If you are looking for homemade Mexican food like grandma used to make, this is not the place. It's probably closer to late night munchies you made in the dorms. Not really in a good way, either. The meat was very flavorful, everything was a great. I really love the flavor of the chicken in the chimichanga!!! The only reason I signed up for yelp is to warn people of this place. Me and my 4 kids walked into this heater of a restaurant (probably 90 degrees inside) because we all like Mexican food. We ordered a couple bean and cheese burritos, and 2 carnitas burritos. My carnitas looked like is was canned chicken, but I actually would've been better off if it was because it had zero flavor. It was like I was eating a flavorless sponge. They didn't even fry it. And the cheese inside was cold. My daughter (8yo) couldn't stomach it so I sent it back and got two carne asada tacos instead. I never thought you could make flavorless asada tacos, but I was wrong. The tacos were equally bad. Then I tried my son's bean and cheese burrito and it was the most blande thing ever. I get the bill after they knew I was displeased and everything was full price and nothing discounted. It was about 30 bucks to eat garbage. They should have paid me 30 bucks. We ended leaving and picking up Taco Bell because my daughter couldn't stand to eat anything there. I'm still amazed how food can look so delicious and taste the exact opposite. That takes unique talent. I would give them zero stars if possible, but it's okay because they earned one star with the water actually tasting like water. read more

My family and I were on vacation in the area and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Enchilada Taco Plate and received a soggy, Beef taco that tasted nothing like beef. I whole heartedly believe that I was given venison without my knowledge. On top of being gross, I woke up in the middle of night sick as a dog. Excellent food and very reasonable. We had a party of 5 and everything was good wifw had flautas I had a carne estrada burrito my girls had enchiladas. The place is very small maybe like 6 tables but well worth it if you could squeeze in here. They do take credits cards Visa or Mastercard and have many cervezas to choose from. Come and support your local mom n pop Mexican food restaurant, theres plenty of parking too. Did I mention friendly? If in the area I will definitely come back. My second favorite Mexican restaurant in town! We've been there twice since moving up here and it's still great. We've ordered the carnitas, carne asada tacos, ground beef tacos, and chicken quesadilla. All are great! The carne asada tacos come with two taco shells so feel free to make your one taco into two if you'd like. Mine have always had enough meat to do this. They make good use of the small location, including an outdoor area. Even on a busy day with only a few empty seats, the waitress and food always come out quickly. I've been here twice. The first time I swore that I had a burrito that had no taste. Literally, it was like eating a flavorless sludge. Then a friend told me that they liked the food. So, I tried it on another day. Thinking that it would be better, I was SO WRONG. Again, the food here has no taste. There is no flavor to anything. How they stay in business, I do not know. This "hole in the wall" restaurant has quality mexican food at Inexpensive prices. Everytime I come to Big Bear, which is often during the winter, I make sure to stop in and eat here. Horrible experience today with service. Busy with only one erson working, slow service, wrong orders brought out and never came back with the corrected order but just forgot about us and one of us didn't eat! Never apologized or anything at all. Unbelievable. Also took our credit card and forgot to bring bill back to us for ten minutes until we asked.
