luckily, it was served over French lentil and kale stew to add some moisture to the dish. The soup was, unfortunately, extremely salty. I couldn't finish it because it tasted like I was drinking a sodium smoothie. My beau ordered the French onion soup, Chicken Friand la Madeleine (tender chicken, mushroom onion and Swiss filling in a flaky puff pastry shell topped with creamy wild mushroom sauce), and a Caesar salad. Everything was subpar and bland. When we ordered, the cashier indicated that the French onion soup was vegetarian, but upon tasting it, that was not true. I checked the menu online, as the description is not supplied on the menu when preserving at the counter, and it clearly states that the soup is made with beef broth. So, beware!! I surmise that this cafe(teria) does very well because it is in a great location where undistinguished palates of shoppers need something quick and flavored to satisfy their hunger after walking the stretches of the Mall of Georgia and decidedly wanting something better than "mall food". read more

The other half finally comes out (the croque monsieur), they up-size it to a full sandwich for us, to say sorry for making us wait half an hour, but it's mushy. Then the mess-up dish comes out. I really like this little restaurant, my mom and I came here after having disastrously tried Mimi's Cafe which had been too loud and the waitress to unaccommodating when I had a migraine. The restaurant is kind of cafeteria style but not, but it was very relaxing after being at Mimi's. The coffee was very good and they have 3 different roast for you to choose from and you can also get some bread and jam while you wait for your food. The food was good from what I could eat of it (migraines severely dampen your appetite) but the little bit I could eat was very good. There were a good number of people there but everyone was quietly enjoying their breakfast, everyone just being respectful of it being morning and not wanting to disturb everyone else. I've been a longtime fan and patron of La Madeleine. Their food is so fresh and the menu is unique. I have not had anything I did not like or enjoy. My favorites include the Caesar salad, tomato soup and the Sacher torte cake! - The Caesar salads are mixed to order right in front of you and are generously covered in their delicious Caesar dressing and amazing croutons. The croutons are perfect - not soggy bread but not teeth and roof of our mouth ripping hard either. - Their tomato soup is sooo incredible! It's is creamy yet tangy too. The consistently is a fine chunky, so it's not too watery and there's also not big pieces. It definitely is not like your basic canned tomato soup. I love that you can buy glass jars of the soup to take home or for gifts. - The Sacher torte is so moist and I appreciate and enjoy the raspberry filling. It's not overly sweet, but this cake dessert is rich and very satisfying. read more

Because they have this ill conceived order system, you order at one register but pay at a 2nd , my son was given his food and mine was to be delivered to the tabble. After a solid 20+ minute wait we went back to the register and was told my food was coming. Another 10 minutes a plate with cold hasty eggs and greasy bacon arrived. I suspect it was completed in a timely manner but somehow allowed to chill. (literally). We asked that it be remade. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Needless to say, I left La Madeline with a positive experience. A friend and I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and I'll admit, I was a little confused. Luckily, my friend had been here a few times so she explained some things to me. I wasn't the only one confused, though; a couple who came after us looked just as confused as I did. There are menus to look at but there's also a counter that is set up similar to a buffet with servers. It took me a while to understand that it depends on what you order; some dishes you can get at the counter while others will be brought out to you; you are also given a number on a wooden spoon so that the servers can find your table. This concept is interesting and unique to me. Seating, eating utensils, bread, and drinks are self service with the exception of specialty drinks such as mimosas and lemonade (of course, you have to buy a drink to get a cup). My friend and I ordered salad samplers and we got our food quickly. Seating wise, there is a good amount of space but it looks like it could easily become crowded; there is seating outside so that's a plus if the weather outside is nice. The food is good and the portions are just right. The cream of mushroom soup was the best I've ever had. I loved the texture and the taste. The pasta salad was delicious and refreshing. I got a little bowl of chicken salad but I couldn't finish it because it wasn't in sandwich form; it definitely tastes better in a sandwich than by itself. Once you're finished eating, you can leave your dishes at your table and the wait staff will clear the table after you leave. TLDR: La Madeline is nice but a little confusing; nevertheless, it's a good place to try out if you're looking for something new (and plus, you get a discount for checking in on yelp) read more
