Being from NM and living in Az, it's always iffy to eat Mexican food in the NE. But this was great! The salsa was chipotle, smokey and delicious, the right amount of spice. We both had fajitas, chicken and beef. The did not disappoint. Service was excellent! Highly recommend! read more

I was here for an event, the food was good. The vibes were great. The ambience was perfect. The service was awesome. The chef and the waiters were all great and friendly. They got our orders and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were good a little bit more on the sweet side, but still delicious. It's safe to say I liked this paella better than the one that I had in Spain! The parking was a little confusing and I ended up having to pay $12 for an hour or two, however, I did hear that there was free parking in another garage. I just parked in the wrong one. Hope that they validate parking in the future, it is also in a great location where you can walk around when the weather is nice and check out the rest of the city! The decor in the restaurant was also very pretty and lovely to look at. They also have a bar with TVs, where I am sure would be a great time to watch soccer games or other games! I look forward to coming back and trying some of the rest of the food on their menu! I had the crispy duck papaya and the seafood papaya, and they were both delicious as well as a little bit of their quesadilla and some chips and salsa everything we had was delicious! Had dinner here with some colleagues while on a work trip. The food was all delicious. Love their salsas. We had the chicken enchiladas, stuffed poblano pepper, and street tacos. Everyone loved what they ordered. Cocktails are phenomenal too. And the service was great--attentive without being intrusive. We had a friend from Europe in town. He was staying in Crystal City (National Landing?) and he wanted Mexican food. We had never been to La Posada before and I usually won't take out of town guests to a restaurant where I have never been before. I made an exception and I'm glad I did! From the start, the service was great. They treated us like family--royal family! We enjoyed a round of tamarind margaritas. They were unique, delicious, and clearly crafted with care. The complimentary tortilla chips were accompanied by two types of salsa--both made in house and both excellent. The menu features some very intriguing dishes but we all stuck with the standard Mexican-American classics: quesadillas, enchiladas, and tacos. They were all very good. But I will go back to try some of their more unique offerings. We closed out with a piece of tres leches cake and a round of house made limoncello--made with tequila! It was very good. The food was great but the service and the staff were even better. If you're in Northern Virginia and you're looking for elevated Mexican food, look no further than La Posada. Had high hopes for this place, but they were clearly overwhelmed the night we went (Valentines Day). We were seated quickly and ordered a cocktail. Didn't see anyone agin for 30 minutes, so we flagged down a manger who finally gave us water, took our order, and said they would check on the drink. Another 30 minutes went by, and we asked someone a third time for the one hour+ drink. Finally got that a few minutes later, and our apps made it out. The queso was all cold and didn't come with listed tortillas. Didn't see anyone again for a while that we could tell. Mains came out. Sent back a cold cup of soup, but everything else was pretty tasty. Asked for a to go box and to have the cold queso and soup taken off of our check. Twenty minutes later, we got our check. If not for horrible service, including slow food coming out cold, it probably would have been good. As is, it was a horrible pick for a date night. read more

Had the chance to go to La posada . It was amazing. The space is ample and gorgeous. We started with a queso fundido with chorizo and it was delish. The service was good our server ( don't remember her name) she was polite and explain the dishes. The drinks were great. Samuel the manager pass by our table and said hi and checked on us. The steak nachos came with a very professional presentation: juicy steak, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh toppings like guacamole, jalapeños, and pico de gallo all well balanced. This place was great! I guess it's pretty new because there weren't a lot of reviews and they still have the "Now Open" sign up. My son and i went for dinner because it was walking distance from the Crystal City hotel we are staying at while I drop him at GWU. The chips and salsas they bring right away are fresh and delicious. We got the ceviche classico to start and it was lovely - plenty of cilantro and nice fresh fish which I'm guessing was talapia. I got the pollo del campo and it was some of the most perfectly roasted chicken I have had in a loooong time. If there was a weak spot it was the rice, which was still very good but sort of got eclipsed by the chicken and roasted corn, broccolini and some really amazing sauce. They have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks like aqua fresca, etc., too, which I appreciate because I stopped drinking years ago. Ambiance is very pleasant 'Mexico Chic' and the service was A+ Definitely recommend and I will go back! read more
