Very accommodating for large groups! For the times that I have gone with 10+ people, they have been welcoming of our last minute reservations or our party coming 5-10 minutes late. The restaurant itself has several dozen seats, and I love the cozy vibes given by the decorated walls and brown/blue theme of the restaurant. Most recently, for our large party, we ordered some appetizers including their Large Combination dip, and I got their Grilled Chicken Shawarma over Rice. Their main dinner entrees came with hummus, pita, and a choice of something else (I chose their Tomato Soup for the day). The dips were displayed beautifully and were delicious, with my personal favorite being their hummus and baba ghanoush. I loved the creaminess of their Tomato Soup along with how their chicken was cooked and seasoned. The variety of dishes on their menu means that there's something for everyone to try! read more

One of my favorite "La Med" locations in the Bay Area. Happened to be here for lunch on a Wednesday when the farmers market was going on. With a lovely patio out the front, the Noe Valley location is light and airy with decor from various countries that are located along the Mediterranean. Got the Mediterranean Plate for lunch ($18.50) which comes with pita bread and choice of salad, soup, or Armenian potato salad. You have a choice of three items: Spinach & Feta Fillo, Cheese Karni Fillo, Falafel, Levant Sandwich, Dolma Grape Leaf, Chicken Cilcia Fillo, Chicken Pomegranate or Lamb Lule for an additional $1.50. Their menu doesn't change much, but this is what brings me here. It's the comfort knowing that I can order my Mediterranean Plate and get my Chicken Cilicia fix (cinnamon-spiced chicken with chickpeas & raisins in a phyllo dough roll). I even got to enjoy happy hour (Tues-Fri 3:00 - 5:00), I just ordered a Stella Artois ($6) however which is not on tap. I consider La Med to be like the McD's of Mediterranean food. I'm sorry, is that bad? Not meant to be an insult, but they've been perfecting the processes, the food and you always know what you're going to get. Our cheerful server proved a point. I will say that the have the best I will call it Greek coffee ever in this city outside of a caffe neo . Which is a men's only Greek club it's delicious and amazing. We came here for an impromptu date night, we were seated right away but our first table was a bit wobbly, Or waiter actually noticed fist and offered to move us. I had the Lamb Sirloin Kababs and my wife had the Lamb Shwarma. I paired mine with the Chicken soup while she had the potato salad. Mainstay on Noe Street for as long as I can remember. Their sandwich board advertising the lamb kebab special brought us in. The ambiance is casual, rustic and Zen with Hellenic decor and gently worn wood. Food is as good as I remembered. We split the combination plate of hummus, baba ghanoush and tabuleh with vegetables and warm pita bread. The baba ghanoush has an umami, smoky taste that hits every note. We both had the lamb sirloin kebab over saffron rice accompanied by Avgolemono soup, a preparation with lots of lemon juice and finely shredded chicken. I'm starting to like their soup preparation; it's unique. The lamb kebab was a little dry but still very tasty and with all the elements on the plate including two dipping sauces, it came together perfectly. A glass of dry white wine was a relaxed way to begin the holiday week over a late lunch. Service was warm and attentive. They brought us extra pita bread for my swimmer and checked on us while we dined. A great place for lunch or dinner. Metered street parking, not difficult during the day. read more

Was craving some Mediterranean and stopped for lunch here. This spot did not disappoint. We grabbed a seat outside on their parklet during some amazing weather and luckily there happeend to be a holiday market happening right in front of the restaurant. This made our lunch very lively! We shared the small dips trio and a falafel wrap with a side salad lunch special. Everything was exceptionally fresh and well prepared. I would habe maybe liked a bit of spice option but the food was great already on its own so we didnt end up needing it. It would have just made it a plus. Our service was attentive and cordial without interrupting. Had a great lunch here because of the warm and friendly service, nice outdoor seating, and good food and wine. They had a different menu for lunch and dinner, I didn't look too much at the menus because their chicken shawarma salad special for the day sounded so delicious it was an easy choice. About half of our table, if not more ended up ordering that. We also ordered some liter bottles of their house chardonnay, which ended up being perfect for the beautifully sunny day. The service from everyone working was very nice. They were quick to get our food and wine, and provided a really welcoming atmosphere. My friend had this place cater a party, and I was so impressed with the food that I had to come try it in person. The restaurant is cute, cozy, and serves delicious Greek and Middle Eastern cuisine. Frozen food that is microwaved for $20,-? Are you for real? My meat was chewy and so rubbery I could knock someone out with it. My daughters falafel cork dry also microwaved! The waiter was the only positive about this place. I saw the cooks hanging out and the grill was off while the microwave was the only thing working when I walked through their kitchen to go to the bathroom. The place was empty for a reason. I've been a fan of La Med since the 90's when a coworker introduced me to La Méditerranée on Fillmore street, which was opened in 1979. We would order the Middle Eastern plate and I would switch up the items, as everything I have tried was delicious. It came with soup, salads and your choice of three items. So fast forward to this past year, we went on a boat tour for work of the Bay and they had it catered by La Med. I was so delighted to be able to have this food and rave about this place again. Since then, we have had the catering a few times as it make for great snacking plates. We had a work happy hour and ordered through Doordash to be delivered to the bar. Worked out amazingly and we had the Fruit and Sweet Treats tray (small), Dips and Pita Bread Tray (small) and the Combination Tray (small) to feed a group of about 10 for appetizers. The food is still so good, the service is friendly and prompt. Always a great choice for something a little healthier and delicious. read more

Came here for a cozy weekend brunch after a Soulcycle workout with a friend. I really enjoyed the Chicken pomegranate wrap (the sides were also delicious), was very juicy and well-balanced flavors. Shakshuka was also great (though maybe not on the level of Troya on Fillmore) and hummus platter was tasty and healthy. Service was also fast on the day we went, as it wasn't very busy. I revisited this spot just a few days ago and am so glad I gave it another shot! We ordered the chicken pomegranate plate and the salmon kebab. The chicken was so juicy and fell off the bone! This dish takes a bit longer to prepare but was absolutely worth the wait. The salmon kebab was also super flavorful and silky! Pairing both of these meats with the rice and hummus was incredible. Ordered through Uber Eats. One plate was missing. Since Uber takes 24-48 hours to solve anything, I called the restaurant. The person on the phone was rude and unhelpful. He denied having made a mistake. Would not pass me with a manager would not go talk to the kitchen staff. Simply a horrible experience. I had a party of 8 for dinner at my house and we didn't have enough to eat. Shame on you folks. I'll never ever order or eat there ever again. Edit, I changed to 3 stars because the owner apologized, but your staff needs serious training in customer service, morover your menu online shows a huge plate as the family style dish for $34 dollars, there is no way on heaven you can fit two platters on one to go box, I wish I had taken a picture but I was too flustered. I've been here maybe five times. Progressively gotten worse over the years unfortunately. Falafel was inedible. Literally spit out and pushed to the side, dry to the point of being inedible. "Tahini" was literally water that was white color and bitter to taste. Vegan lamb was good, dry but good covered in yogurt cucumber spread. Regular lamb meatballs were good. Chicken soup was acceptable. Rice pilaf was also inedible. Sweet and squishy. Pita is clearly not made there, dry and flavorless. Happy hour appetizers are decent deal, would not pay full price for them. Won't be back when Troya across the street is an incredibly better option. Service very friendly but not efficient. Small inside with loud music and outdoor is better option despite uncomfortable tables and chairs. read more

The side of soup was really good (I think it was chicken and rice). The sides that came with the main dish including the rice was delicious. The bathroom is weirdly located in the kitchen area and I'm not sure how they handle that when the place is busy and packed. I have eaten here many times over the past years and the food never disappoints! I usually order the lunch special with the pomegranate chicken, chicken cilicia, and lamb lube. It is served with hummus but I always sub it for their baba ganoush...yum!! They also have other flavorful items to enjoy but these are my staples. I frequent this location because of the I miss Jeff and Anna who used to work here. They always made my visits wonderfully pleasant. However, Zamir has made my visits just as lovely and the kitchen staff feels like home. They are always warm and friendly. The ambiance is cozy and I just love to come here as treat to unwind and dine. I know there were recent changes to staff and perhaps some new adjustments are yet to be made but don't let that stop you from ordering! Got an order from the app: Too Good to Go. For a fee they will pack leftovers from dinner. I waited 20 minutes. What I got was 4 fried rolls of some kind of chicken with a touch of sugar. No sauce or topping. I expected at least some rice and falafel. Very disappointed for the leftovers. I gave it to my dog for a snack. Had a super filling lunch here on a beautiful Sunday in the Castro! On Sundays, this street has a market, live band, and patio seating, which we took full advantage of. The last time I dined at this establishment was at their Berkeley location many years ago and it was refreshing to come to the SF location. We ordered a variety of dishes - each came with choices of sides (vegan potato/green salad, soups) and pita/hummus! -Chicken Pomegranate - this was delicious sweet, savory, tangy flavored tender chicken legs over rice pilaf and I chose a cool cucumber soup that was yogurt based. This was a winner! -Salmon Kebab- so tender and moist and the side of chicken soup was comforting and warm. Mom enjoyed it. -Chicken Shawarma Wrap- tasty and filling per my bro's partner. -Vegan Mediterranean plate- hubz approved! -Falafel appetizer- I wasn't a fan of their falafels, kinda dry but some hummus fixed it. Ordered Uber eats- fast, fresh delivery Mezze sampler was a nice way to try all the veg-friendly options. My faves were the smoky baba ghanoush and cheese stuffed phyllo dough. Falafel was dry, but the slice of a veggie quiche was really tasty. The three bean salad was ok- fresh veggies, but not a ton of beans. Eggs that were listed on the menu description were missing, only a few cubes of meh feta cheese, and I didn't love the tomato vinaigrette dressing so $15.50 seemed a bit pricy. read more

I enjoyed the textures and pop of sweetness from the currants. The hummus was smooth and creamy. The salad was fine. The thick pita was ehhh, it was dry and not warmed up (5 pieces). Went for San Francisco Restaurant Week Lunch Food - 5/5. The hummus and baba ghanoush were smooth with a slight bite for texture. They were salted perfectly with a good level of sourness to the point that the extra lemon was not needed. Tabouleh had a great chew to them and I enjoyed that the ratio was in favor of bulgur over parsley. Flavor was so zesty making your mouth salivate for the next bite! Lamb lule was very tender with a mild tomato sauce. Chicken pomegranate had very strong flavors of pomegranate, having the sweet and sour fruit flavors seeping throughout the meat. Rice pilaf was fluffy with bits of sweetness but was a tad bit soft for my liking. I liked that both fillos were not laden with oils making them have a crunchier texture. Chicken cilicia's densely packed chicken made for great flavor. I was pleasantly surprised that the spinach & feta was a sweet and savory dish which worked really well. Shakshuka had good tomato flavors with a hint of spiciness and the za'atar pita were packed with flavor. However, the chickpeas were undercooked having a hard center and the eggs felt overcooked. It wasn't bad, but felt like a missed opportunity. Baklava was filled with pistachios with a nice bite on the fillo. Their rosewater syrup was sweet with a beautiful aroma that livened up the dessert. Service - 4/5. Quick and friendly service. Value - 5/5. The restaurant week special was a sampling of 9 dishes including a drink of your choice for $30. I love a good sampler platter and was happy that they offered it for one person.
