A friend once told me that the best taquerias are often the small ones. Well, I believe I've found one of those hidden gems. A while back, a co-worker introduced me to this place, and just for fun, I decided to try their lengua (tongue) burrito. Interestingly, my co-worker, who is Mexican himself, isn't a fan of cow tongue in his tacos, but he thoroughly enjoyed his order. The burrito was delicious, and we both appreciated the unique touch of radish in their menu. The only downside was the parking lot, where someone was speeding out and nearly collided with the front of my car. Fortunately, there's now onsite patrol security to address such issues. One suggestion for improvement would be to relocate the menu bulletin, currently placed right by the window and over a table where people dine. It feels a bit awkward when customers stand beside me while I'm enjoying my food. Perhaps a more strategic placement would enhance the overall dining experience.

Solid 5 star carne asada burrito

My husband and I went to order food at Tacos Los Tres Reyes but totally forgot they only sell tacos. Since we both were craving a burrito and was extra hangry, I panic search on Yelp and found this place. And I am so glad I did because this place was a total hidden gem. The restaurant was hidden in the corner with only a few customers and to be frank looked a little outdated. However I love hole-in-the-wall restaurants because those places usually serve the best homemade food. We waited for quite a while for our food since there were about four people ahead of us and only two people running the restaurant. The food is made to order, you can hear the meat sizzling and cooking in the background so I know it's fresh and worth the wait. Now about the food. Whenever we go to a totally new restaurant my husband and I always try to not set any expectations unless it's one of those restaurants that has been heavily publicized by social media or those fancy fine dining restaurants. Since La mejor Taqueria was neither of those, we had zero expectations. I ordered a carne asada super burrito with everything and my husband ordered the same but his protein choice was Al pastor. The first few bites of my burrito I knew this was totally worth the 25 minutes wait. The rice was very seasoned, the carne asada was flavorful and had bits of charred-ness/ gristle (my fav) to it and the pico de gallo with lettuce and a thin layer of refried beans makes this a solid 5 star burrito for me. I haven't had a burrito around my neighborhood that I can say is a solid 5-star until now. The only thing I didn't care for is the salsa that gave us but since we ordered tacos from Los Tres Reyes for some family members, we used their orange sauce on our burrito and it was fire. We will definitely will be back and try their other dishes.

Enjoyed the super burrito with chopped tender beef tongue and carne asada. The order came out fast! The only thing is that the price is a tad high for the dining experience- The four tacos and the super burritos and a fountain drink came out to $36 ish.

It's a little hole in the wall. It's honestly super good. The name fits the flavorful food. It's a small place but they are quick and always really nice. When I used to come they gave us chips with our order but as of today they apparently don't anymore. That's so sad but it's okay. The tacos are so good. I think it's because they are made with the more yellowed corn tortillas which gave more flavor. Definitely recommend it. Down side: Bathrooms are in the back of the kitchen. Doesn't seem so hygienic now that I think of it. Which is the reason for my review. But the food is good. Hope they are clean.

3 carnitas tacos plate. Also tried the pastor, highly recommend!

Seriously lives up to its name. The tacos were delicious; nicely loaded, lil bit of grease in the tortillas like "street" tacos SHOULD have, good flavors and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is located in a strip mall , the restaurant itself is small, basic, not fancy just damn good food! For 3 4 taco plates with rice and beans, a side order of rice and beans and 3 jarritos i paid $32-$33. Not bad at all, I've definitely paid more for less. Will definitely be going back.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

We waited 1.5 hours to be seated while half the restaurant sat empty. After we were seated, it took about 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks, another 30 minutes before our order was taken, and then an hour for the food to arrive. Throughout the wait, several servers were gathered in the corner talking and laughing while tables--including ours--were left unattended. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the service. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and the shrimp was so chewy that I couldn't finish it. It was honestly one of the worst shrimp dishes I've ever been served. I've seen countless influencers giving this place glowing reviews, and after eating here, I simply don't believe them. My experience was the complete opposite. If you appreciate good food and good service, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.

The staff were attentive, gave great menu recommendations, and constantly came by to refill our water. Very spacious dining room. We started with the Queso Fundido, served on a small hot plate with chilis, garlic, and oil on top. It's basically a block of cheese served with chips. Even with the hot plate, it didn't stay gooey for long, but it was a pretty good starter. The Coconut Campachano was creamy and refreshing. It also came with chips, though ours seemed like crumbs from the bottom of the barrel. We got the Trompo tacos and Sautéed Shrimp tacos. Both were tasty, and the tortillas seemed fresh. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
