The food is always so good here me and my husband love coming here for the fish and the enchiladas

The food was really good. Couple things causes a little lower star rating. Small issue with the rice...Some of the rice was hard though. Actually hurt my tooth. I don't know if it was undercooked hard or over cooked hard. Lol. Most of it was good though. The only thing we didn't like was that constant slamming the door right behind us. HATED that! Sounds like it's just a heavy door but maybe they should have someone fix that or ask the employees to shut the door more quietly when going in and out... not just let it slam like that especially when customers are sitting near the door. Asked for a different table not to be seated under the ac and still didn't want to change asked where another party was sitting of 3 so sever lied and said it's for bigger parties after just seeing a people of 3 sitting there and also letting other people of 3 seat at other tables away from ac so unhappy with this place used to be a great place with great service now they don't care about there customer service husband tryed talking to another server and they just walk away like they don't care ! This restaurant really doesn't look like much when you pull in, It's very small. BUT, omg, their food is delicious. It's definitely equally or better than la mojarra Loca without the hour plus wait. Everything was flavorful. The caldo 7 mares was the best I've tasted. We also had a coctel de camarón y pulpo, usually I have to add ketchup, salt, etc to make it taste great, this one came perfect, I didn't have to do anything to it. I complexity recommend this place! Came here as last minute meal. Rated 4 stars (more like 4.5) because: Right off the back, the small plates provided to us were dirty. Ordered 2 modelo micheladas. They were good but I've had better. The shrimp tacos were bland. Needs more salt and spices. No sauce which is norm for shrimp tacos. Camarón ceviche tostada was excellent. Had the right spices, nicely cooked. All sauces and everything was really delicious. The dozen "ostiones preparados" were good. Needs a little bit more flavor but overall good. Customer service was good. Server was very attentive and friendly. We are overall satisfied for the price and quality of food. Definitely coming back for a second chance to get the 5 stars! read more

It was a trek out to this side of town for me, but there are definitely some awesome hole-in-the-wall Mexican places in this neighborhood. La Playita is no exception, though I will note that they seem to specialize in seafood options. CHIPS & SALSA: Thick and salty chips, fresh and mild red salsa, it's good but don't fill up on this. EMPANADAS ($8): start with an appetizer of these, cooked perfectly with a flakey exterior and a good portion of filling. Order of 4 is available with chorizo and cheese or shrimp. SHRIMP TACO ($3): available fried or "not fried", which comes in a warm tomato sauce almost like a seafood stew. Small in size but packed with flavor. TOSTADA DE DEVICHE MIXTO ($5): generous portion of fresh ceviche, heavy on the octopus, topped with avocado. Simple and bright, not too acidic. Interior is clean, small, and homey, decorated with a nautical motif. Service was friendly and fluently bilingual. Glad that this place is NOT a cash-only establishment! read more

A small mom and pop Hispanic restaurant that serves great Mariscos (seafood) at very fair prices. My friend and I came in after a long night of drinking the night before and we woke up a little hungover and super hungry so I decided to take her to La playita . The restaurant is super small and kind of hard to spot unless your a local. We went inside and everything was very clean and neat. We sat down and was greeted by a nice lady. My friend got a michelada $6.75 and it tasted amazing nothing special but it hit the spot. For some reason when your hungover drinking more beer helps lol. After demolishing the michelada our waitress came back and took our order . In the mean time I was munching on the complementary chips and salsa and the salsa was some of the best salsa I've ever had at a restaurant not very spicy but super flavorful. So after maybe 10 mins or less our food came . I ordered a cocktail de mixo $12 it contains shrimp , octopus, Abalone, oysters ,and topped with a slice of avocado. It tasted very good but i did bite on a piece of oyster shell that was super unpleasant it's a physical contaminate that I could of choked on and is the reason I'm giving this place a 4 out of 5 stars. I know they didn't do it on purpose but please be more careful next time . My friend ordered two fish tacos $3.50 each and she loved them ,fish was super fresh and sweet along with the other ingredients she was in heaven. The restaurant has a very at home vibe to it . Good service and yes they do also speak English , if you don't like crowded restaurants this is the place for you. It is truly a North Las Vegas hidden gem and it does deserve to shine. So I do recommend GO GO GO!!! read more

Started with some chips and salsa--and I must say that's some good homemade salsa and chips. I had the vuelva a la vida (shrimp, octopus, oyster seafood cocktail). I love to throw some Chalula and squeeze two lemons in it. So damn good, cold and refreshing in the summer time. Also had their michelada (bloody beer)--a definite must! They have the bottles sugarcane Coca Colas. Also tried their butterfly fried fish--which tasted amazing. Tasted like pancakes with grilled onions and side of salad, rice, and tortillas. One of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. I find myself dreaming of their cervesas preparadas throughout the day and week. Long day at work, cervesa preparada. Short day at work, cervesa preparada. Definitely the tastiest I've had in Vegas. I used to end up here every week. I usually order a chicken enchilada or a chile relleno, but that's because I head over after work for a little beer action. Haven't eaten here for a full on dinner yet.
