If you're craving Indian food, this is definitely a place worth trying. We ordered the Kadhai Paneer and Dal Makhani, both medium spicy, and they were excellent. The Dal Makhani especially stood out--it tasted like authentic dhaba-style dal you would get in India, rich and flavorful. I've ordered takeout or delivery from here 6-7 times before and have always enjoyed the food. This was my first time dining in. We were also served complimentary papad along with green chutney and another chutney at the beginning, which was a nice touch. The only drawback was the dining area. The tables and even the glasses had a noticeable odor. I kept trying to figure out where it was coming from, and it smelled somewhat like dried urine. The food was great as always, but the smell took away from the dine-in experience. Overall, I'd still recommend this place for the food, especially the Dal Makhani and Kadhai Paneer. He offered to get the curry made asap, but we declined. He, then, gave us a complementary dessert! The food was very average to me. We got every entree medium spicy, but to me it was more mild than anything. We order the butter chicken, chicken tika masala, lamb tika masala, butter naan, and garlic naan. The butter chicken was not as creamy as I expected. The chicken and lamb tika were the same dish, but with different meats. It had a great fragrance, but was very average to me. I wished the garlic naan had a little more garlic flavor. It was very similar to the plain butter naan. It was also a normal flat texture and not crispy. Solid neighborhood Indian spot. We are very fortunate to live adjacent to the haight neighborhood -- it has such a great selection of different restaurants! This is definitely my favorite Indian food I've had in SF. I definitely need to try wayyyy more but compared to some of the fancier spots I've been to (Rooh, Amber), this place just tastes more authentic and is so delicious! First time tried a new place and it turned out to be amazing! Loved every bite of what we ordered. We ordered Malai Kofta, Navratan Korma, Paneer Tikka masala, Chai, Tandoori Roti and Naan and absolutely loved it. My favorite was the Alu Naan, Malai Kofta and the Chai. After a quick shopping trip around the Haight, my bf and I decided to come here for an early dinner. It was pretty quiet inside, but that was probably because it was 5pm. The Bollywood music videos on the TVs helped liven everything up. My only complaint is the faint sewage smell if you sit in the front room, the back room is a little better. One thing I noticed right away is how good the service is. We sat at a table in the front room and my bf asked to have the seat further from the door since he didn't bring a jacket. Immediately, our server let us know that the back room was warmer and that she could seat us there instead. It was just a small detail that started the meal on a good note. We ordered the vegetable pakora, paratha, dal makhani, butter chicken, and basmati rice. They brought us some papadums on the house to start, and it was my first time trying this. The light and crispy cracker was so flavorful and the variety of dipping sauces it came with were good. The butter chicken and rice was so good, the chicken was tender and the sauce was rich and comforting. The paratha was good as a butter chicken delivery system as well. The veggie pakora was a huge portion, and it was so crispy and I really liked the flavor of the chickpea batter. It's been awhile since we were last here & so my tastebuds were craving for some good eats. We ordered the same thing as last time, butterchicken, Salmon tandoori, buttered naan & basmati rice. This time we decided to order Mango Lassi & it was delicious! We received papadum, crispy lentil wafers with 3 unique sauces which are very flavorful. Everything is soo good. The butter chicken, my favorite is soo savory especially with naan. The succulent tandoori salmon is a must! On our next visit I want to order new items, being set on mulligatawny soup & eggplant fritters. As for service- pleasant, very welcoming & attentive. I was looking for a higher quality Indian option for delivery and was more than pleased with Om Indian. The saag paneer was creamy and well balanced and the lamb tikka masala was mind blowing. I ordered the highest level of spice, but apparently you have to be some kind of professional to handle that level of heat. It was no joke. Next time I will go one level down. This is my go to place to get any Indian food if I am craving something. I love their channa palak curry and also their vegetarian chow-mein (which was in retrospect a tad bit oily). Ordered Om Indian Cuisine to go and was excited to try it once I got home. We ordered two basmati rices (fyi huge portions), tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala (mild and spicy) & garlic naan. They packaged all the food for takeout very well and nothing spilled over, unlike some other places! Chicken Tikka Masala: 4/5 The sauce was very flavorful and they give a good amount of chicken cut into good bite sizes (not huge chunks like some places!). Also the sauce wasn't oily like some other restaurants I've been too. The mild had barely any spice to it and the spicy was what I imagined the mild should've been. Had to knock off a star because the spicy was mild at best. Next time I'll ask if they can add a little more spicy ;) Tandoori Chicken: 5/5 The tandoori chicken was marinated and cooked very well! We topped it with the fresh lemon juice and the flavors was amazing. They gave us 1 breast and the rest was just thighs and drumsticks. Which I was totally ok with because I love drumsticks. Would definitely order this again. Garlic Naan: 5/5 They give long slices of naan and I'm not complaining! I absolutely loved the garlic naan as it was full of garlic and the perfect thickness. Rice: 3.5/5 The rice was just ok as I have had more flavorful rice. However I will say 1 portion can feed 2-3 people. We ordered 2 rices for 3 people and had more than half of the rice leftover. Overall we really enjoyed all the food we ordered from here. We will definitely be ordering from here again and will try some of their other dishes. Lovely Indian restaurant that I'd come back to! First of all, the waiters were so kind and attentive which made the experience even better. The waiter started us off with a complimentary papadam that came with 3 delicious sauces. The papadam was super thin and somehow addicting. For the entree I got the chicken curry with GF garlic naan and basmati rice. The curry had an abundance of chicken and was surprisingly light, unlike many other Indian curries I've had. The naan was good, just not as garlicy as I expected. The rice was standard. We came here for a snack after thrifting in the Haight and Om gave us a whole dinner! We got the Chicken 65, and garlic naan. Both were huge portions at a fair price. The Chicken 65 had well spiced sauce, but was a little shy on the chili. The chicken was a bit over cooked, but still had a nice caramelized texture and flavor to it. The garlic naan was buttery and the two combined reminded me of an Indian pizza. Chicken would've been more delicious spicier!! The service was attentive and fast. This is based on their take out! - Samosa: perfectly fried, fist-sized balls filled with peas and potatoes. Comes with a mild green sauce and a sweet red sauce! I like to break open the samosas then douse them. - Chicken tandoori: so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The pickled onions pair so well with it! I wish it came with meatier chicken pieces though. - Chicken tikka masala: delicious curry! We got the version that wasn't spicy at all. We dipped some of the chicken tandoori in the curry. - Aloo Gobi: much more mild than other aloo Gobi dishes I've had. We dipped this in the tikka masala too! - Garlic Naan: so fun to dip into the curry. Always a must get with Indian food! All this cost a little bit less than $50. We had a family birthday dinner for my husband, and they were able to accommodate a party of 15. As we were very dissatisfied with the insulting excuse for Indian food, the most fun we had was deducing where the smell came from and we concluded it was the employee bathroom.
