Brittany was our server tonight and she was amazing! Knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. We started with a bottle of Bonanza Cabernet (temperature regulated-- highly recommend) which eventually turned into two :) She brought out some warm bread, olive oil and balsamic, and butter for our one year old son. Very thoughtful. I got the chicken parm- amazing. My dad had the bolognese which he said was spectacular and my mom had the Marsala. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars- it was super mushy. Chicken and mushrooms. She only had half of it but said it was flavorful nonetheless. My son had the chicken fingers and fries which he loved- they were like a chicken parm without the sauce or cheese and the fries were curly. This restaurant is one of my favorites in Palm Coast. It's in a great spot inside of the European villages. Great ambience. I have never had a bad meal here. Went recently and we ordered the lobster bruschetta (amazing!) Chilean SeaBass, beef carpaccio, and a side of spring salad with some sort of house dressing that was very much like crack!! It's more Upscale than other places in Palm Coast so expect to pay more but it's worth it. read more

I hosted my sister's baby shower at La Piazza Cafe and I can't stress enough how wonderful the experience was. I have very specific expectations when hosting a party and the owner, Larry, was so accommodating! I have never been shamed as a customer for criticizing poor food quality till now. Nice atmosphere and food was ok definitely a 6 of 10 compared to other Italian restaurants in the same price category. What stuck out the most was after explaining that all of the shrimp in 2 of the dishes were over cooked and dry not asking for a refund or anything just letting him know he told the "maybe" owner who proceeded to f bomb about the critique and then look in our direction and shake his head in a disgusted way not once but then again peering his head out of the back room. Horrible experience and will probably never go back too many other resturaunt s that provide quality customer service and thrive on better quality and service not shame their customers . The owner Larry Lass has always been wonderful when accommodating my severe food allergies. The chef makes a delicious gluten and dairy free meal for me and I have never been contaminated. Good wine selection. One of the better dining experiences in Palm Coast. Is a bit pricey or I would dine here more often. I recommend their fresh pasta dishes, the Chicken Piccata, or their clams over fresh pasta. They offer gluten free pasta which is great. The salad that comes with the entrees is about as basic as you can get. Spring mix and a light vinaigrette dressing. To upgrade to a decent salad it's a steep up charge, IMO. Again a top go to place to get a great meal at a locally owned restaurant. Locals and visitors keep this place busy. read more

My wife and I booked and prepaid for this restaurant's 2024 Valentine's Day four course dinner ($222 that included gratuity and tax, plus we spent an additional $55 for wine, sparkling water, coffee and gratuity). We were very disappointed with our experience. We were initially seated at a table for two that was already set up with the menus, etc., but the owner asked us if we would prefer a different table for two by the window, so we moved. He sat down and talked to the people at the table next to ours for several minutes while we just sat there with no service at all. The restaurant did hand out a lovely single rose to every lady there, so that was a good touch. My wife finally waved at him to see if we could get some service and a few minutes later a waitress came by and asked if we wanted water and if we wanted to order any wine. We asked for for water and ordered wine. Never got the water until later when we ordered sparkling water, but we did get the wine. Our waitress was very inattentive--we rarely saw her. It was like we were an after thought. We finally were asked for the particulars of our food orders. We both ordered the Surf and Turf entree, after seeing the nice Filet Mignon the woman next to us had. We seemed to wait quite awhile between courses. When our entrees came, we were both served Filets that looked nothing like the lady next to us had and while we had both ordered Medium Rare both of our steaks were pretty much on the Done or Well Done side. My wife flagged down an employee and told them and I will say they replaced her steak very quickly, although it was still more Medium than Medium Rare. I ate mine as it was served and did not send it back, so that's on me, but it was tasty anyway. The lobsters were very good. Overall and for what the meal cost, the food was at best mediocre and the service was very lacking, The experience was no where near worth what it cost, period. We were very disappointed, expecting much better because a year ago La Piazza handled our 50 year wedding anniversary dinner party for 20+ people and they did a fantastic job with the food and the service was outstanding. The sauce was perfectly seasoned- not salty at all and the beef was not ground , it was a slow cooked , tender, mouth watering sirloin!! The Chicken Parmesan - another mouth watering, tender exquisite dish!! This is definitely NOT A pizza parlor! The chef knows what he's doing at this gem of a restaurant!! I've been this restaurant many times and it has always been one of my favorites, but tonight I was really turned off when I got the bill. First of all they charge $5 extra for a caesar salad and $4 extra on sauce for a pasta dish that was already $29 and then $4 extra for a gluten free pasta side dish, but what really takes the cake is the 3.5% extra charge for using a credit card. This has never been there before and when you have a bill of $225 and an additional amount is added for using a credit card is absurd. I will never go back. read more

This was our first visit. Let me tell you the food was good!!! Pricey yes, small portions, salad yes entree no. Walked in when they opened. Server asked if we had rez. No one in the place and when I said no she studied the seating chart like the place was jumping. Gave us a choice of two tables and shortly after we sat down an 8 top seated right next to us. She knew them and they got a lot more of her attention than we did. Back to the food. Veal was tender and plentiful. Caesar salad was an upcharge of $4 just for a different dressing. This restaurant was so great that we came two nights in a row on our vacation! This is a true Italian restaurant where everything tastes (and is) fresh out of their kitchen. The first night I had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo which also came with calimari and conch. Omg, so good! My fiance had the veal chop special. My son had the Veal Pasta with Olive Oil and Garlic, which was also fantastic! The rest of the kids had alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs, which they also loved. The second night my son had the veal chop special, one of our kids had the filet, and the other kids had alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs again. My fiance and I split a caprese salad, a lobster roll brushcetta special, and the mushrooms stuffed with filet, all delicious! There was one small snafu with the filet being boneless when it should have been bone-in but the staff quickly made it right by adding in free desserts for the kiddos, which we appreciated. We really loved this restaurant and will definitely be returning on our next trip to Palm Coast. read more

The wait staff were very helpful with wine selections as They have an extensive wine list. We had a variety of appetizers- including lobster bruschetta, calamari , and antipasto. My entree was Sea Bass and it was amazing. The restaurant was very good to work with for an event, and the staff friendly and efficient. Holy, WOW, WOW, WOW! This is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. Our friends that live nearby said this was the ideal locale to celebrate our son's 17th birthday. Italian isn't his favorite but a good steak, yes, please! We were told to book in advance, we did but we didn't request inside or outside, if that's important to you, be specific! We wanted inside, it was a hot evening but they were fully booked. We were just pulling out chairs at the table we were told to sit at when the owner stopped us and told us to sit at a different table. Odd, but, no worries! we sat in the shade next to the door under a fan, it was fine. They immediately sat someone else at the first table we were directed to, they were greeted, brought menus, water & wine before I got up, went to the host stand and as politely as I could asked if we can get greeted. The owner was kind but defensive when he said that our server must be different than the one we watched & quickly someone came, greeted us & brought us water. The owner told us our server was busy opening up 2 bottles of wine. That was a lame excuse, anyone could have come over, said hello & offered us water. Once that was out of the way we met JoJo. JoJo, you are the perfect blend of opinions, class, honest suggestions, positive energy and knowledge. We can't wait to tell everyone about you! We started with Calamari Fritti $16.99 Tender rings of squid in a light seasoned batter, fried to a "golden crisp" just perfect, served with a marinara sauce & Mozzarella in Carrozza $14.99 Slices of mozzarella between "Pane Italiano" egg batter-dipped, pan-fried, served in a garlic and basil butter sauce. It was the best fried calamari I have ever eaten & we intentionally left most to take home so we didn't fill up. The mozzarella tasted like french toast, unique but not my thing. House salads are included with entrees, extra cost for a specialty salad. I had the salad special deelish with pickled red onions, gorgonzola, crispy pancetta, Gorgonzola crumbles.(+ $6), my husband Caesar (+4) add anchovies (+2) On to the entrees, the steaks are priced daily, the birthday boy had the bone-in filet, the best steak he's ever eaten and at $65.00 it should have been! Cooked to a perfect medium, not over seasoned tender, charred & tasty! I ordered the veal chop of the day, $45.00 a huge portion, served with umami gravy, sautéed veggies & mashed potatoes, just wonderful! Hubby had Veal Parm $26.00, it was lightly breaded, served on top of spaghetti with a light tomato sauce, he says it's the best he's ever had, and believe me, he's had quite a few! Our son's friend had the Pasta Alfredo with grilled chicken & gobbled it up! They serve delicate slices of Italian bread with EVOO & Balsamic to dip once you order, also delicious but who wants to fill up on bread? JoJo suggested a Pinot Noir by the glass for me, it was the least expensive & it was a nice glass. JoJo told us all of the desserts & our birthday boy (turned 17 so maybe more of a min child) selected the Chocolate Mouse Cake. JoJo warmed it a bit & again, the most amazing chocolate mousse cake we have ever tasted. JoJo was exceptional in her suggestions, if you are able to get a reservation in her section you will have one of the best meals of your life! We can't wait to be back in this area again just for this restaurant. Fantastic homemade food; didn't think you could get NY style food in the north florida area this place is hidden but once you try the food it will always stick out. A real italian place comes together when the owner comes to each table not only to check in to make sure ur enjoying the romantic or fun family setting. The service is inviting and the food is correctly portioned. It did not taste at all like lobster, was a mixture of Mayo, fish and chopped up vegetables on top of a piece of warm Italian bread.Tasted like tuna fish, My husband upgraded to a crab bisque, it was a watery salty broth not at all what a bisque should taste like, they obviously don't use cream or butter in their bisque. Our entrees tasted like the came out of the freezer. My husband had the eggplant parmigiana and I had the chicken Frances.
