Visited family in Great Neck New York, They suggested we get pizza at La Pizzeria. What a great restaurant. The service was amazing. They lady was so nice and patient. The sushi was so yummy. I resent how a "kosher" sign gives businesses the A-OK to produce awful food and service. La Pizzeria is a very popular place among the local community for pizza, and on Saturday nights, it's more packed than the A train. I don't get it. Their cheese pizza is flimsy and lacks all flavor, the cheese doesn't even taste like cheese, and the sushi tastes like paper, possibly the worst sushi I've ever had. Their spicy fries aren't spicy and their regular fries are atrociously thin and overly salted. The service is, granted, busy and usually overwhelmed, but they're known to be aggressive, angry, and unfriendly. They're so slow. You have to ask them several times until one request gets done. The actual place is always a complete mess with napkins and food strewn about, and they couldn't care less. I've been numerous times, and it's always the same experience. All the five-star reviews are from people who live in Great Neck, are friends with the owner, and/or don't get out much. Take a trip into the city or the next town over to experience better... everything. read more

Went in there. There were 4 or 5 guys behind the counter and at the moment I was the only one that needed to be helped. Stood there for about 3 to 4 minutes (which felt like forever) waiting to be Acknowledged and nothing! There was an older Spanish gentleman who was right behind counter 3 feet away from me ( knowing I'm standing there) but refused to look up. Love the food here. I live in Queens and will come and bring friends when the craving for Eggplant Parmesan hits. Everything is Kosher so no meat for those who want to cut back or are vegetarian you can enjoy everything on the menu. The salad and sushi are delicious as well. Very shady business practice of adding extra charges on your credit card a day after a delivery. 2X in a row it was done to me. The first time I went in and had to rectify and was told I added food on after my initial order($43.60). Which was not true. I used them again and specifically told them not to add anything to my card/order and sure enough 2 days after the initial charge another $20.60 was added for no reason. Will never order again. I find it a bit odd that the best kosher pizza I have eaten had to be in Great Neck, I always figured it would happen in Brooklyn - but La Pizzeria was part of a large kosher pizza discussion on Chow Hound and I had to see for myself. It doesn't sell sushi - that gave them points - it was crowded, had one of those narrow walkways that you can't really fit in and the crust has a nice pattern and tastes great. Sauce is sweet, but it doesn't overpower the cheese which was to my liking. read more

La Pizzeria was one of the best pizza experiences I've ever had. First we ordered three slices and they were extremely fresh and at a perfect temperature. We ate them within a matter of minutes and they had a crisp but not hard crust, generous amounts of sauce and cheese, and they were hot enough to enjoy while not burning our mouths. I recommend doing take out from here and if you want to have a sit down meal try the spot next door that's connected to them. Ordered a large plain cheese pie and garlic knots. I thought since I ordered a full pie they will make it fresh. They basically picked up a premade pizza , warmed it up for a couple of minutes and gave it to me. Soggy and on the colder side. Taste also is no good. Called at 12:45am on a Saturday night (15 min before they closed) to order 4 pizzas after a wedding where the wedding party didn't get to eat. I decided to try this place for lunch on my own one day, since my office gets lunch catered from here once a week. I like the crispy crust and wanted to see how a slice tasted hot out of the oven. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, the place was absolute chaos. The line was out the door and droves of overly rambunctious children were running around, treating the tables and chairs like jungle gyms. As for the service, well....a snail could've easily done better. I ordered two slices and some garlic knots. The slices took forever and by the time they were brought out to me, the garlic knots still weren't ready. I choked down the slices, burning my tongue, because at this rate I was afraid I wouldn't make it back to work on time. When I finally got the knots, I couldn't even finish one, since they tasted so bad. One knot easily had enough garlic on it for four or five knots. And there was no seasoning--just an overabundance of garlic and grease. As for the pizza itself, I was less than impressed. Believe it or not, it tastes better lukewarm and congealed. I stick to getting my congealed slices for free instead of paying money for the food here. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but this time I just had to. I've been eating occasionally in La Pizzeria every time I'm in the Great Neck area and food was always delicious and service was above expectations. Tonight i ordered few items for the first time and each one of them was absolutely amazing, started with the thin crust pie, moved on to the eggplant parm, and penne alla vodka as a grand finale. I must say that from now on I will start traveling out to Great Neck more often just to satisfy my cravings and not just go into La Pizzeria when I'm in the area. 5 stars for staff as well, they will go out of their way to make sure each customer feels like he is the best and only customer! read more

La Pizzeria is a pizza place you don't want to visit. Their employees are some of the most disrespectful, and rude servers you will ever encounter. The place is always loud, noisy, poorly run. Your order will either be wrong, or take 20 minutes (even if you order ahead of time). The pizza isn't even worth it. It tastes worse than almost every other pizza place in Great Neck. Although they do sell sushi, the pieces are small, hastily-made, and expensive. If you want good pizza, stick to Roya's or Elite, La Pizzeria is really awful. read more

RUDE. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. From the minute I ordered, the man over the phone was rude to me, not paying attention to me, carrying on conversations with other people while I was on the line, and actually hung up the phone on me before I was done ordering.
