We had placed several orders for home delivery in the past and were unhappy with the delivery times and foodcoming cold. We decided to place an order and pick up. Let me start by saying the service was fantastic from the hostess to our server. Quick, friendly and came by more than once to see if we needed anything. On to the food. We ordered as an appetizer the fried calamari. It was perfectly cooked. It wasn't greasy, the breading was light and the marinara it was served with was tangy with just a hint of spiciness. For our main course we ordered two brick oven pizzas, the Fra Diavolo and the Prosciutto E Arugula. Both pies were delicious, crust nice and crispy on the bottom and held up well with all the yummy toppings. The Fra Diavolo pie had hot crumbled sausage, spicy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and cherry peppers. The contrast of the vinegary cherry peppers with the sweetness of the tomatoes and spicy sausage worked very well. The second pie the Prosciutto E Arugula was very tasty as well. Fresh mozzarella, fontina cheese, salty prosciutto topped with fresh arugula and a little bit of truffle oil. This is def a party in your mouth. Writing this review I wish I had a slice now. I'm in the bridal party for a wedding and we recently hosted the bridal shower at La Piazza. I've been to the main restaurant before, but this was the first time I had seen the catering hall. The room itself was definitely smaller than we pictured, however what the space lacked in size, it made up with charm. The staff was very helpful, organized, and efficient. For Mother's Day, since my elderly parents can't get around, I decided to order take-out and bring dinner to them. At about 3:15pm, I created an account on La Piazza's webpage and placed an online order. By 4:15pm, dinner was on the table and it was delicious!! Dinner for 3 (3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and one side) was enough for twice as many people. The food was hot, the seafood was fresh, the pasta was perfectly done al dente, and the entire staff -- despite being super busy -- were so pleasant! The online ordering process is amazing -- they allow you to customize every item, so I was able to add extra sauce to my mom's pasta, swap out my regular pasta for whole wheat penne, get two different kinds of sauce for the fried calamari, and select the type of sauce I wanted for the Linguini De Mare and Pasta Primavera. We had a baby shower in the party room with 60 people. It was fabulous and a great success mostly because of Ashley and Erika! Ashley assisted us when we booked the party and was the go-to person for questions and leading up to the party. Extremely accommodating, and great to work with! We had our son's wedding reception there on 6/9, from the planning to the night of the reception, every step went like clock work. Mike and Ashley were always available to answer our questions and concerns quickly. Erica was the Maitre d for our reception party. She attended to every detail, she kept me calm even though I was very anxious & nervous because I wanted everything to be perfect. She impressed my guests with her attentiveness to their requests. The food was delicious, fresh & plentiful. I had a great experience using Angelina's Floral. The table settings were beautiful and colorful. The bouquets and boutonnieres were very complimentary to bridal party & the theme color " pink". We will use the LaPiazza's Catering Room again for future parties. They can't quite make their regular pizza stand out as anything incredible, but their pasta calls upon a sensational copulation of the taste buds. I really like the buffalo chicken pizza too, and the people there are friendly. I have nice memories of going there and eating large minestrone soups. The pizza is some of the best I've had. It's a really nice looking restaurant too. The restaurant food is slightly above average with well above average pricing, so there is not much value there. What is well below average is their attitude at the pick up counter. There is one dude there who refuses to make eye contact with customers when you tell him you have a pick up. He actually goes out of his way to look down so you see the top of his head all of the time. When he takes your money, you never hear a thank you. I was born and raised a few minutes from La Piazza and it first opened up in my high school years. I've since moved away and return to visit family and friends several times a year. Whenever I come home I head over to La Piazza the first chance I get. Now some of their other food is good, but what I am really after is the PIZZA. Their buffalo chicken pizza is by far the best of its kind that I have had anywhere (Italy included). At about $4 it isn't cheap, but it is piled high with freshly-made (in-house) buffalo chicken. They top it with a blue cheese sauce and cook it to perfection. You'd think that the amount of chicken, cheese and sauce would cause any crust to succumb, but not so. Their crust is perfectly weighted (in a way that only New Yorkers can know; sorry Chicago) and is both crispy and light at the same time. Other pizzas are also great; try the bbq chicken, the marsala, or really any of them. As I mentioned their other food is good as well; I've had the chicken primavera, penne ala vodka, paninis and all have been pretty good. In my mind though a visit to La Piazza must include some pizza. read more
