I visited La Madeleine for the first time in several years. Used to go to the one in downtown Dallas to get their Cesar salad with chicken. Tried that again and it seems like the recipe has changed. They used to have the chicken in little foil containers that would be put on the salad when you ordered it (was always nice and warm), but this trip it seemed like the chicken was different and pre-made and chilled. The Cesar dressing also tasted a bit bland this visit. Maybe I just had an off meal and will try it again. Historically it has been the best Cesar around! read more

This place is the definition of average. Average price. Average service. Average food. One of those not bad but not great places. Will I be back? Yeah probably. It's an easy place to meet up and grab an okay meal. The inside is pretty spacious. I went during a busy time and had plenty of tables to choose from. The food itself is decent. I usually get a sandwich with chips or a salad and I leave satisfied. They have free bread with jam or butter so that's a plus. I think they have an app so if you're about that loyalty then you can look into that. read more

So many good choices and favorites. Every La Madeleine has excellent food and the menus are the same. Service varies from place to place and most of the time they are very courteous and quick to serve you even though the food line is cafeteria style. In fact they are so quick to clean up and a guy got up to go to the restroom while waiting for his food to come and the workers cleared his table of his drink, silver and napkins, twice. Just efficiency gone wrong there. They need a system for single diners to get up and get fresh drinks, go to the restroom or whatever with out returning to their table to find it cleared of all dishes. This location is one of my favorites because of the large outside patio. Unlike many locations their patio faces a quiet parking lot next to a creek which is a bit more picturesque than sucking in exhaust air from a busy street. read more

Went here at around 1115 today. Not only was it difficult to place an order because no one was there at the counter, but I was charged 5 times. The girl running the register had me swipe several times even after it said approved. Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience. I get home and noticed I was charged 5 times. I called and the gentleman was not able to help because I did not have a receipt. Again, no apology. No accountability for their mistake. Terrible service for some mediocre food. The food was delicious and tasted authentic. I was here for a technology presentation and the staff was very helpful to me as a speaker. If you are doing a presentation, make sure and bring your own projector and extension chords! The French theme is very evident all throughout the restaurant (even in the bathrooms). We come to this location since it is the closest to my house and we keep coming back! They have a great patio space for breezy days and the inside is pretty spacious too. We ordered very easily and an employee kindly carried one of our trays to a table by the window (by request). I ordered a quiche Lorraine and a tomato basil soup with a cup of coffee. The quiche was great and the soup was sooo good. I had the American medium roast coffee, which also tasted great. I don't know if it was just tonight or what was going on but the pastries were horrible. So was the coffee. The service was alright and the employees were trying their best but seriously I was so disappointed. It's been a while since i've been there and was so excited to finally have my favorite tart and coffee while my sister had the chocolate cake and a chocolate croissant. It was horrible. The chocolate cake tasted like lime.... yes, lime. The tart tasted like it's been sitting there for at least 3 days and the croissant was cold. Never stopping here again. read more

We decided to try this location again and were beyond impressed. Seems like they had some new staff who were very kind and extremely helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and the management staff were so professional and nice. Good job La Madeleine!! It's always good to see people who care about their job. La Madeleine has the best quiche of practically anywhere. It's light and fluffy and for a small round dish, the ratio of crust to egg was excellent. I consider this place fast casual, only because you have to get in line to get your food. I love the $5 mimosa for brunch/breakfast on the weekend. You get a small personal size bottle, which is about 1 1/2 glasses (at least for me!) and they give you a small carafe of juice. I like to add a splash of juice to the champagne and drink the rest. Perfect! Add a croissant and cup of tomato basil soup and I'm set. Excellent! read more

We sat outside and then had to move tables when a group sat next to us. La Madeline is not following the rules for 6 ft. social distancing on their patio. Instead of removing the seats from every other table to keep a distance. La Madeline French Bakery on Campbell & Coit does not do this. People not practicing social distancing come and sit by you. We will not be returning here again. So sad La Madeline can not follow the mandates to protect people. If they are going to have their patio sitting open, they need to follow the social distancing mandate. read more

I usually love La Madeline but I went there yesterday and had the Spinich Apple feta salad with Salmon and was very disappointed. The spinach leaves were huge and they put it on a flat plate so nearly impossible to cut without half your salad sliding off plate. Hardly any apples on salad and the salmon was verrrry fish tasting. Overall not a good experience. Would not recommend. Thank goodness the bread and jam was good. read more

if you don't know la madeleine, you must try. This has always been my favorite location; imo, their flagship restaurant in decor and design (though i've only been to 4 or 5 different locations) partly because it's tucked away in a surprisingly quiet corner of Collin Creek. on the east side of the restaurant there's a long vine-covered patio with a narrow garden and a tall treeline that shields you from the sight and sound of 75. Every visit hasn't always been perfect, i've even been disappointed, but the managers do what they can. The staff are pleasant and the dishes are consistent enough. Self-serve, though they bring you your plate. Maybe it's spring fever but everything is almost perfect here today. if it wasn't for the strong breeze i'd be on the patio. it's mid march and the wisteria aren't even budding, but i recommend a visit in early-to-mid april ('09) to enjoy french country cooking under a 120-foot patio covered in wisteria blossoms. it's between the rushes so there's no crowd (this place gets busy), and i have a little table in the corner with an outlet (they are plenty around the restaurant). not only the laptop needs recharging. i've come here for a double cappuccino (and to finish SWOT analysis of PayPal for a group project). rarely adventuring outside the daily americano, something hit me a couple of weeks ago and i ordered the best cappuccino ever (heh, i may have had two in my life). it's was rich and foamy and perfect. so i came back to try it again with a different barista and... MMMMMMM!!!!! decided to throw in a mini tiramisu - perfect size. oh yeah, they serve good food here too; breads & pastries and meals. i have always enjoyed the simpler, grilled fare: - potato galette - crocque monsieur - makes the finest grilled ham & cheese sandwich imaginable look like an underachiever - quiches (i'm partial to the lorraine, but they're all good) - the tomato basil soup is their standard-bearer, but the mushroom cream is, arguably, a notch better. - bottomless bread (try the multi-grain) - chicken spring salad (better than the caesar, imo) - all of the pastries are top-notch, but a special shout to the fruit tart and now the list grows by one, - cappuccino they serve one of the best breakfast/brunch in dfw - but be prepared for a crowd on the weekends. read more

I usually go to the La Madeleine in Irving. I hadn't been to the Plano location for years until my husband took me last night. I was incredibly disappointed because everything seemed to keep going wrong. It took an extremely long time to get through the line at 7p on a Thursday night. There was a new employee who seemed as though he had been completely thrown to the wolves. No one was watching over his shoulder or training him. It was clear he had no idea what he was doing. They gave us our soups in the line which we quickly discovered were room temp. While at the register we asked for new soups that were fresh and warm. The new kid said "Okay come back to the register in about 10 minutes to check if we've warmed it up." I didn't want my soup warmed up, I wanted fresh, and they had to bring the rest of our meal to our table anyways so why couldn't they have brought the soup with it. He said they couldn't do that. I also asked for a Rose, which he had to ask his manager about. She finally came over and helped him a little bit. When our sandwiches were delivered to our table, the soups were not included. I had to find another employee to help and he was the saving grace of the entire experience, I wish I caught his name. On top of all that the restrooms were not maintained, trash all over the floor, etc. All in all we were very unhappy with our experience. We'll stick to Irving. read more

I don't really get why people come here. It's really mediocre food with small portions and pretty big prices. We recently went after church for some brunch and the food was just so plain and our bill felt way overpriced. I kept lamenting that we could have just gone to IHOP for the exact same quality but way more food and cheap prices. Also, their fruit tart is terrible. It's so stiff and doesn't taste fresh at all. The crust is rock hard and the custard in it is similar to pudding that's been opened and kept outside for a few days. I'm not a fan. read more

Once you've been to one La Madeleine you've been to them all, but I like their consistent presentation of good casual food. My favorite dishes are the french dip sandwich, tomato basil pesto salade, the quiche and of course their tomato basil soup. I could drink that stuff from the jar. This location has plenty of seating inside and on a patio which is nice. It can still get very crowded during lunch and the to go line can take 20 minutes to get your food (eeek!). But once you get your food it is worth it. read more

La Madeleine is simply delicious and well made food, with an atmosphere that matches the quality and type of food that they serve. Some of my favorite things in the order of how much I love them: 1. Tomato Basil Soup - Seriously, the best you'll ever have. 2. Croque Monsieur - I traveled Europe last summer and ate 2 different croque monsieur sandwiches while in Paris. La Madeleine's version beats Paris's by far. 3. Chicken Caesar Sandwich - Wow this thing is good. The chicken is tender and the ciabatta bread is great. 4. Bottomless bread - The Country Wheat is my favorite--so good. 5. Chocolate croissant - Need I say more? After eating in several French restaurants in both Paris and Caen, I truly like La Madeleine's take on French cuisine even better than the "real thing". read more

I just love this place! The Tomato Soup and The Cream of Mushroom Soup are my favorites. I usually order a Potato Galette along with my soup. So yummy! There's always fresh bread available with jam and butter to enjoy too. The employees are always pleasant, I've never had any negative experiences during any of my visits. This is a nice little French countryside themed cafe/bakery that has a nice display of breakfast and lunch items. They stay modern through their POS, ordering and notably clean bathrooms but otherwise adopt a nice theme. The eggs and crepes are well seasoned and taste about what I'd expect for a nice, light breakfast. The pasta was also decently light and tasted fairly fresh. This is a great place to stop on the weekends when you're turning away from IHOP and it's busy tables and packed queues. read more

Ok, for daily affair of a quick lunch or a mid-afternoon bite to eat this place is great! But the service is kinda off considering the crowds are big. Then there is the best part about this place, the desserts. Some of the best things for breakfast or whatever occasion you need them for. Wasn't impressed with this location. They didn't have carrot cake (according to the gentleman who was helping me it's a seasonal item) but I had some at another locations the previous week. The didn't have regular chocolate chip cookies so I had to settle for the chocolate chunk cookie. The crust on the lemon tarts was too hard so they would break when eaten into. I spent $40 on bakery goods, and it was not that good. The gentlemen also seemed annoyed that I kept ordering and ordering. I will not be coming back. There are much better locations out there. read more
