This was after we were standing at the hostess standing waiting for at least 10 minutes, greeted with attitude and then told there were no tables... on the way out we counted six empty tables. A real gem in more ways than one! The food, service and ambience is first class. Having dinner outside you could easily believe you are in Italy. We had 4 different meals and all of them were outstanding. House salad isn't much, but it is possible to upgrade. The servings were large and only 1 of the 4 people could finish the entire order. This restaurant was absolutely 5 stars and we were given the best restaurant experience by Dustin (which we will speak about more further in our review). The village outside of the restaurant is formatted with a string light display that is warming and quite beautiful. The inside is just as beautiful if not more. Fancy white table cloths, underneath a lit candle surrounded by an all wooden texture that exaggerates elegance, class and professionalism. Me and my fiancé were amazed with how grand this place looked we felt as if we were underdresssd yet we were not judged by any of the servers for being underdressed. ALSO THE MENUS ARE LITE WITH AN LED UNDER THE PAGES TO VIEW IN LOW LIGHTING!! WHERE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THAT AT? To speak about our wonderful waiter Mr. Dustin. Someone who you can tell is passionate about food (specifically Italian dishes). He was kind, playful, knowledgeable, as he was informed in person, "supplied one of the best services if not the best service we have ever had". We even learned some Italian from him as well. Food goes beyond pasta. The menu is sectioned with choices of steak, seafood, salad and kids meal. From personal experience we suggested the: Lasagna Brie Cheese Any with the fruit flavored balsamic (trust me I hate balsamic but this stuff is good!!!) Buyer Beware I had my mother's 80 birthday dinner at La Piazza Café on June 23, 2021. The food was delicious and the service by our waitperson was fantastic, but I had major problems with their handling of a private party at their restaurant. I was told to use their on-line menu to choose the dishes I would like to serve. (The pricing is listed on the on-line menu) I was also told that there was a minimum food and beverage charge and a room fee. That was all that I was told. I had several phone calls with the owners and when I called to give the final confirmation on the food choices and number of attendees, I was quoted a per person price which was way higher than what it should have been.  When I questioned the pricing, I was told that they have raised their prices. I was not informed about the price increase and they did not change their website to reflect those price increases. (I have screen shots of the menu to prove this.) I was also told they charged everyone the highest price dinner entrée even though there are other options that were less expensive. I was not told this was their procedure. There was no disclosure of any of the above and if I had not questioned the higher per person price, I would have not known about the pricing issues. After a long discussion with the owner, he told me he would make it right. The night of the party, I received a bill that reflected the higher prices and the charge for the higher entrée. They did nothing to make it right.  They were not honest and their communication was terrible. I would never refer anyone to book one of their private rooms.  Beware if you decide to use them for a private event. read more

Rude owner who has double standards. He lets his friends smoke their, which I'm not a fan of, but insulted my husband. This was about our 6th visit and the check was $176.00. Original Italian fare that pleased the whole family! We called La Piazza at around 4pm on Saturday to make a reservation just 2 hours later with 7 people and they were more than accommodating! The service didn't stop there. After a two minute walk from the provided parking lot, and aimlessly walking around for about 5 minutes, we finally found the patio and host area of La Piazza. We were immediately greeted by our friendly waitress who led us to our table located in the beautiful patio area. The atmosphere was very relaxed, with live music playing in the square, and hanging lights encircling us, I felt like I was back in Italy! The service: 5/5 Our waitress was very enthusiastic and passionate about the food that she was serving us. She was able to give a detailed description about each of the menu items we had questions on, and recited the extensive specials list to us with her own personal recommendations. The food: 4.5/5 Pecan Crusted Brie - A creative appetizer that fell a little short. The brie was pretty good although the pecans confused me, but, the garnished it with melon? Why? Mussels - A fantastic app that we couldn't get enough of, it was gone in literally 30 seconds! Yum, had a generous portion of garlic that complemented it to perfection. Excellent. The Grouper special - A recommended dish by our server that was out of this world! I was debating between the grouper and a white sauce pasta dish. Our server offered me a combination of the two dishes that left me speechless! The grouper was cooked perfectly and topped with a delicious fruit medley, and the pasta dish I received was phenomenal, delicately coated in a cheesy, white wine sauce and tossed with mushrooms, pancetta, and peas. Amazing! Carrot Cake - Fantastic. Classic, delicious carrot cake with a great cream cheese frosting! We were told it was the owner's wife's recipe, awesome. Overall, this authentic Italian restaurant in beautiful European village offered original, creative dishes that totally satisfied my palate. A must stop in Palm Coast! read more

Good dinner experience. The location of this place is cute! The staff was very nice. They weren't compliant with wearing masks though. The service was good - the quality of the food varies dish to dish. Some dishes were perfect and others were fair. The special (which was $39.99) was the least impressive of all 6 meals ordered because it came out room temperature and the shrimp was cooked for too long. (The staff ended up making us an entire new entree of the dish to take to-go which was very kind.) The steak and some of the pasta dishes were very enjoyable. Awesome complimentary warm bread. Quiet outside seating on a Monday night, but told weekends are loud. String lights in the European Village create a nice ambiance. Clearly understaffed. No one at host stand & outdoor waitstaff ignored our waiting for over 15 minutes. Once seated, waited another 10-15 to be greeted & to order. Once addressed, wait staff was kind and attentive. Had appetizer that we misunderstood. Thought we'd be getting fried mozzarella, but we got something entirely different & unpalatable. Without any complaint, waitstaff noticed plate almost untouched,, asked if we didn't like it, & removed from check. Side salad is literally just spring mix lettuce in a bowl-What?!? Would it kill them to throw in some tomato cucumber, & onion? 8 oz filet mignon was delicious. Eggplant Parm (called something else on menu) was fantastic. If I could give this "restaurant" a half star I would. I have ALWAYS been a fan of La Piazza. Coming from New York, good eats are everything to me, and every visit to Palm Coast meant a visit to La Piazza. This all changed this week however. I decided to celebrate my Dad's birthday there and waited TWO HOURS while seated at a table, with no bread, no water refills, or any check in about our delayed service. When I went to speak to a manager, Larry the owner, actually became ABRASIVE, DEFENSIVE, and CONFRONTATIONAL. He told me the wait was MY FAULT because I came in at 7 pm with no reservation. He proceeded to get loud and accusatory and I told him his approach was frightening and quite alarming for the owner of an establishment which represented fine dining. He had to be calmed down by a staff member at the register, apologized for being "frazzled" and then promised to "make it up to us". TWENTY MINUTES AFTER THAT, our food finally arrived. It was 9:30 pm. We stayed out of principle. We expected at the very least a percentage off the bill. Larry's big "gesture" was to send out an old piece of cheesecake for my father, but not before the plates were cleared before we even finished. I am horrified. Save your time, your energy, and your wallets- this basic everyday spot masquerading as gourmet cuisine, is NOT even worth a drop by. read more

Hands down some of the best service I have ever experienced in my life, and I eat out quite often. Our waitress Renee was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wine menu and pleasant from the moment we were seated until the moment we were walking out the door. One of the people in my party couldn't decide between 2 options, and when she asked the waitress for her input, she offered to provide small portions of both options so she didn't have to decide between them! Overall fantastic experience. The food is divine. The wine selection is nice and priced very well. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the rigatoni à la vodka. The vodka sauce is to die for. I had a flounder spécial and the fish was fresh and delicious topped with a light lemon butter sauce served over a creamy Parmesan risotto. For appetizers, the lobster roll appetizer was tasty and the bruschetta appetizer was super tasty with a variety of three different bruschetta. The prosciutto and melon salad was excellent as well. La Piazza has never been exceptional, but a popular spot in European Village and a comfy atmosphere, ooh la la lighted menus that makes one feel like they're in fine establishment . The food is comparable to same as on a cruise ship..just.not good. Service bad to horrible if not lucky to go on a night when their experienced help on duty. Overall..service Is bad, food overpriced and not good, exp the Veal perm, chicken Marsala.
