The Food and service is a 5! The tortillas are made fresh, the birria was amazing ! It is Chivo (goat) However the restaurant environment and theme feels outdated and the music is loud like a cantina. Great place to have birria and beer, not so much kid friendly. If I could I would give this place 0 stars I would !! Horrible service! Horrible food!! Asada tasted like teriyaki! And was old! Still wanted us to pay for it. The Menudo was old and smelled like it was not washed right! Son ordered a burrito and they put stuff that was not on the ingredients on the menu and got upset when we told them it was wrong. ( huge safety concern for people that might bite into something they are allergic to.) I asked for manager and they told me they do not have a manager. If that is true it really shows, I am a manager and I would be embarrassed if my place was ran like this. It's no wonder why the place was so empty. Worst damn service ever messed up my order three times said I was highly allergic to avocado and they still put it in my burrito multiple times. Then when another person order chicken from my table cause they can eat beef they gave her beef and she didn't know till we checked would not recommend ever going here their service got worse over time. Horrible service today. We called in order at 11AM and arrived at 11:20. Waited...and waited. People arrived after us, got seated and left. People that ordered to go left before us. I asked cashier at 12 why it was taking so long. She said they "were busy" and tried to brush me off. I let her know we called it in at 11. Now it's over an hour later. She didn't seem to care. I asked for a credit or something for the inconvenience, she said "I already charged you" There was no customer service. I guess she did try to ask a manager/owner what they can do. 1:20 minutes later, our food was ready. They offered a birria for the mishap. No thanks. I told her "I know it's only $60 for you guys, but we definitely won't be back." -- Servicio horrible hoy. Llame la orden a las 11 am y llegamos a las 11:20. Esperó ... y esperó. Running an errand on a Saturday morning, I caught the scent of delicious birria. Walked up to the door and was very pleased to see the restaurant taking all precautions during these trying times. I felt safe enough to order the birria dorada plate that came with a good portion of rice and beans on the side as well as hand made tortillas. The meat while crispy was juicy, the consume was also savory. Everything from this order was amazing. My best wishes to this amazing hidden gem. I will be basting about this meal for years to come. If I could give this place a zero I would..... got 15 tacos and a order of Birria to have a picnic with my family. Requested my toppings on the side and the waitress that was cleaning the tables outside with gloves came in to put my toppings in some foil using the same damn gloves... the tacos, salsa or Birria have no flavor. I've been going there and give them a chance since I can understand they are probably overwhelmed or something person is happening. But I've noticed the girls just are rude. I call to make and order and the lady taking my order tells me what do I want and I tell her and she just hangs ups. Like I would like to know if there's a wait, or even order maybe a drink nothing just hangs up. And when I get there she ignores me and leaves comes back and talks to some man and then goes what can help you with. I didn't notice on my first visit that this place is across the street from a cemetery! So maybe if you're superstitious that could be a factor against visiting, but otherwise, it's definitely now my go-to birria place in the bay area. I like the traditional birria with stewed meat in broth, but they also have grilled/separate and it's all good. The birria is really flavorful and hearty and served up fast & piping hot. I try to eat fast before it cools down, but it's still pretty good even if I'm too slow. They take cards but there's nowhere to add tip. I don't usually carry cash, so that was awkward... The tacos are pretty good for a dollar. My favorite meat to get here is the spicy pork... and when they say spicy.. they aren't lying. Yuck The Birria is what they are known for and that was disappointing too. It was bland but we also ordered a quesadilla with the birria and that was burnt. Dry as can be. I ordered chorizo and egg and it was burnt too. I don't like to eat burnt chorizo ever. It was as if they scraped the burnt chorizo off the skillet and mixed it egg. The enchiladas sauce was so watered down that the sauce barely had color and you were left with a wet watery tortilla with cheese inside to eat. Yuck Definitely never going back. read more

Looking for some tasty Mexican breakfast stop here. My husband brought me awhile back to this place and I ordered posole. One time he ordered huevos a la Mexicana and I was like hmm... Then, he told me to try it and I was like delicious. This is my favorite go to for Mexican breakfast comes with the eggs, potatoes, beans and tortillas. Prices are affordable and this plate costs $10. I plan to go try there tacos sometime and I'll update here once I do. The establishment is comfortable, nice staff, and occassionally patrons put on the jukebox. Love this spot! Finding a good birria spot in San Jose can be tricky as every place does it different, but the birria here is great. The staff is also very friendly and has great service. As for the covid side of things you order and pay first and then you sit outside 6ft away from everyone else. Lastly, if you come here YOU HAVE TO order the agua de horchata. The tortillas are warm, soft and fresh. It's nice that when you order birria you can get unlimited "refills" of the broth, tortillas, cebolla y cilantro. You should because I think it's slightly overpriced, but shoo' everything is now right? La torta de birria is tasty. If you're fairly new to carne de chivo and don't want to be overwhelmed with goatness then it's a good choice. The service is fast and attentive. The atmosphere is authentic, casual and I don't know about Michelle B. saying that guys will stare at you. I guess it depends on when you come and what you're wearing. This place gets 4 BEAAAAHHHs from me. It's not as good as the birria in Jalisco, but that's not a fair comparison. Foodies and hipsters stay out of here because you guys ruin everything. read more
