    Tostada Miata and shrimp taco
    Christine R.

Came across this restaurant while working in the area and now I try to stop by when I'm on my way home. The ceviche is so flavorful, fish tacos are amazing and the asada meat is juicy with tons of flavor. Highly recommended

Plus I love that they have parking!!!!

The food is always good here. Tried this when we did clinicals at LA community back in 2019 and ever since we've been coming back. My go to here is their mixto burrito which is the fish and shrimp burrito.

I work down the street and this is our company's go to place on tuesdays for their fish tacos! You can't beat 1.25$ for a delicious deep fried piece of heaven. They don't skimp out on anything here and I love their consistency. Super good deal on tuesdays and sundays so come by if you don't have time on the week days. Two tacos is more than enough but 3 leaves me super full. And for the price why not get 5!? I've only tried their tacos, but I'm sure anything else on their menu is equally as delicious. They're really good with their Togo boxes too because each container comes with a lime and a grilled pepper. My containers came two tacos per and it was more than enough. Getting hungry just thinking about it *insert dool face emoji

The place is a small little corner building with an outdoor seating area, very homey. We ordered the tostada de ceviche code camarones. It was delicious and flavorful. It came with avocado and freshly made tortilla chips I also ordered tacos de camaron dorados those were also good. The gentleman that took the order was so kind and his smile was so warming. Overall great service and food.

What a deal!! $1.15 per fish taco on Tuesdays and Sundays. Insane value and equally delicious. If you are looking for taco Tuesday and you are relatively close, I would definitely high recommend. Also awesome that this deal goes on every Sunday. Parking is street parking so might need to circle around the nearby neighborhoods before you find a spot.

Shrimp tacos. Yeah... we came back and got a photo this time.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Social media brought me here and I'm unsure if I would come back again due to personal experience. If a friend wants to come by I wouldn't object to it but I wouldn't make my way out here on my own. Food was good but no wow factor, skip to the bottom for food description. My fluently Spanish speaking friend called in the order to avoid us waiting too long. I went to pick it up with different friend ( we both don't speak Spanish..). We told the staff that we called in the order she went in and grabbed the receipt $74.25 total. I handed her $84.25 she went inside with our money while we waited. She came back out with the box of food neatly packed, receipt taped to box didn't have any dollar amount only the list of what was ordered. I asked her "my change? my money" she looked at me stunned.. and she said "oh your change..." She came back out with five $1 bills and a single $5 bill. She had in one hand my receipt and $1 plus a $5 bill on top of the receipt covering, totaling $6 while she was handing me that she said "seis dinero." I kept telling her "no I need $10.. I gave you $84.25.." She still said "yes $6." One hand had $6 with my receipt, other hand the $4. I pulled my calculator out and typed in 84.25 to show her. She said "yes $10" and handed me all the bills.. I'm not sure what was miscommunicated or what was misunderstood.. but there was no reason for her to hold the other $4 in her other hand if she wanted to give me back a total of $10 in change. I later see on the printed receipt that whoever manned the registered entered only $80.25 Tostada Aguachile Verde -good, flavorful and fresh. Al Gobernador (tacos)- Sinaloa type of shrimp tacos. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and not overly cooked. Shrimp was super flavorful paired with chopped onions and bell peppers. My favorite out of the things we tried. This might be a better option if you personally don't really like tortilla that's just heated up and not fried. Ensenada Camaron (tacos)- shrimp was a bit overcooked under the batter. Batter was light and fluffy. Didn't personally like the tortilla it's served on. Dorados (tacos)- seems to be their signature dish, deep fried shrimp tacos. Shell was crispy and shrimp inside is well seasoned and doesn't come out overcooked. Good but not wow. Ensenada Pescado (tacos)- fish was buttery and flakey, batter was light and fluffy. Also didn't like the tortillas it's served on.

I've been craving mariscos for MONTHS. Sadly, I was not satisfied. This isn't the type of place to just try whatever they offer. We ordered the tacos gobernador. Those were pretty good. I've had them before at many places. I also had the batalloso. The batalloso was full of beautiful seafood. Packed! That part was amazing. But I couldn't get with the flavor. I couldn't even finish it. I never have a problem finishing mariscos. My husband at two tacos - one shrimp, one fish. The presentation was also beautiful. And packed! The downside is, the only salsa or chile you're getting is tapatío on the table. We asked for salsa or anything else they have besides the taptatio. The answer was a hard no. Tapatío only. So that took away from the tacos. My daughter had the fried fish and shrimp plate. This was good. Fries were really good. Unfortunately, they're not mindful of what they put on the tvs. First, it was a dental infomercial. Then a starving children with visible health problems infomercial came in after. It was hard to eat seeing all of the adversity. We asked to change the channel. They did not. Lastly, there are no restrooms. Even for patrons. So bring your wipes and sanitizer. Cash only.

So on to the food The portions are astronomically unbelievably huge One taco was more than enough for one meal & presentation wise, the container was a sea of cabbage. & buried underneath was the fried seafood Impossible to fold like a taco, it was a tostada type entree, or a deconstructed taco. So the fried shrimp were like tubes. & the coating was very Panko- ish. It was like 10 baby shrimp nuggets on top of the tortilla Then the fish it was also like 4-5 pieces So they didn't taste nasty but they weren't the bomb. I'll never return & I'll recommend only if someone wants a gargantuan disassembled taco

We arrived at about 10am (opening time) and we were able to find a good spot in the private parking lot. There were at least 10 other people that must've had the same idea and show up early to beat the traffic. We opted for the grilled halibut and seabass dishes with garlic bread, rice, salad, and ceviche. Even though it was a little cool from the rainy weather, it was still nice enough to eat outside in an enclosed patio with electric heaters. They also have two restroom facilities for any bathroom needs. The main area where we ordered was also where we picked up our orders. We also had the option to call ahead and place orders for pick up/to go. Those were processed in the Seafood Market section (where they had different fresh fish and seafood options). The food was pretty good--opted for garlic butter sauce for the fish and it was the perfect complement to the halibut, but the sea bass was honestly so tender that it needed no sauce. The salad and dressing were as expected. Same with the rice. All of these portions were pretty big. The garlic bread was also pretty tasty and a juge portion, but the ceviche, although good, was a smaller portion than expected. It was fresh and quite flavorful and came with a side of chips. The food was delicious, environment was nice, and we came across others that made the trek out early to enjoy the food at this spot. Will definitely visit again in the future.
